Hi everyone, I need some advice on the best way to approach this situation I am currently facing with Telekom Malaysia.

I was one of the victim of the flood which had happen back in December last year which cause massive property damage and loss of most of me and family assets and belongings. During this period there was plenty of nonsensical sympathy that was communicated by multiple brands ranging from electronics, telcos and automobile brands stating they will be providing aid and support to flood victims (most of them did no materialize or simply ask you to purchase a new product from them hardly at a discount)

One such brand was TM which stated they would be replacing all faulty equipments (e.g. Modem & routers) at no charge (refer to this facebook posting https://www.facebook.com/weareunifi/posts/10160020714963881)

However I had just came to the realization that the hidden charge was actually an automatic 2 years renewal of my contract with them starting from January this year. Not only was this nowhere to be stated in their communications, I was not informed about this when I was meeting their technician during the equipment replacement.

Besides lodging a complaint via MCMC, are there any other actions that can be taken by me? This is just really frustrating that most brands & companies are taking advantages of people's misfortune and doing a half baked job in actually helping out the community just to get some positive PR.

Car loan calculation

Hi sifus,

Can anyone clarify with me how does a SA calculate the loan amount for new car purchase?

For example, I am currently applying for a bank loan for a toyota vios and notice that the SA had included a very hefty rm3300 amount for the car insurance into my total amount. Would notice this has increase the overall loan amount (im currently paying 10% downpayment).

Would it be possible for me to get my own auto insurance separately and exclude this amount from the loan?
