Problem with upstairs neighbor condo

During mco time I hear chair dragging sound in middle of night
Every time I call the guard to sound this fella. this fella will drag one more time then stop
But recently this fella getting more malicious
Drag chair late at night 1 am
I confronted the fella but the wife denied say they never drag any chair
Then got new sound they purposely drop something very heavy on the floor
I really marah I take big stick and hit the Ceiling
I am thinking of buying a basketball and hit the ceiling too

But in mean times what can I do ?
I lodge report with maintenance office
But they sort of deaf ear now
Should I be more aggressive ?
Would this provoke the upstairs to drag chair even more ?
I have some chair felt gliders bought from ace hardware
Thinking of passing to MO to pass to this fella
But they not 100% stop chair drag noise

I see advertisement for Netflix require VPN to open streaming services
Why need VPN to open Netflix ?

And then when I work from home
My IT provide me with VPN to log in
SO I can access to my co server

Then sometime in K, people advise to use VPN
so not easily detectible
Can hide your IP
Is it true ?

So in the end what really is a VPN ?

I have a friend whose crazy boss

This friend confine with me, her crazy boss, everytime my friend come up with good reason to reject her boss request, her boss may stupid threats to complain her to HR.

This time is even more stupid

This stupid boss, ask her to help deliver a few item from at least 10 boxes. Each box, has 50 items. Means 10X 50 deliveries.

Is there risk of my friend being expose to covid 19 ?

So angry, got this type of stupid boss

I feel like going to the stupid lady boss house, and spit on her face.

Downstair nuisance neighbor in condo

I think I have incredible hulk living below me.
He slams the door extremely loud, until my who floor shook.
Sometime 5am, he slams.
I complain to condo mgmt., they went to fix this idiot door closer.
I thought that was the end.
But he slammed again.
This time I wonder if he purposely want to provoke me.
I already logged the complain several times to the mgmt. office.
I wonder what other remedy I have ?
THis fella is a tenant not owner.

Management office ask me to record
but is very hard
I can't just switch on my hp 24 hours and sit down there wait for him to slam the door.
he does it very randomly.

Joined a co where lazyness is the forte

THis big co is changed management recently, new management want more high expectation but is hem down by old management.

I am hired new by this new management to put forward changes.

They gave me a tough KPI to fulfill. So i been drilled to be a hard ass to fulfill the KPI.

My previous co culture is from China, we pride ourselves to finish our work in time and focus on high performance, so I am used to it. I ask my colleague to get this thing done, he or she will do it.

But in this new co i joined. Omg...people so slow moving and so full of pride. Not the kind of japanese pride associated with good quality work. But pride associated with if you voice out something that they did not do, they will get offended.

I found a lot of resistance since I joined. Tried to get this or that thing done. I have to, otherwise the new management will see me as underperformer, while those old timer already confirmed, while I am not, so I have to perform.

So I came against this very popular manager in the office. I needed to get his feedback to resolve a problem, but I found that many times, he lied and purposely gave me wrong information. Then the latest came in, he even resorted to taichi. So I had to escalate to higher ups, my boss supported me. But he also can do so much.

The popular manager is well known for lazyness and a non performer. But this co has a lot of non performers. New management want to take action but is prevented by their old partners.

So I had to make a formal complain about this popular manager, in which he back stab me and said that I am a back stabber and ruin people's rich bowl. Hello? I am tellign the truth. So this cause me to be unpopular, and I think I kena social boycotted.

When everybody leave office, they all say goodbye to each other, except me. Also when they have a party or something, they also purposely not invite me. But for me I don't really care, because I am a loner. Just curious what would you do when you are in this situation?

Next week there is a dinner gathering, I plan to excuse myself and not attend.

See company this kind of standard, I also in no mood to make friends here. Because for me, I only make freinds with people who have heart in their work, not those people who lies, support lazyness and taichi.

Anyways, its not as if I am going to last in this co for 10 years, I just gonna use this experience as a Batu Lonjatan. Dunno if can even last, hope to get confirm. I know its going to be a hostile work environment. but hey, at least I get stronger and tougher, I get to ignore those social boycott.

This co has no future, I see the workers all macam ini. At first the co is struggling, then got new partners to inject money and help, but I foresee even with this, with this kind of underperforming culture, no hope la. I can only develop my skills and toughness here. I at first wanted to go slow but was pressed hard by my boss, to be aggressive, so I no choice. Not that I disagree with him, but actually I do agree, because we need to change and change fast.

Condo neighbor main door slam loud

Story like this:

Developer lazy not do proper work after handover. Heavy main door which is a fire resistent door - the door closer not properly fix by stupid vendor. Everytime people close door the door slam very loud.

The neighbor come in very late at night and open door - slam ! so loud. Even sometime in middle of the night.

So I took it upon myself, to print out a message that to tell the neighbor to raise defect list to management office to fix the door closer.

Just screw tight the door closer then the door will close softly.

I paste it on the neighbor door because don't know what time the neighbor come, don't want to stalk him.

But lo and behold, still hear a lot of door slam.

Even saw the neighbor not bother to remove the message I put on his door. I use cellotape to stick it on his door.

What should I do ?

Confront him ? or call maangement office? you think these people are reasonable ? Would you be offended if someone do this to you?

I wonder if its because of the message, he slam the door even more.

I wrote it quite cordially.

Condo in KV getting smaller n smaller

Haven't bought a property in 6 years, then recently decided to do my own research. Budget 600k to 750k. Looking for at least 1100 sq feet.

Been buying in KL, but now aiming to invest in PJ.

So recently go back into the market.

Pros
1- wow thy now got futsal, half court basket ball and even jogging track

Cons
1- What the heck? Getting smaller and smaller 750 to 950 Sq ft for that price ???
2- Why PJ so expensive ? 750-950 sq ft for 750k ? Omg, I can get a 1200 sq ft at some KL suburbs, but in some parts of KL is getting smaller
3- Minimization living ? what the heck is that ? this is the kind of crap selling point developer consultants give these days
4 - Leasehold ? who the heck wants leasehold ? I know I can't live up to 99 years, but when I want to sell in sub sale market, its gonna cause delays as I got to get approval from land office, if I not mistaken
5- more and more are into commercial land, I don't want to pay extra for assessment and Service charges. Some developments just place 30 shop lots down stairs and wallah this is commercial land. This is rubbish.
6 - Developers still ignoring the little little things that deliver and add value - like for goodness sake please install some rubber at the door frame. Nowadays most condo and house new developments still got slamming door sound. So annoying.
7 - Open kitchen concept ? Why in the heck are all the stupid developers want to follow western concept ??? We are Asians. I wanna have my whole kitchen enclosed. Enclose can build more overhanging cabinets and store more kitchen ware. Also the smell don't have to reach the living room.

On a side question, was thinking of getting a pre-approval loan from bank before I confirm my deposit with any developer. does this kind of thing exist ? what are the drawbacks ?

I wana do this to avoid putting my deposit then when come to buy suddenly not qualify for bank, then 10% gone down the drain
on other hand, what if I secure loan, but when I go to developer suddenly the unit I wanna book is no longer available ?

Friend is 51 yo financial controller

My friend has work to financial controller doing quite well but he married late at 37.

At first he n his wife wanted kids, tried everything but failed even ivf

Then one day they had unprotected sex because they thought what can go wrong? Suddenly bom they have a kid

While my friend is happy with a child but he is worried by the time he n wife retired their kid will be going to university which need a lot of spending

My friend is now frantically thinking of saving money and investing for the future in properties, reits and education insurance. He wants the best for his kid don’t want kid to be left behind the rat race so a uni education is important. He also don’t want to burden his kid to take care of him after he retire. He heard in his co got one engineer retire but co decided to extend the engineer pay him half his former pay.

But one thing he is most worried is when he retires at 60 his kid would be 16yo

Question is, what can he do after he retires ?

Are there companies that still hire retirees accountants ? He doesn’t mind a pay cut. But he is very capable he know sap, can do budgeting costing and even financial accounting and audit.

He was also thinking of being a sap consultant after retirement. He hears one of his ex staff went to work for a local sap consulting co but cannot tahan due to messy and long hours. Why co like EY brighttree not hire retiree accountants ? Instead they hire youngsters ?

He also thought of real estate agent but recently not so good.

Any ideas ?

Co move to new location refuse to increase my friend allowance due to farther location

He thinking of looking for job nearer to his home

Teach how to get CD burner software

I want to burn all the notes and learning power point slides from my past company to CD for long preservation

I don't trust external drive as they tend to break down after 2 years. Last time I saved a lot of valuable co notes from my past company, but Seagate external drive after 2 years rosak, I unable to retrieve, wasted

I also don't prefer to upload to cloud for storage, my internet slow, take ages to do this.

I go IT shop to shop they also no sell software

If you ask to buy pirated (I must comply with law) so I don't buy. Besides, pirated got limited capabilities.

So sifus can you tell me where I can buy online ?

Sorry I noob in this.

Quality of our Condo by developers is so crap

I buy a decent property 600-800k I expect it to be of some decent quality lah. They even offer me 1 million over property but I didn't buy.

But if you move into a higher class property, don't just think about outside look nice, people want to invest in a peaceful and quiet property.

I suddenly find that it is so crap and noisy.

Can hear marble drop sound, chair dragging, foot steps and door slamming. Yes door slamming !!!! why can't the stupid developer just take some initiative to make sure the door knobs are not those ridiculous L-shape door knobs that slam the door. Last time door knobs all were cylindrical, I really miss those. I live in a house before, the doors are not made of explensive timber, just simple wood, and close just fine and right. But this stupid developer with award winning record, deliver a condo look nice outside but inside like noisy crap condo.

And then what about the main door ? It doesn't make it any easier that bomba requires fire resistant doors they are heavy. So the developer found this moronic door vendor, that don't bother to ensure the door closer auto closes the door softly, instead it slams very loud. What good use if I really my door and my neighbors don't bother to repair theirs ? Sound pollution is so rampant.

People please don't buy any high class condo, they are waste of money. Mind as well buy bangalow or semi D. Heck buy a double storey link side house and renovate it would be much more better.

Buy condo for its facilities? It facilities are crap? so much defects. Security good meh? high class place, sometimes foreign worker sneak in to stay. People walk in and out of the property also guard fail to notice. Swimming pool look nice at first, but see 5 years later lah.

Twist of unlucky fate

My work CV is as follows

3 years in Co A
6 months in Co B (not confirm)
4 years in Co C
3 years in Co D

So now I quit Co D and join Co E

It was very difficult to get job because so many HR ask why I not confirm for Co B. I tell them the truth, both me and employer parted ways- Co B refuse to confirm me during probation, I wasn;t suitable for them. But they have reservation about my candidacy. I don't get it if Co C and D no problem, why nowadays new co so bothersome with my record on Co B ???

So I decided to take it out from my CV.

But when I join Co E.

You know what?

Shit, I suddenly saw ex colleague from Co B join Co E. So I saw this person there, I wonder if she would expose me to HR. She saw me she was a bit surprise too, then she like to boast that she from Co B because it is a big MNC and people look up to it. But I scared if she will blabber out and say to others I worked there before.

I am very scared now because I never declare in my CV my work experience for Co E.

Why developers now use shitty L shape door knob?

I miss the days when developer use a simple cheap light wooden door with cylindrical knobs. Close with soft touch no bang sound.

Nowadays, stupid developers like to use this type of L shape door handle one below

When the door close by neighbor, you can hear the slamming sound

Nowadays you even see 1 million ringgit condo put this kind of lapsap door handle. People not just buy property for the fascade but also for the comfort of living.

These door handles are noise makers and disturb the peace of staying in a property.

Dragging chair on top of my unit

Heard neighbor on top dragging chair. So irritating.

I found some "chair socks" can buy from DIY and other sundry shops. Should I go talk the upstair neighbor or get maintenance office to talk to them?

Also maybe I can suggest them buy some chair socks, also good for them as this avoids them from scratching their marble floor. Do you think they will get offended and drag chair even more ?

Or maybe I get drop the leaflet "chair socks" advertisement under their door ?
