Why 3DS can play DS cartridge, but can’t run it?

Apparently i found out 3ds cant install ds games and play it using virtual console method like gba games

Why is that? How come gba (which 3ds doesnt support) can be played perfectly while ds (which 3ds support) can only use emulator which sux?

Last time i hate the bodoh vegan vegetarian movement, everyday want to enjoice kepsi, mekdi saje

Just now i ate a pack of vegetarian meal (because nothing else to eat) and i realised, wtf it actually taste quite good

So i thought abt it and i realise the only reason i hate vegan movement is because vegan food usually taste like crap.

But if tech advance and vegan food taste good (even if not the same as meat), would u be willing to turn vegan?

I had always thought the name Nintendo 3DS was a weird and random name

Until today i turn on the 3d feature on my new 3ds xl

At first i thought its just a crappy gimmick that make it blur

Then i realised its becos i was too close to the screen. After i move a bit further away i could see the 3D effect. AND IT REALLY WORKS!!!! ITS LIKE A REAL 3D KORRA IS REALLY THERE!!!

For the inexperienced like me, hacking 3ds seems really scary as its full of things and terms you've never encountered before, cfw, rom, homebrew, cia, 3dsx and whatnot

Hopefully this noob's experience of hacking 3ds will clear up some things for you.

For starters, currently all firmware (11.9 latest) of the 3ds can be hacked, meaning you don't need to watch out for nintendo updates, or what firmware you're running etc.

From what I know, homebrew-only is kind of like a limited jailbreak that doesn't do very much. While custom firmware (cfw) is a full jailbreak that lets you do lots of stuff like install every 3ds game for free, install gameboy advance games, and other console games by simply copy pasting .cia files from your computer to the SD card.

The guides on youtube (fredminer, seedminer, blahblahminer etc,) refer to different methods to hack, but they all end up with the same result, a custom firmware (cfw), basically a jailbroken os called Luma3DS. For me the simplest seemed to be fredminer and its what I used.

As for what you need, you need your 3DS, a microSD card or SD depending on your version, and a SD reader on your computer. I bought a 32gb microSD for $15 (RM45) and a USB microSD reader for $3 (RM9) at my local store.

The guide was pretty complete (with some slight differences to my own experience that doesn't seem to have much effect). However, a problem I experienced was at 3:26 when I couldn't find the DSIware app, or any other app in the eShop. I found out the problem was because my region was set to Singapore, and apparently the Singapore eShop doesn't have anything. To fix it, simply change the region in device settings to USA. Oh and to download anything from the eShop, you have to make a Nintendo ID which was very annoying. Other than that, there were no other problems.

After spending about an hour and a half (you could probably do it in 15-30mins), I finally finished the whole thing and then followed another guide to install Gameboy Advance games

Totally worth it! Spent total around RM300 and now I can play ALL my childhood games as well as all 3DS games, I think this is more worth than any other console, at least until someone hacks the switch or ps4

Ever since I found out that there was 3DS Legend of Korra game, I knew I had to experience it, no matter if its a crappy turn based strategy game. As I did more research, I realised that 3DS’s could be hacked to play GBA SP games like Kirby Nightmare in Dreamland and Super Mario 3 which were my beloved childhood games.

So I had begun my hunt for a 3DS a few days ago. One of the first things I realised was how expensive it was. People were selling their used 3DS XLs for like $150-200 (RM450-600), even for the old model. As I searched more and more, I realised many people selling at that price were selling them with some games included. After quite some time, I found someone willing to sell a *new* 3DS XL with charger, plastic cover and screen protector for just $100 (RM300). After deducting the price of the extra stuff (especially since nintendo doesn’t include a charger), and considering the great condition it was in, I would it was a pretty good deal

I tried out some functions like the camera and found out its really potato quality. For some reason the AR cards didn’t work, keep saying couldn’t be detected.

The 3D function is actually pretty cool, but I found that I have to turn down the 3D to about half if not my eyes will be pain. This actually makes me intrigued about what 3D tech is and why hasn’t it been implemented on other consoles.

Now, its time to figure out how to hack it. Anybody can PM me a guide pls… dunno wat is flashcart, homebrew, cfw, cia, rom
