Private school or Chinese primary school

Hi all

My kid will be attending primary 1 soon. I am thinking of sending her to Chinese primary school hoping that she will be good in mandarin and more discipline.

My wife prefer her to go to private school with national syllabus instead, mainly she thinks my child will get more attention (because of less student) and will be more outspoken in personality. She feels that Chinese primary school is too packed nowadays and not good for our kid. But I am worried that she will be a spoilt child going to this private school.

Just want to ask, if there is no financial concern, will you all send the kids to private school with national syllabus? Other than smaller teacher to student ratio, is there any other benefits going to private school?

Thanks in advance.

LPPSA Loan

Hi all sifu,

I have a housing loan with LPPSA.
Recently I have some extra cash of about 70k that I would like to put into LPPSA to reduce the principal balance.
I understand that I am allowed to make a payment once every year to reduce my principal. But I noticed that the transfer/Pay limit for my bank is only 50k max. And I cant do it in 2 separate transactions as the second transaction won't be able to offset the principal if I understand correctly.

Anyone knows any other method that I can pay LPPSA in order to reduce my principal? can I pay it by cheque over the counter?
Any advice will be very much appreciated.

Thanks.

Renting out through agent

Hi all sifu,

I have a place in Klang valley which I would like to rent out.

The issue with me is that I am outstation all the time, so that I’m interested to do it via agency. Would Like to know how should I go about doing it?

Do I just contact any agent in the area and pass them the key? Would it be safe?

How is the agent fees like usually? Is it like one month of rent?

Sorry for the amateur question. Would like to hear from you all. Thanks.

What do you think?

Hi all.

I have a relative in medical field. A specialist working in government hospital. He has been offered a job in Private hospital which is far from his current place, but the pay is 3-4x what he is getting in government hospital. He is still in dilemma whether to accept it or not.

But to me it is a no brainer isn't it? Anyone would have jump over because of the high salary i thought. Just need to spend some time to relocate family and stuff.

From my chit chat with him, he prefers the stability in government hospital although not earning as much. But does private hospital ever get bankrupt or retrench the doctors?

Tropicana Garden or V residence velocity

Hi all,

Would like to ask for advice regarding these two properties.

I’m not from Klang Valley and will be moving there for work purposes for a few years.

Which one is better for own stay with family with kids?
I’m looking to rent One of these properties. Particularly concern on the safety, traffic and tenant profile (prefer more local) of the property and the area. How’s the occupancy rate for these places (was browsing through the threads and seems like a lot of properties are quite empty?)

Has also browse through the thread for these properties, what I like is both are near to mrt or lrt. And has mall adjacent to them.

Any advice or comment is welcome.
