Can the company do so?

Initially I'm reporting to a manager, and suddenly, they put my reporting line to this manager's subordinate, and they didn't tell me, they just change it in our system and all approving line change to this new person. Can they do this?

Also, there's this plan where the company will take your best employee and place them into another team, so called growth plan for this selected employee, and you have to hire new and train them, then they take your 'ready make' people. Can they do this?

And the manager keep asking you do the task that's not mine, example sales strategy, it actually should be done by the current sales director, but bcuz i have vast saless exp in my past, I'm being asked to do or keep involving me asking my input, but I'm don't apply for a sales role here. And not like they appreciate or incentives me, the other way round, I don't get any credit for it. How do I stop this (apart finding new job) ?
