China's amended criminal law leaves young offenders with nowhere to hide

BEIJING (CHINA DAILY/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - Offenders as young as 12 will not be able to rely on their tender years to escape criminal punishment, as China amends its criminal law such that the minimum age of criminal responsibility can be lowered in special circumstances.

The change will take effect on March 1. It comes in response to a number of extreme cases, including intentional killing and intentional injury, committed by minors aged 14 and below that shocked the nation and triggered widespread concern.

Under the amendment, the age of criminal responsibility will remain unchanged at 16. However, juveniles aged 14 to 16 will also face criminal punishment if they commit crimes such as intentional homicide, intentional injury, rape or aggravated robbery.

PS: If voting age could be lowered from 21 to 18, i think the minimum age of criminal responsibility should be lowered to 14. Any serious crime like intentional homicide, intentional injury, rape or aggravated robbery, trialed them as adult.

ECRL cables stolen three days in a row ahead of operations

KUALA LUMPUR: The public should to stay away from the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) alignment following a series of cable theft and cable-cutting incidents in Selangor that could pose serious safety risks and disrupt ongoing testing and commissioning works.

China Communications Construction ECRL Sdn Bhd (CCCECRL) in a statement said the incidents occurred over three consecutive days from Sept 27 to 29 as the ECRL underwent testing and commissioning ahead of its targeted commencement of operations in December this year.

It said the ECRL alignment is an active testing area and is not open to the public, while railway systems, equipment, and cables along the alignment are either powered or undergoing live testing.

"Any unauthorised entry or interference with railway infrastructure therefore carries a serious risk of severe injury or electrocution," it said.

The company said cable theft and damage to railway infrastructure could also disrupt ongoing testing and commissioning works, as affected equipment would need to be inspected, repaired or replaced before testing could resume.

It said affected tests might also have to be repeated, adding that continued incidents could affect the project schedule and delay the planned commencement of operations.

Some people have called for N9 to have another PRN to "resolved" the crisis.
Actually Half of Melaka used to belong to N9 under the Luak Naning.
There is a large Minangkabau people (Adat people) in Melaka.
A'Farmosa Resort which was used to conduct the Pemasyhuran of Yamtuan-12 is located within the Luak Naning.
If you want to kown the mood in N9 just look at the Melaka PRN result this Nov.
If PH lost kaw2 again , then PH really need to do some soul searching for betting on the wrong horse/issue..
If PH gain some seat then it mean PH is on the right track.

The Mecca Defense Alliance took a significant step toward becoming a formal regional security bloc this week, as Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Pakistan agreed to establish a permanent secretariat in the kingdom under the new joint defense pact.

People see what happened in Malaysia school through their media coverage then they started the "Copycat" act....("If He can do, I also can do.....He has his vengeance...I also have my vengeance" kind of stuff)
It you see some crime show/news/investigation/film in US....the police/investigator did said about the act of "Copycat" trend by other.

Copycat effect
The copycat effect is the alleged tendency of sensational publicity about violent murders or suicides to result in more of the same through imitation.[2]

The term was first coined in the early 20th century, following crimes inspired by Jack the Ripper. Due to the increase of replicated crimes, criminologists soon began to believe that media coverage played a role in inspiring other criminals to commit crimes in a similar fashion, and even for non-criminals to begin committing crimes when they otherwise might not have done so.[3]

A 2004 book written by Loren Coleman called The Copycat Effect describes the effect that the media has on crimes and suicides, which are inspired by crimes that have been widely covered across the media. Coleman's view on the media is that the constant coverage of these events, rather than the events with a positive message, gives these criminals a type of fame. The five minutes of fame, book or movie that is dedicated to these criminals provokes other individuals with a tendency to behave in a similar way. Due to this type of fame, the "copycat effect" takes place.[2]

For the past 30 years, Air India only make profit for 5 years but few years ago SIA decided to invest in the lost making airline.

-Singapore Airlines reported a loss of S$945 million at Air India between March 2025 and March 2026 after acquiring a 25% stake.
-Challenges impacting the investment included a fatal aircraft crash, Pakistan's airspace restrictions, and rising jet fuel costs.
-Despite setbacks, Air India is undergoing a transformation under Tata Sons to revive the former state-owned airline.

Funding Request:
Air India recently sought approximately US$1.5 billion in fresh equity from its co-owners, Tata Sons and SIA.
Financial Drag: Air India and Air India Express recorded combined FY2026 losses of about US$2.33 billion.
Impact on SIA: SIA booked about S$945 million in losses from its Air India investment for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2026, contributing to a net loss for SIA in the first quarter of 2026

PS: I expect Air India to continue to asked SIA for cash injection for the next 50 years....every year also need CASH INJECTION....until SIA cut the loss.
