Problem with unifi fibre

This started to happen around last wednesday 27th Dec 2023, i will irregularly get connection timed out while visiting sites (most impacted one recently is github.com, speedtest.net)

Have also tried to contact TM for help, their technician came and factory reset-ed the router and its working fine for a while but its really hard to tell because this is really inconsistent.

And now the issue is coming back, looking for suggestions to troubleshoot this issue because I decide to give TM another call

What I have tried
- restart router,
- factory reset the router,
- use google's dns,
- use the assigned dns,
- disable ipv6, use ipv4 only

apparently my family members' devices are also facing the simillar issues

I personally cant tell much from tracert, it seems pretty normal and packets do get out of my router

update: might be related? https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/5149798/+0
update 2: today is 8th Jan 2024, the problem has miraclously gone, TM very sus

Router configuration issue

Hi everyone,

I have setup my computer as SMB file share server using windows 10 home (for personal use only), however theres this issue where if a new device connects to the router, it is not able to connect to the SMB server until my computer(the smb server) is disconnected from the router and reconnected to it.

All devices are connected through wifi.

I also tested it by hosting a simple http server on my computer and the same would happen.
Exact steps I took to test the http server:
1. Connect my computer to the wifi
2. Run the simple http server, py -m http.server
3. Make sure the server is running by opening localhost:8000 in browser
4. Connects my phone to the wifi
5. Attempts to open the http page hosted by my computer with its local ip (e.g. http://192.168.0.3:8000)
6. Shows ERR_ADDRESS_UNREACHABLE on my phone's browser (chrome)
7. Disconnects my computer from the wifi and reconnects to it
8. Test again on my phone, and the http page worked

Any idea what could be causing this? I am suspecting there is something configuration needs to be done from the router side to get this fixed.

How to seed a torrents in Malaysia

I believe all of us normal people will have internet with private IP behind our ISP's NAT. Does that mean we cant seed our own torrents?

Mechanical keyboard switch issue

Hi, I have a hyperx alloy fps pro here, had been using it for about a year.

The issue is for my 'A' key, i need to press deeper significantly for it to trigger as compared to other keys. It means pressing it normally sometimes might not trigger it and its starting to annoying me.

I had tried removing its keycap, press the switch down and blow into it thinking it might just be dust in it (idk if i should even do this lol) but the issue is still there.

What else can I do to fix this issue?

GDex really sucks?

Ok, so I have seen alot of bad reviews about GDex services in Malaysia. I bought a keyboard from an IT distrubutor and the seller says they ship with GDex and it's already being dispatched...now I'm concerned. (This is my first time buying things online btw).

My question is, the bad reviews I'm reading is several months old and I wonder did they made any improvement?

*It's shipping from KL to penang

Trying to setup DHCP Static on WLAN

I'm a TM Streamyx user and using Innocom W3410 modem, im trying to setup DHCP Static on wlan so whenever my laptop connect to wifi, DHCP would give me the same ip everytime i connect.

This laptop is both my home server and PC to me.

Anyone knows how do i do this?

** Setting static IP on windows is a solution but quite troublesome to me. Everytime i go out with my laptop and connect to other wireless network, i have to set Manual IP back to DHCP

TM Streamyx blocking Minecraft servers

IDK if anyone had encountered this before but i figured i would ask here :3

* I downloaded MC:BedrockEdition APK from random YT link and able to sign into xbox account

OK, so last month i was playing *Minecraft Bedrock 1.8.0 on BuildMCPE and suddenly i cannot connect to the server completely, but the server is still online.
And so i thought "nahh, i will just do Minecraft Java Edition"

And NOW, here it comes again, im playing Minecraft on computer using TLauncher(cracked launcher apparently), i had been playing a cracked server called ComicMC (ip: mc.cosmicmc.net), and suddenly yet again, i cannot connect to the server again ! I don't understand this, i tried reinstalling it and it doesn't work, i can still enter other servers for some reason, but do note that server that i cannot connectt usually are the ones i had been playing for at least a month

my ISP: TM Streamyx

Im wondering if TM Streamyx is behind this, heres a few things i made sure its TM Streamyx thats blocking me from accessing the server
** I made sure that my firewall is off before i tried connecting to the server, to make sure its not firewall thats blocking it
** I also tried connecting to the server using mobile data(my mobile ISP: DiGi) , and it works, i only cannot connect to the server from my home internet(TM Streamyx)
** Tried restarting my streamyx router, so it would not be router's fault
** Connecting the server using its IP doesnt work either(I got the ip by using "ping mc.cosmicmc.net" in cmd)

DO NOTE: The servers are all online when i failed to connect, and my internet is still working

What am i suspecting is that, when we are playing in MC server, we sends and receive ALOT , HELL LOT of packets throughout the server, i think streamyx might think its an DDOS, and blacklist its IP(This explains why i can still connect to other servers, only the ones that i played at least a month failed to connect)

THIS IS A LONG POST, SO ERM SORRY IF I MADE U GUYS READ THIS, ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

P.S. I asked the server's owner, they haven't seen this kind of problem before
P.S.S IM NOT BANNED IF U MIGHT SUSPECT/THINK

OEM Partition ?

Recently, I wanted to buy a new laptop but when I ask the seller whether is the bios settings are stored in hard drive or the chipset itself. He said it is in the hard drive.

That makes me wonder, where does it store it, is it in the oem Partition?

The reason I want to know about this is because if someday I like to switch hard drive on my own( I have experience doing that in the past ), how would I "extract" the oem Partition in the previous hard drive.

However, I have seen posts saying oem Partition is only created after windows10 April 2018 update. So, should I be concerned about oem Partition if I were to switch hard drive and clean install Windows with my own installer?
