usb jig is a handy tool that:
1. force the handset into Download mode through hardware signal, to allow re-flashing/reviving of a potentially failed ROM/kernel flashing (i.e. semi-bricked).
2. reset custom rom flash count, so that it won't show the count when you want to RMA/claim in case of any disaster happened.
3. to remove the yellow triangle during boot, after custom rom/kernel are flashed.

My company has purchase ~50 pcs of Kingston DT Mini for testing use, recently quite a number of units (at least 5 to 8) have faced problem such as hard to detect when plug in, casing crack near the USB gold fingers pieces by pieces, casing melt due to excessive heat generated when in use..
Here's some shots of the units at fault,

then came the interesting part..
the first attempt of sending the units for RMA was a let down as the distributor accused the customer used the units in rough way causing the cracks.
then complains were made directly to Kingston, and soon after that the distributor agree to take in the units for RMA.
then after a month or so, distributor came back with a "QA report" saying that the units are "easily broken under external force”, that they picked on the "external force" part and declined the RMA, accusing users for breaking the units with "excessive force", while conveniently ignored the "easily broken" portion.

being one of the users who carried the faulty units myself, i felt that the cracked casing is too thin with a void underneath the USB gold fingers, which easily susceptible to breakage given the fact that that's the part being exercised the most in actual usage.
A void with components underneath + thin plastic casing == design fault.
no excessive force was ever applied nor needed to break the drives, it just breaks after a few months of NORMAL usage.

Friend of mine has had similar experience with early batches of Kingmax's slim usb flash drive, where the key chain portion crack easily, his RMA claim was not only honoured, but a 1GB was repaid with 2GB unit, and soon after that we see design changes to the new batches of Kingmax's slip usb flash drives.
the latest batches was even fire and water proof!!
the key message here is, if u admit and learn from your mistakes, and improve from it, your products will thrive!
but sadly that doesn't seemed to be the case for Kingston, where customers need to pay for their design fault instead.

Need user opinions on Corsa tyre

In search of cheap and affordable tyres for everyday town drive to work,
came across this Indonesia made branding when I research for replacement tires.
Need user opinions in terms of:
- grip
- noise level
- lasting / durability

size 195/65R15, for my 12 years old accord. Not considering Yokohama or Michelin due to costing.

Previously were GoodYear, the current ones are Sumitomo (Japan made), not particularly impressed with both, in terms of noise and grip. in fact i reckon the goodyears actually provided better grip.

Please share your thoughts..
