Currently I have a contact willing to sell me the device, but responses from him are awfully sluggish, so I'm looking for anyone that is willing to sell their Fujitsu u820/u2010. Willing to pay higher if the item comes with its box and accessories. COD around Klang Valley, might accept deliveries from other states too if the conditions are OK.

Apologies to the mods if this thread's on a wrong location, so feel free to do what you see fit.

I need a help with a particular old item, the fujitsu u1010 UMPC (u810 I think for western countries?)

It's a hand-me-downs from a relative of mine, so everything was pretty much complete in the box (I even have the box, dongles and the recovery dvds). Problem is though while it powers up just fine with the AC adapter, the lifebook turns off when the AC adapter isn't connected, even when the battery plugged in. Thought the battery was dead, bought a battery straight from japan (shipping hell), and that didn't work too. So i'm out of wits here.

The only indication I found on the laptop relating to this problem is that the charging light is solid, but the battery light keeps blinking nonstop. I don't know about fujitsu's code for lights flashing and what they mean though. So... what's the problem?

1- is it the AC adapter?

2- is it the battery? can't be, the thing's brand new from japan! Granted not OEM, but where can you get OEM battery for almost 10 year-old UMPCs nowadays?

3- or is the motherboard (or at least the battery connector on the mobo) dead? I hope not!

if anyone of you out there who is a current owner of u1010/u810 or used to have one, really hope to have your input on this. I'm really hoping I can bring this back to life.

TL;DR: hand-me-down umpc, battery not charging but umpc is fine with adapter connected. new battery bought but same problem. HELP!
