Hard disk clicking noise.

So today yesterday night at 11 PM I thought "hey man, you haven't defrag that prawn disk for a while so why not give it a go, and I was like, yeah good idea" Nope, bad idea abort abort!! After finishing defragging one volume the dreaded clicking noise!! It's a soft sound clicking, like a silent typewriter just clicking non stop. So I read online and someone mentions this

QUOTE

Is the crackle loud or faint?.. its volume may help diagnose the cause... faint typing-like noise (like a tiny typewriter), is the head reading the disk platter, it may only need to be defragged for quicker access. Some WDs are noisy from the beginning and there isn't much you can do besides the normal defragging, disk checking and making sure it's data and power connections are fitted properly, and running a diagnose software to determine the HDD condition... Hard Disk Sentinel is very accurate in my experience, HD Tune and CrystalDiskinfo are also regularly recommended.

Source

After defragging the other volume on the hard disk the problem was fixed. I did changed the power and sata cable but that didn't fix anything. So, next time your hard disk is clicking, it's not a bad idea to defrag (do all volume on the hard disk). If that doesn't solve the problem then bad luck, it's probably going to die soonish (can't really say for sure). I check crystaldisk when its clicking and it says good, all blue icon and no red icon, no sector error reported.

Anyhow, hope it helps anyone searching around for a possible solution.

PS: Funny enough I heard it clicking like this before (many months or years ago) but it kinda past away (stop clicking) so I never payed too much attention.

Buy steam wallet with maybank debit card

Got bored today so decided to buy steam wallet directly from steam, for funsies and to my surprise, it worked!

First I tried buying RM150, didn't work but I got an sms from maybank saying I need to opt in for internet transaction. Thus I proceed to follow the instruction and just sms them back the required information (to the same number), wait a couple a seconds and now the card is activated.

Now I tried again, bought a RM15 steam wallet and it works. Best of all no extra charge, you buy RM15 you lose RM15 from maybank and you get RM15 steam wallet, FAIR TRADE. No markup nonsense, no bs and it's fast.

I did change my card about 2-3 months back so not sure if old cards can use to buy steam wallet but it's worth a try now.

Enjoy!

Edit: Typo

Does this explains why kids nowdays..

QUOTE

Women who smoke during pregnancy have violent children.

A study in Canada and the Netherlands found that when women smoke during pregnancy their children were more likely to engage in violent behavior. This was especially true for families with lower incomes and women who dropped out of school, abused drugs, or have criminal records.

However, women who have a bad history of drug use, run-ins with the law and dropping out of school are much less likely to have aggressive children if they don’t smoke during pregnancy. Only 16% of women who engage in the aforementioned anti-social behaviors who didn’t smoke during their pregnancies had physically aggressive children. That number shoots up to 67% for women who did smoke during pregnancy.

For families making less than $40,000 every year, 40% of the smoking mothers had violent children, compared to only 25% of the non-smokers. The research indicates that there are a lot of factors linked to having violent, aggressive children. That being said, smoking has proven to be an aggravating factor that significantly increases the effect of those other risk factors.
Source

Source

Seems like this would explain the ever rising of rebellious 2 inches around the world. Yeah there's other factors like drug use, law issues, dropping out of school and family incomes however let's take for example... a wealthy family then this article might be applicable.

What do you guys think?

He warned about the building’s vulnerabilities to terrorist attacks prior to both the 1993 World Trade Center bombing and the September 11 attacks. He predicted both attacks, implemented evacuation procedures for them, and led people out of the building both times.

In 1992, Rescorla warned the New York Port Authority about the possibility of a truck bombing in the building’s basement. When such a bombing did occur in 1993, Rescorla helped evacuate the building, and made sure he was the last person out. Prior to the 9/11 attacks, Rescorla warned again about another threat to the WTC: an airplane attack. His safety recommendations were not followed.

Rescorla was in the World Trade Center on 9/11, even though he was supposed to be on vacation. Once again, he led the evacuation efforts. After leading most of Morgan Stanley’s employees out of the building, he went back inside to rescue more people. He never came back.
Source

Source

I don't care much for 9/11 but what this guy did definitely touch me.

in b4 you touch my tralala, auw my ding ding dong.

Music Chills

QUOTE

The chills you get when you listen to music is called musical frisson.

This is caused by the release of a neurotransmitter called dopamine triggered by the music. The resulting chills alters the human body’s heart rate, breathing, temperature, and skin conductance. More pleasurable music increases the amount of dopamine released, contributing to more of the physical response.
Source

Source

Experienced this every time

QUOTE

Humans have invisible stripes!

They’re called Blaschko’s lines, after the dermatologist who first discovered them, Alfred Blaschko. It turns out that our skin cells arrange themselves on our bodies in a series of swirling stripes. However, since our skin cells are usually the same color it’s hard to notice.

People with certain medical conditions that cause skin cells to be different colors can have visible Blaschko’s lines. They can often only be seen with ultraviolet light.
Source

Source

Piap Piap Sound

QUOTE

Genitals Are Loudest Animal's Noisy Tools

Supporting the notion that it's not the size that counts, researchers have recorded the loudest sound ever produced from an animal when adjusted for its body size. The water boatman, a tiny aquatic insect about the size of a flea that lives on the bottoms of rivers and ponds, uses its minuscule penis to produce chirps as loud as a lawnmower.

The boatman makes the sounds by rubbing a special sound-producing appendage on its abdomen against its penis. How the tiny appendage -- only 50 microns long -- can produce so loud a sound remains a mystery.

Source

So can you make a noise louder than a lawnmower?
