Isma, PAS call for Coldplay concert to be cancelled in solidarity with Palestinian struggle

PETALING JAYA: PAS is calling for the highly-anticipated Coldplay concert to be cancelled, claiming this would be in solidarity with the Palestinian people.

Its Youth vice-chairman Muhammad Hanif Jamaluddin said the concert was a form of entertainment that contradicted the holiness of the struggle of Muslims standing in solidarity with Palestinians.

“At a time when the world is in solidarity in anger over the cruelty of the Zionists on the people of Palestine along with the Muslim world praying and hoping for the safety of Palestinians, this concert could be entertainment that would evoke His wrath,” he said in a statement.

Majlis Ulama Ikatan Muslimin (Isma) religious council chairman Datuk Zamri Hashim claimed that holding the concert now would be insensitive and disrespectful to the current humanitarian crisis in Gaza, Palestine.

“The council urges all Muslims not to get involved with the concert and would like to remind them that their ignorance of what is happening in Palestine is a sin which will be questioned.

“Isma urges that the concert be cancelled as a mark of respect for the misery and out of sympathy for those facing bombing and attacks in Palestine, where more than 11,000 lives have been lost,” said Zamri in a statement yesterday, as quoted by Sinar Harian.

Hey guys, I'm travelling to Australia next month. I plan to bring Cash around 1k AUD for 8 days if I'm short in cash i will be using Wise Digital Card.

Any advice? Should i just Change 1.5k Australia Dollars or just rely on Wise will do but they have small surcharge for converting.

Hello guys, i will be visiting Melbourne this coming November/December for 'The Weeknd' Concert.

i just bought the concert tickets yesterday, and i already apply my Visa yesterday. Im still waiting for my approval before i buy my flight tickets and i will be staying at my friends place .

Will i get approve within this few week? cos i did not attached my flight details the only thing i attached was my National Identical Card, Passport, my concert tickets as evidence for visiting.

Please advice.

KUALA LUMPUR: Voters should question what overall contributions have been made by Pas, even when the Islamic party formed an electoral pact with Barisan Nasional three years ago, says Pakatan Harapan candidate for Bentong, Young Syefura Othman.

She said PAS had often focussed on sensitive issues, which had led to accusations by the public that it was a racist party.

"But young people have more pressing issues that need to be solved such as the economy, low wages, unemployment, and housing," she said.

Speaking to a news portal, Young Syefura, also known as Rara, hoped the public would realise that PH could offer more and would do whatever was needed if the coalition wins power at the general election.

However, she said there was no denying Pas' influence in Pahang and that the competition will be stiff now that Perikatan Nasional, which comprises Pas and Bersatu, will be contesting all 14 parliamentary seats in the state.

Young Syefura also said that Bersatu, led by Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, was riding on the Islamic party's coattails as Bersatu did not have much support.
