Anyone with FIBER BROADBAND in KCH?

Anyone from KCH currently using a fiber optic internet? I am curious to learn from your experiences. Also, I am interested in pitching the interest to TIME as they seem to have a better deal on the fiber optic packages for small businesses and home in particular. I'll be interested to hear any feedback from those of you in particular using TIME fibre packages or fellow Kuchingites. We need the level playing when it comes to access to information & opportunities developing at an exponential rate out in the World Wide Web. The local government is only paying lip service to the "Digital Economy" hype without any clear public investment in Internet infrastructure (at least to my limited knowlege). Please educate if I've miss any concrete development in this realm.

Further, to illustrate in the attachment tweeted from Lowyat's founder, Vijandren, broadband package upgraded in a jiffy without PR stunts delays. As oppose to TM, they are so comfortable up there in the Tower looking down on us. I've gone to their KCH service centre on a yearly basis to ask about the possible switch to fiber in KCH, batu 12 (which is about 20km away from city centre). The response is the same each time, we have not put up the infrastructure. "Kena tunggu lagi" - polite automatic reply from obedient TM staffs.

[attachmentid=10073033]

Anyway, enough ranting the objective of this post is to brainstorm strategies of nudging Fiber Optic infrastructure investment in East Malaysia. Perhaps, on a smaller level, We, as would be consumers could register interest in Blocks to TIME so they might be interested in expanding over this side. Just thinking out loud here. TQ for your time!

[attachmentid=10073028]
