need opinions for a desktop gaming workstation

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a desktop gaming workstation. I've looked at ready built options from dell like the xps 8700, xps 27 aio and hp envy platforms. While I think they're sort of cheap, i think i'll be better off building a custom rig.

Budget:
below RM4.5k

Reusing from existing desktop :
wireless mouse & keyboard, speakers, wacom intuos pen & touch small, 23" led monitor. external portable hdd(s)

Purpose:
Will mainly be using it as a workstation for my 3d (sketchup, cinema 4d) and video (flash, after effects, premiere) work.
I'll also be gaming on it occasionally but that will probably be my secondary purpose. I'm planning to play grid2, f1 2013, crysis 3, watchdogs on it. I don't mind sacrificing the graphic quality a bit for performance as I think it will help bring the costing down priority is work .

Intended purchase date:
within 1 or 2 months

preference:
OS: 64 bit windows. (not sure if I should switch to windows 8 since I don't have a touch capable monitor)
processor - choosing between i5 or i7 (no intention to overclock)
ram - at least 8gb or more to help bring down render times.
graphic card - must be Nvidia as a lot of 3d softwares are utilizing the cuda architecture. (no need for quadro cards tho as the performance doesn't justify the costs and the 660 range also manage to beat some of the quadro cards.)
the rest of the features are open to suggestion(s)
