Missing or corrupt ntfs.sys

Hi all,

After running chkdsk on my hard disk and still not about to run my pc (BSOD + bad sectors), I decided to format my hard disc.

Now, whenever I boot my windows XP CD, I will get the following message after a while,

Missing or corrupt ntfs.sys, press any key to continue.
Then the computer restarts after pressing any key.

Basically I can't install a clean copy of XP due to the error above.

Any ideas?

Screen Flickers once then game lags

Hi,

I am using Win XP SP3, Dell Inspiron 6400, ATI X1400, 2x1gb ram. (Since Dec 2006).

I play games like PES 2010 and Civilization IV and after I play for a while, the laptop will flicker for like one second (the screen goes black for one sec) then the game will become very slow (lag). No virus on my laptop and not running a lot of programs(not even WLM). Not to mention I have a laptop cooler as well.

Then I had to quit the game and re enter the game to have a smooth game play. but it happens again after the screen flickers once.

This recurring problem has become more and more annoying and I would like to know a solution for this? Dying hardware?Anyone? Many thanks.

Cannot Startup Windows Normally

Hello I need some help here,

few days ago before i went for holiday my computer still working normally and my brother takeover, now it cannot startup the windows normally, will stuck at the windows loading screen..

however i can use safemode to login windows, last known good configuration can't.
I wanted to try system restore but it was turned off by my brother when i went for holiday.

I believe he wanted to try to settle dl.exe problem as i found a .txt file like this

This new version supports silent setup now.
Example: daemon408-x86.exe /S /D=F:\Some Folder\
Note that no quotes must be used in installation path even if name has spaces.
All critical errros will be still displayed no matter silent or not.
Case of parameters is important, eg. /s will not work.
Reboot prompt will not be shown.

If SPTD was not present then it will be silently installed but
PC will not be rebooted - it is assumed the administrator who
performs unattended install will take care of reboot and restarts DT setup after reboot in this case.

It is best first to use standalone SPTD installer and install it silently this way:

sptdinst-x86.exe add /q

Note: SPTD 1.37 will not display debugger warning dialog anymore. They left this info in EULA only as this message confuses many users and also not "silent setup friendly".

not the browser's proxy...

because a friend of mine wants to play an online game which allows Europe users only.
So he is wondering whether is there a method to change his IP to Europe 1

but in the end the game stil shows " IP blocked "

Last night i scanned my computer with kaspersky online scanner,
9 viruses found and 57 objects infected.
My computer does not have any antivirus or firewall.
I added the attachment of the kaspersky's online scanner report.
i posted a hijackthis! log too.

Bon Echo (Firefox 2) Alpha 2

Mozilla has recently released the next alpha version of Bon Echo (which will become Firefox 2), Bon Echo Alpha 2. This version is a huge step up from the Alpha 1, which seemed to have no changes besides the close button being moved on to the tabs. Among the new features are an RSS reader (similar to that of Safari and the one to be included in Microsoft Internet Explorer 7), a spell checker, and automatic restoration of your Firefox setup after a crash. This release is also a huge step up from Alpha 1 on a stability standpoint; many less crashes than before.
