dear sifus,

can i seek advice for the following situation:

the loan of the car recently paid off, car is now fully under wife's name (her 1st car);

now, i intend to buy her a second car, of which i believe her NCD will start from 0 for this second car (1st car NCD 55);

1) can i now buy a new insurance for the 1st car under her mother's own name (which then can release my wife's NCD 55 to this new car), OR

2) i need to transfer ownership of the 1st car to her mother thru JPJ to enable her mother to buy a new insurance, and release my wife's NCD 55% also;

a) For para 2, need to do all the PUSPAKOM, etc?

as the year end approaches....seek your kind wisdom for the following situation:

basically how much a MINI used car drops per year?

i had been told MINI's value is quite durable...as in between years it really does not drop much.

so, say if i get a 2015 model this year end (2021) and the same 2015 model next year (2022), the price difference is not much?

tax apportionment on freelance work

Dear sifus and gurus,

i am a sole-proprietor and a proper taxpayer.

for costs saving and business control purposes, i decide not to hire any associates, especially in today's economic climate.

however, i do have some incoming files / works which requires additional assistance in the form of my former staff, now an outsider / freelancer.

she is proposing for a 40-60 profit sharing, with her doing the background work while i deal with the Client.

now, the issue is on the tax side, as my side will be issuing the invoices and the receipts.

seeking advice / opinion here on how do we deal on the income tax side, as on paper / the eyes of LHDN, definitely my side is earning the 100%.

let's say for a better picture, the deal is about RM 30k, thus she will be pocketing about RM 12k clean.

do i deduct a certain percentage from this, seeing i would need to pay income tax for her portion (despite this 12k not going into my pocket!).

if yes, what would be the advisable percentage cut?

dear Sifus,

after 2 years of getting this new car, recently 3 months back i had just changed a new OEM set of Brake Discs and Brake Pads for front and rear due to excessive wearing.

one month ago, i had changed all 4 pieces of tyres with all balancing and allignment done.

now, yesterday i was at the official service centre, and was advised for my front brake pad balance is 85% while for my rear brake pad the balance is 65%.

both percentage was surprising to me considering the recent changes of all the above.

my driving style and distance are mainly city driving 80% and 20% city highway.... the only long distance i took during this period was a round trip from KL to Kuantan.

kindly advice on the situation.
