Hey all,

So I've been hunting for a laptop for some time now and am seriously thinking of getting either the Dell Studio XPS 16 or HP HDX 18T. Both fit my budget of rm7k so I'm in a dilemma over which one to pick. I need to know which is better for Adobe Photoshop (and other multimedia and animation appz like After Effects, Flash, Dreamweaver), watching movies, editing videos, surfing the net and playing some games. For the money I'm forking out, I'm not looking to change my laptop for a long time so I need something that's well-built and solid.

The specs for my configured Dell:

Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor T9400 (2.53GHz/ 1066 FSB/ 6MB Cache)
4GB (2 X 2GB) Dual Channel 1067MHz DDR3 SDRAM
16" 1080p Full HD WUXGA (1920x1080) Anti-Glare RGBLED Display with 2.0MP webcam
500GB SATA Hard Drive
Slot Load Fixed Blu-ray BD-ROM / DVD + /-RW Combo Drive
512MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3670

and the HP HDX 18T:

Intel® Centrino2 Core™ 2 Duo Processor T9400 (2.53 GHz, 1066MHz FSB, 6 MB L2 Cache)
4096MB (800MHz) DDR2 Memory (2048 x2 pcs)
18.4” Diagonal High Definition HP Ultra BrightView Infinity Display (1920x1080p)
500GB (5400rpm)
Blu-ray ROM with SuperMulti DVD±R/RW Double Layer
NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT with 512MB of dedicated video memory

My main concern about the Dell is that it runs a little hot as stated in NotebookReview as I use my laptop for long hours and sometimes leave it on overnight, but if it's the better choice for me, I'll find some solution to keep it cool.

I've never had a Dell or HP laptop before and I know very little about specs so please help me! Which would be better for me?
