Deposit paid for TV but it went out of stock later

Hi k, paid deposit for a very good deal tv a few months ago at one of the major retailers but found out it had gone out of stock and discontinued when I called to get delivery of order recently. I feel that the salesman should have reserved or contacted me when it's going out of stock. It is very upsetting and only want this tv or similarly good model and don't prefer a refund. Also I don't think this model can be found elsewhere at such price anymore.

Salesman and his manager mentioned they will try to find this model at other dealers but looks like chances are low especially price at other dealers might be higher and their marketing department won't approve it. So I proposed to offer me similar model a newer version but this seems unlikely.

What are my options and does this warrant a tribunal case?

Extension of Probationary Period

Hi, does anyone know whether an extension of an employment probation without an official reason stated in writing can be subjected to a payout to the employee? If there is any lawyer who can advise..

Case in point, employer extends the probation verbally at the end of the probation period without a letter stating pass or fail.

Trying to cover all bases before resignation is submitted.

Thank you.

Salary Negotiation after Offer

Negotiated salary with the company after receiving offer via email. During the interview stage, hiring manager who is a C-level mentioned doesn't like to negotiate, hence I guess that's why did not negotiate before the offer. He increased miniscule token amount when I nego, I requested for more due to benefits and AL less than current company plus it's fully wfo. HR informed that the hiring manager said i rejected the offer. I did not reject, just requested to increase. These words feel fishy to me. Anyway, they requested payslip so they could have a look and I gave to HR. The hiring manager also mentioned he will take a look tomorrow. After that, there is no answer from HR. I followed up the next day n received reply that awaiting a reply from her boss. Fast forward to the next day, which is today there is no reply yet.

Salary increase is good if compare to basic but only 1k more if current monthly allowance is included.

It has been 2 days. Should I worry about being ghosted or it being rescinded? The initial offer came quite quickly and I sense that hiring manager calls the shots.

Work Issues

Do you have work issues?

I don't think I have a supportive boss. For example when I asked a question, many times would get a response like you should know/ or why are you asking this/ why you asked me, I should reflect on myself etc. in a very sarcastic manner and it feels really demotivating. A bit of background, I have experience in my line of work, have been promoted and boss took over 2 years ago.

For own stay I think. Between Laurel and KL48, both also around 600sf. Kl48 is fh, bigger with 2r2b and fully furnished whereas laurel is smaller, lh, 2r1b and semi furnished but less dense than KL48 (1700 units). Location of Laurel seems more atas than KL48 however KL48 is more connected to the city centre.

Signed SPA in 2019 for unit sold by developer. The project was registered under the HOC campaign. Recently I received lawyer's letter to bear the cost of the title transfer. Does the HOC not include the MOT? Pakatan stated free MOT iirc, did the change in government make it void?

Cost of repairing water damage on Note 8

LDI indicator turned red but phone is still working after 24 hours with fingerprint not working notification now and then. Can see a bit of tiny water droplets in reverse camera lens. Any idea how much it would cost to repair? I think it's better to backup my data n wait for the phone to KO than the hassle and cost of sending to Samsung service centre.

Parents' refusal to drive the better car

My mom rarely drives her newer and better car and rather keep it at home for protection. For example's sake, let's just say we have an axia and mazda among other cars. The only time she drives the more expensive car is to take it for a wash, otherwise it is kept in the house. On long trips, she'd rather take the cheaper car even though the whole family goes along. She never let us enjoy her nice car until a newer car comes along. The mazda is only 2k mileage even though it's 10 months old. I tried to talk to her about this so many times but she doesn't care, and my dad doesn't care too and even refuses to drive the new car in case he scratches/dents it. Everytime she changes a car this is how she would treat her new car. Can you help me see the logic in this?

Do I need a property manager?

Any landlords here? I have a new tenant soon which is recommended by another agent that is not my agent/property manager. Under the previous tenant the property manager's company would collect rental from tenant/handle any issues since I'm outstation and I pay 10% for the service every month. Since an external agent managed to find me a new tenant, do I keep the existing property manager or will the new agent take over? I'm not sure how this industry works. I actually prefer dealing with the property manager because he is always responsive and so far have no issues dealing with him except for paying the 10% part Can I back out?

My family and I have been feeding a stray cat, it likes to enter our house even though my parents dont allow it. Sometimes it manages to sneak in. Like just now it sat on my bed. Should i change the sheets? I can see dirt marks on it. I washed it few days ago and I'm so mad at the cat now.

In case you're wondering. The cat is neutered. My parents don't allow me to keep it indoors.

Installing plastic roof above balcony?

This question is for condo/apartment/service residence. Are we allowed to install a plastic roof over a large balcony on the ground floor? The unit is same floor as swimming pool and above the parking levels, I wonder if plastic roof can be installed for privacy. The idea is to make an outdoor dining area and forgo indoor dining area due to limited space.
