Ping test between Unifi&Maxis

Recently switched from Unifi 800mbps to Maxis 500mbps package, didn't notice much different between them, the only noticeable different is Maxis load China websites much much faster

For gaming, Overwatch ping+delay Unifi is about 20ms and Maxis is about 22ms, not much different.

I've done some ping tests using PingPlotter, just for reference

Those ISP in SG like Singtel, Starhub and ViewQwest results were based on Speedtest.net

As for Netflix, it seems something's wrong due to it doesn't respond to my ping test, but I have no problem watching it, loading is fast too, didn't notice any delay or lag.

My conclusion for personal experience is, almost no different between them in daily use, even gaming. Unifi is 1ms or 2ms faster on most websites but Maxis is much faster on China website.

Maxis fibre signed

Just switched from Unifi to Maxis 500mbps plan, but maybe due to too many new signup, they are running out of default TP-Link C5v + AirTies mesh, so what I got from them is TP-Link AX10 + Deco M4! Plus a Samsung 65" TV for RM1 monthly, so my total cost will be like 220*24+6% Tax = RM5596.80, free gift is AX10 RM259, Deco M4 RM360, Samsung 65" TU7000 RM3500, total up is about RM4119.
5596.80 - 4119 = 1477.80
Monthly is about 1477.80/24 = about RM61
Thanks Maxis

XiaoMi AX3600 AX1800 AX5 Vlan tagging

It's hard to explain with text, so I made a YouTube video, hope you guys can learn from it. These XiaoMi routers are OpenWRT based, logically once you get SSH access, you can do whatever you want, if you familiar with OpenWRT. From my personal experience, the AX3600 beats all my routers/APs in hand, including Asus GT-AC5300/AC86U, Huawei AX3/AX3 Pro, Ubiquiti nanoHD/LR, Aruba IAP-225/IAP-315, MikroTik cAP ac/hAP ac2/Audience and many many more in terms of coverage and speed. Also, instead of writing their own firmware, XiaoMi decided to use OpenWRT and put a pretty GUI on top of it, so it's basically OpenWRT router + official Qualcomm driver(NSS enabled), with a decent skin, stability isn't a problem anymore, and due to official driver, performance is great too, it can also do QoS with full speed of my 800/200 Unifi plan. Regarding mesh, I see no lagging during roaming APs, 802.11 k/v and Qualcomm Wifi-Son supported, tested with ping in iPhone, FaceTime and MobileLegend. Love it! AX1800 is about 5% lower than AX3600 in WiFi, and can only do QoS at about 500mbps, without QoS can fully run my 800/200mbps, so my personal recommendation is to get an AX3600 @RM340 from Taobao, and add AX1800 as a mesh AP if you need any extra coverage, both wireless and LAN can do, @about RM170 each from Taobao too.

Comparison with Huawei AX3 Pro (not AX3) : https://www.acwifi.net/9937.html

How to add vlan tagging: https://youtu.be/jdg9KaC4LpY

2 meters from router:

D-Link agrees to settle FTC charges

Router and webcam maker D-Link has agreed to implement a new security program to settle charges it failed to safeguard its hardware against well-known and preventable hacks and misrepresented its existing security regimen.

Tuesday’s agreement settles a 2017 complaint by the US Federal Trade Commission that alleged D-Link left thousands of customers open to potentially costly hack attacks.

If a company needs to be sued in order to get them to issue firmware updates, then users need to take that info into account when deciding on what to purchase. When they go out of their way to block 3rd party firmware use while also refusing to fix well known security issues, that behavior is in the realm of being malicious.

IPv6

Anyone using IPv6? Do you see any differences/performance between IPv4 and IPv6? Been using it for months but doesn’t see any different so I’ve turn it off just to simplify my network, I always believe simple is nice and trouble less. Unless I can get benefits from it, so I wonder if anyone see the advantage of it, thanks ya

Anyone using Netgear router?

Is anyone here using Netgear router? Can you get connection with TM Unifi IPv6? I've tried all I can to get the connection up but no luck, I have no problem with my AC86U but for this R7800, it seems broken in IPV6.

R7800 can connect IPv6 using Lede/OpenWRT, but stock firmware takes forever to get the IPv6 work.
