Hi and hello people!

The name's Nicholas, and I've been holding a DSLR for about 2 years plus now, but I'm definitely still learning with each coming day.
I just thought of sharing pictures I've taken, and also, I'm a graphic design student, with so,
you'd probably see photographs which are more than photographs,
some might be photograph + some visual experiments, or random photo-manipulation attempts.

Wiring a broken down audio system to a PC.

Hi guys,

I was doing a little spring cleaning and I found my old broken down audio system (It was for home entertainment, I'm not sure if Hi-Fi is fitting, not a man of terms.). The main body which controls everything don't work anymore, I think it got fried from a thunder strike or something. So, I was wondering whether if it's possible to convert the 2 speakers for PC use?

System Model: JVC SP-UXP78V

PIC#1: Back of the speaker, it functions with wires instead of cables.
PIC#2: The port to put the wires. Both speaker and body are connected using this method.

Hi fellow photogs,

My sister is gonna have a trip to Langkawi soon, and she wants to borrow my DSLR for photographing over there. Knowing that dust and sea water is one of the camera's most well known enemy, do you guys have any tips on handling this situation or any guides to recommend? Enlighten me please, fellow experienced photog sifus.

The aftermath of a modem change.

Having doubts where should I post this, its about networking but more to the hardwares.

I've just recently got a new modem, as my previous one got fried by a surge through my phone line. Seriously crappy weather, been raining cows and baboons throughout the whole week.

Anyways, my previous modem was a ZyXEL Prestige 600 series, and I was pretty pleased with its performance, being able to pump up to 140kbps for torrenting at good times, and never drops below 120kbps when I'm download hot stuffs like newly released animes and movies.

But after it got fried, I'm now using a HUAWEI SmartAX MT800A and it kinda sucked, well, for me that is. My torrenting speed at max could only boost up to 35-40kbps, and whenever I on my torrenting software, it seems impossible for me to load a page on the net. This modem is really being mean to me. I'm not sure if it makes any difference, but this MT800A is a friend's modem, it has a TMNET logo on it. Do they temper with the modem to cap the speed? Or does this modem suck on its own?

Hope you guys here could help me out with some doubts I have in mind, as I'm getting another modem for sure.

1. Is 120/140kbps a decent download speed for hot torrent? If yes, would you recommend me on getting back the same modem? If not;
2. What other modem that you have used that performed better and would be a good deal for my money?

Some other info that might/might not be useful;
1. I'm running on the RM77 Streamyx package.
2. I'm using a router. 2 computers only.
3. I portforward my torrenting.
