Good guitar instructor in Cheras

I'm a guitar beginner and has been learning for the past 1 year but I feel like my progress is very slow with the current instructor / teacher. Does anyone has someone to recommend who's good in beginner teaching especially fingerstyle? (cheras area)

Solid top ukelele suggestions

Hi, I'm new to ukelele, have half a year of acoustic guitar experience, not planning to go professional just play for fun. After I done my research I found out there are 2 brands which are quite popular in Malaysia, 1 is L.Luthier and another 1 is Ukunili. For L.Lutheir I can go to their store as it's in PJ to try it out but Ukunili is based in Johor. Both brand top solid tenor ukelele is priced below rm500. I find the top sound hole of l.luthier interesting, but ukunili is offering free ukelele stand and free engraving which is quite tempting too.

Anyone has experience with both brand? Would like to hear your experience on any of it. Thanks alot

Taylor vs Cort

Hi all,

I'm considered a new joiner for guitar (<half a year experience) and is looking to purchase a mid-tier guitar which I'll probably keep forever.
I'm using a Norman B18 Cedar which was purchased by my brother 8 years ago and I love how it sounds, the problem is I don't feel comfortable to the dreadnaught body and looking for something which is smaller / more comfortable to hold.

These are the things I want in my new guitar:
i) GA / GC body
ii) With a pickup
iii) With a cutaway (purely because I think it looks cooler)
iv) The sound is more towards warm and mellow rather than sharp and bright (as I want to play more towards fingerstyle music in the future)

After doing some researches, I found that a Grand Auditorium or a Grand Concert will probably fulfill what I look in a guitar. A body that is easier to hold but not too small so it doesn't lose much of its volume a dreadnought guitar has.

The Taylor 114CE and 214CE is recommended by many but it has a laminated wood back and sides so there are also many who says go for a smaller brand which has full solid wood. Then I saw Cort Gold A6 fulfill that requirement. It is priced at RM2.8k while 114CE is about the same while 214CE is RM700/800 more expensive. I would also like recommendation of any guitar from the Norman sister's company ( Larrivee / Seagull etc) as I really like how my Norman sounds.

Which 1 should I go for? Is laminated back and sides really bad? Or solid top is enough? You guys can also recommend me some other brands too as I don't have much knowledge in it... Thanks.

Late EPF Payment

Here's the thing:
First month working in this company but under contract with another agency company, they pay their salary on 28th every month. I received my salary last month on 28 and checked with my epf account (iakaun) to find out I did not receive any amount until today (15th October). My previous experience told me that once I receive my salary the EPF amount will be deposited into my epf account and iakaun amount will be updated on the spot as well. The agent's excuse is: they make payment after 16th every month, but maybe EPF won't update the amount because they don't update the iakaun amount ots. I think this agency company is bullshitting tho. Anyone experience this before? Anyway I found this too:

http://www.kwsp.gov.my/portal/en/employers...terest/dividend

So is it possible for them to make the transaction after 15th? I don't think so.

How to get into investment field (buy/sell) side

Hi, I'm a fresh grad who just graduated from the course Finance & Investment. I've been searching for investment research job such as Equity Research Analyst / Fixed Income Research Analyst. I realize most of the them requires at least 1/2 years of experience. So how can a fresh grad like me can get into this field? Heard that the turnover in this field is really low so fresh grad most probably can't get in there. But then if there's vacancy they require experience people... So far I only get 1 interview after applying for more than 10 asset management companies. Will getting a CFA help me? Thanks.
