In step 6 where i have to choose which partition should i used for installing n other for swap thingy..is it swap partition is a temporary place coz i split my 20gb into 15:5 gb which mean i just make 5gb leftover for swap file and..i can't see my other ext which is the other 5 gb in my System.

after a few times trial n error:i get error msg about i didn't choose my swap partition, no root detected,etc..i finally made it! yes installing ubuntu success n i love it.

First thing first after playing with a few application including using terminal i check my networking for my internet connection..a must for any computer..ubuntu detected my ethernet card but i have to manually config my modem so i did; using terminal for pppoe config and at modem properties and it works a 1st time..phew

Using rythmbox music player n totem 1st time..didn't work at first coz i didn't install gstreamer plugin so right now i can play my .mp3 files and .avi.

Surfing www and ecounter a problem..i didn't have any java runtime install so i download it but here are the problem i can't solve. Using terminal i try install the files but it said
E: couldn't find package jre-1_5_0_09-linux-i586.bin

i've read the instruction but can't work it out..how to install the right way using apt and location for the file should be installed

yeah..another one..when i plug off the SATA 2 cable for my 2nd hd(install linux in it) and after restart i got error msg; "can't load GRUB" n i realize i can't boot my microsoft xp
how can it happen? it shouldn't behave like that right?
