Need recommendation for pc sound card

Currently I'm using Edifier C3, the sound clarity is great, but not very satisfied with the bass, especially when movies and gaming.
Using onboard sound at the moment, and I plan to get a dedicated sound card for my setup.

This is my new rig, spec as below.

I bring this rig back to home, then I load in the xp cd, it's confirm that the cd is bootable.
But the screen stop responding at Verifying DMI Pool Data > Boot From CD/DVD

I've tried replacing the ram, clear CMOS, but the problem still persist, any idea about this problem?
