Whenever we make a significant mistake, we spend a bunch of time looking at what happened, why it happened, and how we can fix it. Most of the time we do this privately, but in our recent mistake around Diretide, we felt sharing our analysis with you made sense.

First, what happened – we didn’t ship a Diretide event this year, and you were rightly upset about it. That was clearly a mistake, and then we compounded the problem by not telling you what was going on.

So, why didn’t we ship Diretide?

We have a huge update in the works that looked like it would be finished in time for Halloween. Stopping that update to work on Diretide seemed like something you would actually be unhappy with us for, because the update is pretty significant. More on that later.
Turning on last year’s Diretide event wasn’t trivial. We’d done a year of work on the game which had changed our codebase, UI, and other systems enough that we would need to do some work to resurrect it.
We underestimated how much you wanted Diretide.
We made the decision a while ago, and failed to employ our usual process of regularly asking ourselves whether we were still on the right track. There were a bunch of people on the Dota 2 team who poked at the decision to not do it as Halloween approached, but due to how busy everyone was with our next major update, no-one really took the time to step back and objectively realise we were being collectively crazy.

Due to our poor prediction of your reaction, and the team being focused on the next update, we didn’t spend enough time thinking about talking to you about our decision. As a result, by the time we’d realized we’d made a bad decision, the pitchforks were out.

Then, why didn’t we communicate with you what was going on?

You were already mad and disappointed in the lack of Diretide. Telling you that you weren’t getting it at all wouldn’t have really helped much. Now we started thinking in terms not of “what should we say?”, but in terms of “what should we do?”
We were, and still are, confident that you’ll be happy when you see what’s in the next update (which isn’t far away now).

Now, what is the fix?

First, we’re going to ship Diretide with the next update. The rest of the update we’ve been working on is in final testing, and as each of us finish up our work on it, we’ve been jumping over to Diretide. Second, we’re pretty sure the update that we’ve been working on for a couple of months is going to be pretty significant. In addition, we’ve made a few changes to Diretide that we think makes it more fun than before. And while we always want the community to tell us exactly how we’re doing, this is probably a good time to stop cc’ing innocent car manufacturers with your messages.

Paying attention to what is happening in the community around Dota 2 is one of the most important aspects of what we do at Valve. And while we are clearly not mistake-proof, hopefully it is useful for us to walk everyone through our process for recognizing and then fixing our mistakes.

How to distribute incentive money?

My boss just come out with incentive money scheme if we hit our sales target.
For instance the incentive my team get this is 10k, how to distribute it fairly between the 4 profile below?

a) Team leader
- make sure manage to achieve at least minimum target for incentive entitlement every month
- find more client to hit higher sales target
- manage worker (b), © and (d)

b) General worker 1
- 10yrs exp
- do 30% of the job

c) General worker 2
- 5yrs exp
- do 70% of the job

d) Clerk
- data entry
- filing
- invoicing

Other things to consider when dividing the money
- medical leave
- attending training (that means he's not contributing to sales, but nevertheless it's good for the company)
- (b) + © must < (a)

PETALING JAYA: Despite mountainous odds, Malaysian poker ace Mervin Chan toppled the world's best card players to sweep up RM5,172,624 (A$1.6mil) in cash.

Chan, 29, won the final round of the 2013 Aussie Millions Main Event against seven other high-stakes professional players after a gruelling eight-day competition.

In addition to his cash prize, Chan also took home a brand new Chrysler 300C car worth RM129,000.

“I'm speechless! I'm feeling really great to have all this cash. I'm just feeling really, really, really great,” said Chan in a video interview shortly after his big finale win against 2011 Melbourne Poker champion Joe Cabret.

Known as “The Cat”, Chan stuck out from his group of highly successful entrepreneur friends for his wildly unorthodox career choice of being a high-stakes poker player.

And what a victory it was.

A David among the Goliaths and with fewer chips than some of his contenders, Chan endured through the card-flying gauntlet as the bigger players crashed out one by one.

His opponents included former Aussie Millions $100,000 Challenge 2010 champion Dan Shak, two-time World Series Poker finalist Patrik Antonius, 2010 Victorian Poker A$500 No Limit Hold'em champion Joseph Cabret, Jarrod Glennon, Jay Tan and David Yan.

The final was down to Cabret and Chan with the chip count around even at the beginning of heads-up play their face-off lasted 10 minutes.

Cabret started off by leading for 1.2 million, Chan quickly responded by raising it up to 3 million and Cabret played back with an all in.

Chan snap-called and tabled an 8-6 of Spades combo which put him ahead of Cabret's A-3 of Diamonds flush draw.

“I was down to maybe a million and I got pretty lucky because I climbed two spots while the rest got eliminated. I doubled up a few times ... and I was in the game again,” said the poker ace as he triumphantly displayed his trophy and winnings.

Playing any of the eccentric characters of the “Warcraft” universe would fit right up Depp’s alley considering his past work including Edward Scissorhands, Jack Sparrow, Sweeney Todd and The Mad Hatter. Next up for the star will be the role of Tonto in Gore Verbinski’s “The Lone Ranger”.

I jus got approval from PBB for loan amount of 250K, the price for the property is 320K.
I was offered BLR -2.5 for the 1st year, -2.45 for 2nd and 3rd year, and -2.4 for the rest of the tenure.

Is the BLR rate offered good enough? Anyone having experience dealing with PBB?

So I have to take 18K loan from Ambank with 6% interest per annum.
I have paid the monthly repayment of RM590 for 10 months.

TAIPEI - THE family of a late Taiwanese mafia boss has donated NT$60 million (RM 6 million) to charities to fulfill the gang leader's dying wish, the authorities said on Tuesday.

Lee Chao-hsiung, an influential triad leader in central Taiwan, died of liver cancer on March 11 aged 73, local media said.

His son donated the money in his name to disabled people and low-income families as well as four major religious organisations, the Taichung city government said in a statement.

About 1,000 people, including several gang bosses, attended a ceremony on Monday to set up a make-shift shrine for Lee, known as the 'mafia arbitrator', the Apple Daily said.

Lee was best known for helping to negotiate the release of a number of kidnapped politicians and businessmen, including Taichung city council speaker Chang Hung-nien, the report said. The paper did not specify what types of crime Lee was involved in as an underground gang leader.

His funeral, set for late April, is expected to draw more than 20,000 people in one of the island's largest gang funerals, it said. -- AFP

An American Hummer dealership will give away a Browning Citori White Lightning shotgun, worth $2,000, with every new Hummer they sell.

Lynch Hummer in Chesterfield, Missouri is one of the highest selling Hummer dealerships in America, and last year they decided to add guns to their showroom.

With the recent ‘wind-down’ announcement from GM (the makers of Hummer) the dealership’s owner, Jim Lynch, says that he wants his Hummers to go out with a bang.

"There is now real reason to believe that the current inventory on hand at dealers may be the last of the new Hummers, we wanted to send them off with something memorable," he says.

"Browning and Hummer are prestigious brands and American Icons - bringing them together is a natural fit.

"The guns have been a huge hit with our Hummer customers and now we are taking the 'Guns and Hummers' concept one step further," says Lynch.

Not everyone who ends up behind the wheel of a Hummer will also get their finger on a Browning trigger, though - buyers will be bound by the same legal requirements as any gun purchaser before they get their gun.

The free guns are only available while stocks last, and a gun rack isn’t included in the purchase price.
