To do in local university or go private college.

i'll start with my background.

im currently doing my final semester of diploma in electronic engineering at universiti teknologi malaysia (UTM). if i am to continue my degree here,i need another 3 years (i've spend 3 years in diploma and is only allowed to transfer credit for one year in degree, the total duration of degree is 4-years here). so total i'll need to spend 6 years to complete my education before coming out to work.

right now there's another alternative for me, which is to continue my degree at KOLEJ BANDAR UTAMA (KBU international college). if im to join them then i'd only need to spend 2 years to complete my degree, plus i'll be receiving cert from the University of Sheffield Hallam as they have some sort of join program with them. but the problem now is the fee is quite expensive for me (my family financial status is not very good). that day i've went to the sin chew education fund interview and if im so lucky to get it, then i've to make up my mind before june.

now, im calling for those who are currently students of bachelor of electronic engineering students of KBU and UTM, i seriously need your advice and opinion. joining UTM will save me lots of money but i'd spend an extra year, while joining KBU save time but it cost a lot to me.Even if i get the sin chew scholarship,it's only enough to cover my tuition fee and im not sure whether i can stil apply for loan like PTPTN, kindly advise me.

At the same time i wish to know more about the study facilities of each university and college, especially KBU coz that day i went for the open day and i doubt they have enough facilities like lab to fulfill students need (sorry but no offense for KBU students), that's why i need your opinion and correct me if im wrong.

for those who are currently studying at MMU (Multimedia university), i need to get our response as well coz i've asked and they say i might need another 3 to 3.5 years to complete my degree if im going to join them...any1 who has friend who was transferred from other university, may i know how are they doing now?

The final question is i need to asked if any1 of u is a registered engineer of BEM (board of engineer Malaysia), is it true that the BEM is not recognizing 3-years-engineering degree qualification now? i've heard from the interviewer that currently BEM only recognize 4-years-engineering degree courses. Kindly advise me if u have any info.

i know im a bit long winded but i seriously need help from everyone...i hope that this thread can also be a guide to future engineering students and help them in their tertiary studies...thank you.

[addedon]May 1, 2007, 1:55 pm[/addedon]btw, i do not wish this thread to become a "battle ground" among universities and college students...hence if u have info which is "case sensitive", please DO NOT post here, you are welcome to PM me instead, thanks for corporation.
