Taman Increasing Break-Ins

My neighbourhood (located bordering BTHO) have been reporting atleast one break-ins per month since start of this year. It is mid-income lvl type landed housing.

My taman used to have guard house, but many ppl in our taman are uncooperative and unwilling to pay after first few months. Because of that, our guard house got disbanded earlier this year (2024). In fact, the committee tried to setup guard house multiple times past two decades, but always ended up in failure because many ppl only care about themselves and dont pay consistently - making it unsustainable.

The first week after guard house disbanded this year, already got reported case of break-in during CNY.... and the neighbour that got hit was one of the few that actually paid regularly for security until got disbanded. Not only that, even some neighbours working off-hours started seeing cars roaming around the neighbourhood during wee hours.

I feel that this neighbourhood is getting increasingly unsafe, and I'm worried for my elderly parents. Currently the house have auto-gate with lock function (once it closes fully), a broken outdated alarm system and no CCTV.

Asking for advice, is it better to invest to upgrade alarm system and CCTV, or would it be better to move out to stay in condo? Some of these reported break-ins houses were equipped with CCTV and alarm systems as well. I dont think my neighbourhood will change their attitude at all given what happened past two decades.

Hi all,

I have thin and soft hair that falls flat every time i try to create volume with hair styler (e.g., gatsby moving rubber air rise or styling pomade urban dry).

My current process is like this:

1) Bath
2) Dry with towel
3) Blowdry heat + comb to style shape the hair
4) Hair styler

After further research, alot of ppl have recommended prestyler like sea salt spray but it is not so common in Malaysia. Does anyone have recommendations for prestylers like sea salt spray or any other hair styling products that can provide good volume and hold without being too heavy? Suggestions to improve my process is also appreciated...thanks

How to Sell BNIB or Used Items safely via COD?

Hi,

lets say I want to sell stuff worth > RM 500. Most buyers usually want to COD, is it safer to COD at my house in a neighborhood protected with competent guardhouse or is it better to do it at mall?

What other guidelines are there that I should follow when I want to sell item safely using COD method?

Thx..

Would you buy better than single seat in cinema?

Assuming you go cinema alone,

would you buy a couple seat so you can watch more comfortably alone and dont need to sit so near other ppl?

Or would you buy 1 extra seat next to you so no one will sit there (at the side seats of the hall)?

Or just single seat enough?

A mutual friend of mine always argue that its more worth buying more than single seat so that its a more comfortable watching experience alone but I feel that sometimes can be waste of money. What do you guys think?

Public Transit into Technology Park Malaysia

Hello all,

I'm new to this forum, please let me know if im doing anything wrong with regards to this post. I know that there are duplicate posts on this topic specifically, but i feel that I need opinion on my current circumstances.

I recently found a job opportunity at Wisma Standard Chartered located at the outskirts of Technology Park Malaysia.

Due to my circumstances, I have planned my daily mode of transportation around public transit. I mainly rely on getting to Bukit Jalil via LRT and transferring over to the T580 RapidKL bus that goes to LRT Awan Besar via TPM which allows me to get to my workplace since there is a bus stop 2 mins away. However, there are several issues:

1) Apparently, TPM does not allow RapidKL buses to enter after 5.00pm during weekdays, and my official working hours end at 6pm.

This is something i dont understand from TPM management. Why put bus stops all around TPM to allow people to access TPM early in the morning but not in the evening? Do they not realize that those people that use the bus in the morning will also have to use the bus to get back from TPM? Not only that, during my dry run testing out the buses from LRT Bukit Jalil using this bus route, I realize that the bus does not go into TPM during the weekends (probably due to lack of demand), which was not explicitly mentioned anywhere (or im just blind). Wouldn't this be an issue for workers that work during the weekends in TPM?

2) Optionally, I can walk to and from LRT Bukit Jalil all the way to Wisma Standard Chartered via TPM

However, that would be too far since TPM is very huge. I can also consider renting at Arena Green, but still Wisma Standard Chartered is all the way at the other side of TPM. Walking would easily take 30-40 mins, not to mention being sweaty. Though, I don't mind too much since the pedestrian infrastructure is okay, just that it can be tiring.

I also considered renting at ParkHill or PPA1M, just right behind APU but outside of TPM. Park Hill and PPA1M is within walking distance to LRT Bukit Jalil, providing me the public transit needs and it is also much closer to Wisma Standard Chartered when walking, cutting the unnecessary lengthy walk that I need to take if i were to walk directly via TPM entrance. But as it turns out, despite being such a strategic location to open another gate access with direct connection to LRT Bukit Jalil, TPM still havent done anything to it yet. Even during my uni time at APU, alot of students and workers have complained about this issue, yet nothing has been done. I assume TPM doesnt have enough budget for this, or they just dont care at all. So that option is out of the window.

So, my options to go to work early in the morning is to either: 1) Take the bus, 2) Walk or 3) Grab / Taxi. And getting back from work is either: 1) Walk, 2) Grab / Taxi. Without renting anywhere near bukit jalil, travelling home takes so much time (I live near Alam Damai), and i can foresee that will take a heavy toll on me physically and mentally.

I think renting is the only choice at this point, what do you guys think?
