Part 1

Dear all,

I am here to share a story of mine, happened 7 months ago. First of all, I would like to apologized for my england. Not very power, but I will try.
Back to May 2010, I dated this girl. She was my first love, a very loving lady, always sweet and cheerful. We were very very happy together at that time. Few months into the relationship, I found out that she's leaving to oversea to further studies, to New Zealand for a year. (We are working adults at that time) I never trusted long distance relationship, so i decided to break up with her. She held me back and assured me that we will do fine, and yes, I was touched and we decided to go on with our relationship.

Times flies, we'd dated for 2 years already and it has come to the day she need to leave to New Zealand. I sent her to the airport, on our way to the airport, we both cried so hard in the car. We didn't talk to each other except crying and crying and we held each other hands tight. I stopped by at the side of the road (after KLIA toll) and we started kissing and we went on to the airport. Before she stepped up to the escalator (LCCT Departure), we had a few minutes of heartfelt chat, we hugged each other so tight and we burst into tears, and i told her "I will come for you", up she went to the departure gate. I walked back to my car, still crying. Once I stepped into my car, I burst into tears again. I stoned in the car for 30 minutes, texted her until the plane departed.

The beginning was fine. We had regular calls, Skype session, FaceTime session and alot of chatting, every night before we sleep we would call each other and tell each other how much we love each other. Then it gradually went downhill when she started getting busier and busier, and i made a decision to fly all the way to New Zealand to visit her.

I booked my flight, cost me RM3700++(!@#$%^) but its okay, its worth it. I just want to see her and i missed her alot. 4 months has passed, the date is 23rd of June 2012, I called her before i depart and i said "hey im coming now! are you excited?" and she said "yeah, i miss you alot, I love you" I took a cab to the airport and i spent 16 hours in total to New Zealand (including transit). Here I am, at Auckland International Airport, she wasnt there at the landing gate, I was very nervous, I quickly get a sim card and start calling her. She picked up and she said shes quite busy now and she asked me to take a cab to her place, she gave me the address. Its ok, I will be seeing her soon i think, nothings gonna stop me now.

So i took a cab, i told the taxi driver, im here to visit my gf, can you bring me to the nearest florist? I bought 12 roses, the driver dropped me at the address and i called her. She said shes not ready yet, still busy doing something. (but the background voice i can hear people singing karaoke) She need another 30 minutes, asked me to grab a quite bite at the nearest restaurant. It was at night already, around 9pm, I have my hands full of bags, my own huge backpack, then her luggage, the stuff she requested me to bring. It was winter, around 5-7 degree celsius at night. I didn't have a jacket so it was very cold, the restaurant was closing, I stood at the side of the road, with my left hand holding roses, right hand holding her luggage and my huge backpack behind me. I was so tired at that time.

Part 2

3 hours passed, she came back with a car full of people inside. I was so happy to see her at that time, I couldnt describe how happy I felt. I gave her the roses and......

I gave her the roses and she took the roses, without any sign of excitement, no smiling no nothing. I opened my hand wide and i wanted to hug her. She just walked passed me and said, "lets go up, i have something to tell you. "

So we went into the elevator, i held her hand, she shook me off. At that moment, I knew whats gonna happened to me already. I went into her apartment, dropped the stuff at the living hall, she poured a glass of water for me and we sat down. She sat infront of me, looked at me into my eyes, I smiled to her and she said, "I don't know who you are anymore, I have no more feelings for you, I used to love you alot but things have changed now. I'd move on. I cried everynight in my room thinking how much i missed you, but theres nothing to do. Lets break up, we still can be friends if you want to."

I burst into tears instantly and i said no, i tried to persuade her, i hugged her and she pushed me away. Then she said, I need to go out, make yourself home. Theres food in the fridge and off she went. There it is, first night at New Zealand, stranded alone. I waited her until 3am and shes hasnt come back yet, i went downstairs to look for her without knowing where she is (very dumb) It was winter, very very cold, and I sat on the bus stop at around 5am, no where to go, no one to talk to.....I went back to the apartment around 6.30am, sat down there and waited till she came back, it was around...8am, she came back, looked at me and asked if im ok. She went to shower and off she go again, she said shes going to meet her friends for breakfast and go for a movie in the afternoon. I nodded and off she go.

I was so helpless, so lonely, no one to talk to. So I missed call my dad. Dad called me back...When i heard my dad say "hello", i burst into tears instantly. Then dad ask me to come home, he will buy my air ticket and he said just come home and we will take care of you. As usual, mom is the paranoid one, keep asking me not to jump down, be calm and everything is gonna be fine.

After hung up, I look around her place, went into her room checked her drawer, and i found something. Something that is very devastated to found out. I saw a box of durex and KY JELLY, when i saw that, i started shaking, I shake so bad and quickly ran downstairs from the 14th floor all the way down, i bought a pack of cigarette and finished 5 sticks in a row. I cried when i was smoking, I cried so bad, people who walked passed me offer to help and checked if i was ok.

After that, I sat at the side of the street until that night......

Part 3

I went back to the apartment, packed my things up, and i left the apartment. I spent one night at the bus station, very huge bus station, something like KL Sentral. I didn't sleep, I sat down there and rethink of what happened, and what should i do. I wasn't very sad anymore. Just clueless of what happened to me. And then i thought to myself, im only 21(at that time), i travelled 5000 miles away to see my gf and got dumped, where in the world to find a young punk like me to do such stupid things. They were so many thoughts rushing into my mind but i can only explain so little, I spent the whole night thinking and wondering.

Until 7am++ in the morning, i took my bags out from the bus station, walked to subway and got myself a sandwich, i walked around the city to look for budget inn, or guesthouse. Most of them are fully booked / too expensive i cant afford. I left about 400NZD to survive for another 5 days.

Then i bumped into her at the street, walking together with a guy, that guy was holding her handbag for her. They were happily chatting and walking to uni. I texted her and told her i saw her. No replies from her. I'm surprised i dont feel sad anymore but more on dissapointing.

I took a big sigh and continue walking, I walked to a jetty and enjoy the sea breeze and nice sunlight. Very very sunny day, I sat on the bench, had a cigarette. Called my mom and assured her I'm fine.

An hour later, I walked to the car rental company, rented a Toyota Yaris, and drove away from the city, I drove 3 and a half hours away from the city, to another city call Rangitoto, along the way i saw many sheeps and cow, passed by the subrurb, outskirt, alot of farm hourses, fences all over the green gass. Arrived at Rangitoto, checked out thermal activity, had some awesome pizza called Hell's Pizza. I slept in the car that night at Rangitoto, park my car near some restaurant. And slept there till the 3am....

FINAL

And slept there till the 3am....

I woke up and started driving back to Auckland City, It was dark, really dark. No street lights, imagine I turn on the headlight and i still can't see shit infront. Anyway, 4 hours later, arrived at auckland, returned the rental car. Called my ex, she picked up and she invited me back to her apartment. Went back up to her apartment, we were supposed to have breakfast together. While waiting for her to shower, out of curiousity, I picked up her phone and start reading her message ( I know its bad, but couldn't help. I just want to know whats happening )

After I went through her inbox, I burst into tears again. Thinking why I am being treated like that. What I read was text messages with this guy, name Jeremy, a malaysian too studying in New Zealand. They were sending messages like horny couples, she even invited him to her place. Until now there are two messages I cannot forget.

From my ex to him: " I am confused, I am in a whole new environment"

From him to my ex: "Thanks for the little kisses you gave just now

I cant forget these two messages. It hit me so hard, I felt like I dont know her anymore, a girl i dated for 2 years, suddenly became someone I don't know anymore.

She came out from the shower, we went out for breakfast, and I calmly sat down and talked about the whole issue, as usual, what girls do best is just keep quiet and say I'm sorry. ( Sorry to all girls ) She kept quiet for the whole time and I gave up. The last question I asked was, "can you give me another chance? I dont expect an answer now, you can take as long as you want. But please, reconsider. We've been together for 2 years already. I dont want to lose you." She nodded and said she will get back to me by end of the year (2012) Off she went to Uni.

It was the last day for me at Auckland. I thought to myself, this is my last chance to win her back, my last shot. She got class that day and before she went out to uni, she gave me her apartment key. I said to her : "come back for dinner today, I'll make something good for you." She nodded and off she went to uni.

Without wasting a second, I quickly walked around Auckland City Centre and look for Roses Petals, after 1 hour plus walking under the b****y weather, drizzling non stop. I found a shop, selling roses petal. I bought 3 packets and then start searching for tulips and daisies ( she love it )
Managed to find a shop selling them fresh for 80NZD, bought a bouquet, and then i went to wine shop to get some wine. Bought a decent wine then I went to a dessert shop to get tiramisu ( She love it ) Then i went to supermarket and look for fish, making fish n chips that night for her.

After preparing everything, I walked back to the apartment with hands full of grocery bags, roses and etc. Back to the apartment. I started placing flower petals as a trail, a trail from the door, to her room and to her living hall, also layout alot of scented candles all over her apartment.

In her room, on her bed. I use roses petals to form a love shape, beside the love shape, its a bouquet of roses, and a pillowpet i bought for her and shipped it to her few months back.

I started making fish n chips, put the dessert in the fridge, selected a few romantic song from my Iphone, she texted me shes coming back. I quickly lit up all the candles, it was really beautiful, so beautiful i almost cried, i did it for the girl i love alot. She came back from uni, she was surprised, she cried and she hugged me tight, we had dinner together and she said to me : "im still not gonna change my decision, i'd decided already, you have to move on, and be strong. I know you can do it"

My heart shattered. She went to shower and head to bed after that. Im all alone again. At the living hall, looking at all the candles and roses, I cried so bad, Cried so hard. I started cleaning up her apartment, mop, vacuum, cleaned up all the roses petals. I dried it with hair dryer and heater, put all the petals into a glass cup I wrote a note, and left it glass at her study table. I slept at the sofa that night.

I woke up around 7am, preparing to leave. Showered, when i came out from the washroom, I hear sobbing. Shes crying, she said she dont want me to leave and ask me to stay, she missed me a lot....

I don't know what to say anymore, at that time. I just want to go home, I dont want to stay here, It's miserable. I packed my stuff, she made me breakfast. And she didn't send me to the airport. I took a taxi back to the airport, my heart was so heavy, the weather was chilly, it felt like a dream, a dream that is so unreal but yet so real.

I board onto the plane, tears started flowing again. I missed her. The dude beside me asked what happened. I told him the whole story, and he said, when life gives you lemon, make lemonade.

The plane departed. I'm going home, I'm leaving her, this will be the last time we see each other, yesterday gonna be the last conversation we had, its so unreal....It really felt like a dream. 8 days alone in New Zealand has ended.
