Hello everyone, long post ahead

A bengkel kenderaan (van pekerja) has been operating right in front of my house for several months now. No kidding, it is literally INFRONT of my house like there is only a small road in between. Due to this, there had been at least 20 vans going in and out of my taman everyday from 9 to 6pm. The smoke emitted from the van is more than the normal car that passes by and most of the vans have broken exhaust and engine so the smokes are really unbearable. Not to mention, the NOISE from the many activities done in the bengkel was also screeching loud and will last for hours everyday.

So complains has been made to the owner of the bengkel and they moved the fixing to the back alley which made no difference but at least their vehicle is not directly in front of my front door. However, another neighbor complained because the vehicles are now directly facing their house LOL. There had been several dispute due to this and the workers from the workshop even threatens my neighbour that he will bring geng geng apa to hit or what idk. But, that neighbour managed to get 52 residents in our area to sign a petition against the bengkel operation in this area. Just when we thought everything will be solved and they will relocate to another area, because several council members came to check on them but nah they moved the fixing activities back to the front of my house LMAO. There are at least 10 van parking in the community area and it seems that the person-in charge for this taman had been collecting parking tickets under the table. Apparently, they had a license to operate the bengkel there which is ridiculous as it is directly facing residential homes. I wonder how they got the approval for the license, did they issue without checking the area or coughfee talk license la.

Do petition actually work for cases like this? It will be great if anyone here can provide me some guidance. ARE THERE REALLY NOTHING WE CAN DO??????

TLDR : Bengkel Van operating in front of my house, a residential area, complains and petition of 52 people has been made to the council and council member came to check but no changes or improvement of the situation.

Hello this is my first time writing a post here as I am not sure where to ask guidance from.

A little backstory; Ever since I was young the residential area (taman) that I lived was peaceful and clean. One of the neighbors decide to open up a transportation company at a shoplot in our residential area. On a side note, the shoplot is only suitable for small offices and kopitiam.

Initially the company started out as a small office which was still okay but after a while the company actually knock down the side wall (corner unit) and set up a vehicle(van/bas pekerja) repairing work shop. The workshop is directly faced towards my house. After that, my whole taman was filled with vans parked on the side of the road and even in-front of residential houses. During that time, my house was in renovation so I did not live there for a while but now I had moved back home these problems has been stressing me out.
Every morning at around 8-9am there would be sounds of van (bas pekerja) driving very loudly on the road and also the sounds from the machinery and repair works of the workshop. The sound from the workshop is shrieking loud from the morning so I was sleep deprived for many days. The workshop operates from 9am to 7pm on weekday and even Saturday. They also constantly pump up the engine and the exhaust pipe will be aimed towards the direction of my house so the smokes from the exhaust are blown into my house. I cannot even walk out to my car porch as the air pollution was terrible and it is hard to breath. Most of the time, the vans parked in the workshop still has the engine running even when there is nobody in it. They even build an underground oil tank beside the shop to store oil (in front my house. They would also turn up music very loudly when they are working.

I complained to the owner and requested that at least the exhaust pipe should not be pointed towards the residential homes and noise pollution should be kept in minimal at least in the morning. However, these complaints fell into deaf ears as there was no changes at all. So far, I have never filled complaints to the authorities as my neighbors told me that filling complaints is not anonymous so the person would know who made the complains.
My neighbors and even my family feared that it will cause commotions and fights so they refrain from complaining to the authorities. This has left me hopeless and stressed because I certainly do not want to endure this noise and air pollution in the long run and these problems will never stop happening unless they relocate to another suitable area which would be impossible because they are really stubborn and inconsiderate.

If anyone here can advise me and provide a possible solution would be much appreciated. THanks
