Japan's TV station assumed before the race that a local athlete would win, and two Japanese competitors completely ignored Chen Yuanjiang's friendly greeting. Chinese athlete Chen Yuanjiang, fueled by emotion, stormed to victory in the men's 110m hurdles final at the Asian Games with a powerful time of 13.15 seconds!

I've been wondering about this...is there nothing JP or anyone can do against Mastercard and Visa nowadays? It seems these companies now can dictate on whatever they want you to do or not.

QUOTE

Even if you don't understand the language, the parts that were fun and your impressions!
"I think 'Delicious things are necessary, war is not' is really great. So you should go see it."

I don't understand Chinese or English at all, but my impressions from watching "Welcome to the Dragon Restaurant / Welcome to the Dragon Hotel"

QUOTE

Welcome to Dragon Restaurant (Welcome to the Dragon Hotel), I watched it! It’s a hardcore anti-war film that I honestly never could’ve imagined from the poster—totally blown away. No, this is incredible. The protagonist can’t get home on a scale rivaling the Odyssey, and the war scenes are as intense as in Saving Private Ryan. More detailed thoughts later,,

QUOTE

I went to see this with a light heart, but from around the 60-minute mark, it became so, so painful to keep watching. It really sank in just how happy you are to be able to eat a warm meal.

QUOTE

Welcome to Ryū Hotel (欢迎来龙餐馆), I watched it lightly and it turned out to be a heavy, heavy movie about the Iraq War. It only had Chinese subtitles and English subtitles, and at first I thought I wouldn't be able to keep up with the speed of reading the subtitles (and I couldn't even read them in the first place), and I might not understand the content, but it was okay. It's an anti-war film that stands alongside Nelson-san, one I want people to watch now.

QUOTE

Chinese food and war... They seem completely unrelated at first glance... The brutality of war and the children caught up in its chaos...

...and the vicious cycle that follows...

This is the first movie that ever made me cry like this.

It's a film I absolutely want everyone to see 🙏

QUOTE

The hype was so intense that I forced myself to go see it. I couldn’t catch all the details with the English and Chinese subtitles, but it was plenty harsh and had me bawling my eyes out. I feel so relieved knowing that a work like this has been made and is a massive hit in China. Hope amid despair. I think it’s the greatest masterpiece so far. The movie the world needs most.

QUOTE

I'd really recommend that fans of the *The Legend of Luo Xiao Hei* series check out *Welcome to the Ramen Donburi Shop*. As far as I can tell, I'm the only one who's pointed this out, but both works feature a mentor-student bond that takes the place of a parent-child relationship, preventing the child from becoming a terrorist and fostering a more mature attitude toward war.

QUOTE

I saw it yesterday.
The heaviness in my heart after it ended... I want it to come with proper Japanese subtitles. I want as many people as possible to see it.
I have a lot to say, but for now, just one thing.
Eating is living.
No matter the time, just eat!
Eat, and live.

So many positive comments about this movie, and you know what the best part is? It doesn't have JP subtitles or a JP dub, yet it managed to resonate with those JP viewers. Also, I don't know why JP chose to show this movie without JP subtitles in Japan.

A good Samaritan was repeatedly shot while trying to save his friend from a fatal armed robbery during a Seattle street takeover — just for store workers and passersby to film them as he begged for help, according to his family.

Matthew Lanske, 21, stumbled across the illegal street takeover in Belltown in the early hours of Sept. 6 when a man and woman pulled a gun to rob one of his friends, Isaac Elijah Rios, 20, according to Fox 13.

Lanske jumped in to help when shots were fired, fatally striking Rios — one of three people killed in the neighborhood in a 24-hour period, the outlet said.

Lanske was shot twice in the stomach and once in the pelvis, which shattered and struck a major artery. Despite the injuries, he pursued the gunman until he ran into a nearby convenience store for help.

But instead of offering any assistance, they shut the doors and filmed him on their phones as he bled, Lanske’s mother, Shanda Barney, told Fox 13

“He looked at me with tears in his eyes and said, ‘Mom, they wouldn’t let me in. They locked the doors. I begged them to let me, and there was so much blood coming out of my stomach, I thought I was going to die.'”

“What breaks my heart almost as much as the shooting itself is knowing that while my son was fighting for his life, people were standing around filming him, taking pictures instead of helping him,” she added.

Rios’ aunt recounted a similar tale of callous bystanders who refused to help the wounded men in a GoFundMe raising money for funeral expenses for the former high school football player.

“In those terrifying moments, Isaac and his friend were shot and left to die, all while being filmed,” Beneta Lal wrote on the webpage. “Isaac was found on the sidewalk, bleeding and fighting for his life … despite every effort to save him, he did not survive.”

Lanske was rushed to the hospital and awoke up after multiple surgeries to learn that Rios had died.

“He has, I feel like, survivor’s guilt, you know,” Lanske’s sister Brooklynne Lanske told KOMO news. “He wanted to save his friend so bad, and he woke up to so many changes.”

Both families are demanding justice and asking witnesses to contact police. Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound offers a $1,000 reward for any information leading to an arrest.

Why Japanese so busybody with China?

kding2 — Tue, 15 Sep 2026 20:31:54 +0800

It seems nowadays that whenever there is a Chinese video doing random stuff in China, the Japanese will always be the ones lectured about it, under the assumption that these events happened in Japan without checking where the event take place.

Also, it is hilarious to see both countries making fun of each other every time a disaster strikes.
