Hi,

i booked an aircond service, and they seem to have cleaned the filter from dust & stuff, and the foul smell from the unit is gone, so far so good,
but there's still mold inside and i thought this was covered,

Is it normal not to clean the mold in the unit when servicing an aircond ?

what is the best interest rate you could achieve at a Malaysian bank ? Is it the same as the best car/house loan, ~2.8% right now ? higher ? lower ?

i wondered if any bank offered a low interest loan for buying motorcycles such as Harleys ?
Maybank's rate is non negotiable almost 10% interests (variable) over 7 years, which is kinda expensive.

i kinda read things right and left, but i'm still confused, couldn't see a main topic summarizing all the good ideas around here,

what i have until now as low risk good investment :

ASB 1, 2, and 3, seems to give interests ~3% above inflation when healthy, am i right ? Can withdraw any time ? Is the money deposited guaranteed in case of crisis ? There's a CAP / ceiling of how much you can deposit?
Tabung Haji seems kinda OK too given some people deposit 100 000 000 there, 3%+ above inflation during good days ? Can withdraw any time ?
Isn't EPF quite alright too, but cannot touch money until old ? 3%+ above inflation too ? Should i do self-contribution for a safe future ? Can withdraw self-contribution or not ?

If ASB, Tabung Haji, and EPF are kinda "guaranteed", doesn't it mean that in case of an economical crisis, the government will borrow on the markets to pay back everybody, and the next generations will have to pay the debt ?

Any other idea for safe simple & OK investments ?

i've seen there's at least 4 fixed yearly fees to maintain and sdn bhd,

(1) audit fees, (2) tax fees, (3) secretarial fees, and (4) accounting fees.

Which one can you do yourself ? Which one can be cheaped out ?

As a freelance designer, yearly audit/tax/secreterial/accounting could be done in 3 minutes by my 7 y.o. daughter, it'd hurt to pay 5-10k for 180 seconds of pen scratching paper.

i unfortunately need an SDN BHD or something similar if i want to work as a freelance from Malaysia,
and i wondered, would i get taxed twice, 17% corporate tax + ~20% income tax ?
What kind of deductions can i aim for ? Any way around it to cut the corporate tax through a Labuan registered company ?

edit : seems like salaries are deducted from profit, hence if 100% salaries, no corporate tax ? I wonder what can you legally use your company money on ?

i might import a car part from Japan, it's a wiring harness and there seem to be 0 to 2.7% tariffs on it (Malaysian custom website is incomplete)

I wondered if there was a way to avoid paying two Sales Tax, both in Japan and in Malaysia ?
Can i recover the Japan sales tax somehow ?

It's really hard to shop online for that, people give 5 stars to about any mattress, i took a Dr. Alstone and the springs are protruding in your back it's horrible,
and the mid range seems to be polluted with drop shipping scammers,

should i just take on with a thick foam upper layer ? At least i'm guaranteed not to feel the springs ?

Replacing wiring harness at dealership question

Hi,

i'm about to get my wiring harness replaced at the dealership, quoted price is 5200 RM for the part & 200 rm workmanship.
I'm kinda relieved as i had mentally prepared up to 10k for it.

Now, i checked the part price online, and the retail price is 4200 RM in Singapore, and even 3200 RM in Japan. I guess dealerships get an even better price ?

But, the dealership still needs to make money, am i right ? Won't they loosen some screws around the car to teach me a lesson if i try to double cross them like that ?
What would you do ?

Hi,

i've lent my credit card to a family member, i didn't have access to the account and end up they maxed out his 5k rm debt with already one overdue on interests lost his job so won't be able to pay for years

i've got the credit card back and wiped the debt clean,
is my credit score permanently damaged ?
Is it possible to "farm" it back ? Like, i want to buy a motorcykal, instead of paying cash, i take a loan, pay the loan dutifully, will it raise my score ? Or i get debt with credit card every month, and pay back the debt without fail every month ?

or should i just close the account ?

i'm insured by Berjaya Sompo with a sort of comprehensive coverage on my car

only problem is that natural accidents involving animals are not specified in the policy wording, the word animal appears 0 time,

hence it's neither specifically included, nor excluded,

also, i'm not even sure it's a rat, it could be somebody that chopped my wire off, which is covered by the policy

should i just lodge a report, and make a claim, and wait for an inquiry ? i wonder what are my chances.

why private sdn doing simple custom clearance

can someone please enlighten me about why we have a private company doing automatic custom clearance handling, instead of the government ?

Out of 55 rm customs, i'm paying 50 rm to the kleptocrats for doing a few APIs calls.

There must be good reason if many countries follow this system, yet the process seems so straightforward that's it's hard to see why you need to go through an expensive middle man ?

Question : could someone in the KL custom office clear it for me ? What would it take for them to do it ?
