my situation, as u guys can see from the photo, both devices have a 5v input for external power. i was wondering, for DAC, it came with an usb cable with the DC head. i need to plug it to an usb adapter to make it work. but the usb adapter they supply is exactly looks like an iphone charger with 1amp.

for the case of HDMI switch, it didnt come with any usb cable or adapter cause in the descriptions says it didnt required external power unless the device that connected to it not ''standard''. the problem i faced with this is, when i connected my ps4 and ps3 to the switch, only ps3 able to send the signal to the monitor independently, meaning while ps4 is off, ps3 can show display on the monitor, without any power supplied externally to the hdmi switch. but when i selected my ps4, the switch blinks like it didnt get enough power, it only can display when my ps3 is turn on as well. now, that not really what i want with the switch, i dont want to on my ps3 for the sake of powering the switch for ps4. so luckily i has a usb cable that has a DC head that match the size of the 5v input of the hdmi switch.(cant use the usb cable from the DAC cause it is bit smaller ) so i plug the usb cable to my old charger that provide only 850mah, then the ps4 can display on the monitor without need ps3 to be turn on.

so here is my question, is the amp from the adapter/charger matters to power up these devices? im concern if im not supplying a proper current to these devices, when i checked the spec for these devices, they only stated 5v. it is ok for me to use for example an 550mah usb adapter to power either of these 2? or maybe a higher amp like 2.1 or 3.1a (saw this adapter with 2 usb output)? i really noob regarding eletrical stuff. i wana know how this thing works, how much power it really need? will it be damage if not enough power or too much power from the adapter.

also im planning to buy an usb hub, i saw few at onlines stores, the hub also has 5v input which i believe for external power, but as usual they only provide usb to dc cable without adapter. let say i wana to plug 3 2.5hdd, how much is the amp for the adapter i need to use?

Mobile Hotspot to wireless N repeater

Guys, i need an advice, is it possible to connect my mobile hotspot from my xperia Z to a wireless N repeater than act as an AP to stream content from pc/laptop? Currently my set up is xperia Z(mobile hotspot) connected to ps4/ps3/pc/laptop/psvita. I used an universal streaming app on my pc/laptop to stream movie to my ps4/ps3/psvita, it works however some movies kinda lag or buffer extremely. So if i buy a wireless N repeater will i able to get a smooth streaming experience? Also im also want to play remote play features of ps4 when i buy an xperia z5, will the wireless N repeater help to improved the transfer speed between ps4 and xperia z5? I just planning to remote play in the house only.

Please advice? Or i need to buy a wireless N router instead? Extra info, im staying in a rent house, without any streamyx or unifi available in the area. My only internet option is via mobile hotspot. My budget around less than rm100.

Hi guys, my 2009 pc rig just died, so i guess it is time for to upgrade, n with many claims that price of pc hardware will increase significantly after gst, so i think i should buy asap.
My budget will be bout rm1500.00

I already bought a new psu seasonics s12ii 620w, and i will use my current gpu 760gtx.

So my budget for rm1500.00 are for proc,ram and mobo. If i have balance i might want to add either a wd blue 1tb or a ssd, but storage are not priority here, the proc,ram n mobo are.

Please recommed me the best bang for bulk with this budget. My monitor is fullhd or myb 1920x1200 i dun rember, currently storage are 1tb green caviar(bought last year) n 640gb blue caviar (bought myb 2008-09). I prefer blue theme for my mobo n ram(i like the hyper x fury blue).

hi guys,

im having a weird problem with my pc. everytime i boot, it will freeze/stuck with blackscreen after the blue windows logo(before the log in). restart many timers also wont help. with luck im somehow found a temporary fix by entering bios then exit without any changes, everytime i power on my pc and somehow it will boot normally without freezing with black screen. i tried many solution found in the internet like updates gc driver, updates windows with the latest available updates none solve the problem. it is a hassle to enter bios everytime i power on my pc. anyone encounter such problem before? any solution? this problem happen since i put my pc on sleep mode not sure once or twice, then this problem happen. my last resort will be formating back the windows but i wish i could avoid it. please help

im also having a problem with klite codec media player classic. some format it will stutter for a moment during movie, also a distort kind of sound whenever i minimized the video. any idea what is the issue with this? vlc or stock media player works flawlessly.

it's being a while since last i post in hardware section. not sure when the last time i post here. i retired from gaming a year ago when i got married, but i think games still matter for me and i start to game again.

i was wondering should i upgrade my rig which is already 4-5 years old?

here are my specs,

OS- Windows 8.1 pro 64bit
CPU- intel core2quad q6600 2.4ghz Oced @ 3.0ghz,
GPU- gtx760 2gb gddr5 zotac reference design
Ram- 2x2GB DDR2 1066 OCZ Reaper
Mobo- Gigabit (dont remember model)
Monitor-Samsung SyncMaster P2770H LCD 1080p reso.
PSU- Vantec ION2+ 550W 80+bronze
HDD-WD Green Caviar 1TB SATA II + WD Blue Caviar 640GB SATA II

my pc is for gaming purposes, and i love gaming at highest possible setting. the latest upgrade i did with my system was replaced my gtx460 with gtx760. i love action games like assassin creed series, batman arkham series, gta series, racing games like nfs series, all first person shooter games. currently with my setup, i am able to game mostly at highest setting except few games like crysis 3 need to play around with the setting, my fps are 30-60++ for 2013-2014 games, over 60++ for older games. i didnt try to install watchdog, battlefield 4 and blackops 2 yet as i heard these games required more than 8gb of ram which im lacking.

So i was wondering, other than gpu which recently i upgrade, if i wan to change my cpu, it also mean i have to spend on new ddr3 rams, a new mobo too. so, the question is, do you guys think i should upgrade my system now or better wait for when ddr4 is available? i heard it will come out next year. i say ddr4 because if i upgrade now, meaning my new mobo wont support ddr4 in the future. but what is best do you guys think? also, if any of u guys think i should i upgrade, can u give me a recommendation on which CPU(i always prefer intel, but amd also just fine),mobo, a ram should i choose, and how much, say within <1.5k budget. will i get a very significant result with newer system recommended?

Need help 3G issue

hi, i wana ask do you guys have 3G issue on ur phone? im using celcom with 5gb data plan. my issue is that sometime at certain area, my 3G speed very slow on curve 9320. i tested with speed test only get barely 200-300kbps. this usually happened when im in kl. i experience this twice already in ampang n bangi. what s weird is my xperia z n ip5 also celcom, both can go up to 7mbps no problem. also when i took out the simcard from my bb n put it into my portal wifi E355 huawei modem, the speed able to reach bout the same as both my other phones around almost 7mbps too. so im asking is there a setting problem, do i need to set something up first?

btw im working in kemaman terengganu, there i can get bout 3.6mbps no problem with bb, but why both my xperia z n iphone can go up to avrage 5-7mbps? it is like there was a limitation of speed connection in bb. any idea guys? all 3 phones r using similar package n plan. need help n advice here if it is a setting issue.

hi guys, im not sure where to post this question, if i post in a wrong section, mod plez move it to an appropriate section.

my question is, is there any tablet with a sharing function? i mean sharing from pc. somethin like ps3 media server or windows homegroup. i would to like to know if this feature available already with any tablets currently available on the market today. since tablets memory space is not much (iinm largest is 64gb lyk ipad2) i think this sharing feature woulb be nice as i dun hav to transfer many things to the table from pc.

plez recommend me if there are such tablets wit the feature above. ipad2? galaxy tab or even the incoming windows 8 tablet.

Asus Laptop X42de windows 7 hangs/freeze/crashed

hi guys, need help here, im using asus x42de spec- cpu amd phenom 2 3 cores, 4 gb ddr3 ram,on windows 7 ultimate..my laptop is acting strange l8ly, after a few hours the laptop will hangs/freeze itself.. the laptop just wont respond to any key such as ctrl alt del, it happen sometime while im watching muvies, sometime it happen itself when i left my laptop idle n came back it is already in freeze state..

any ideas wat coz this problem? i doubt it is hardware related issues as i never experience any bsod yet, however it could be.. how do i check this problem coz by software or hardware? my laptop temperature is between 55-59'c on idle or when i do normal task such as browsing, but sometimes it can be in between 62-65'c while browsing.. my gpu is ati hd 5470, temp between 55'c- 65'c..

any one can help me.. getting really annoyed when the laptop suddenly freeze without warning, n i hv to reboot everytime it happen. plez help.

hi guys, im not sure if im posting this in the right thread.. but i wana ask regarding credit card. i hv a hotel voucher that entitle me a free 2 days 1 night. it was Pacific Regency Hotel. however the condition for using the voucher is only by reservation 2 weeks earlier from the date stayed and only can be booked by credit card.

im fine with all that condition till i asked them what are the detail for the room reservation. and they said:

a copy of the voucher, my name, contact no, credit card no, credit card expiry date and also the 3 digit no at the back of the card. all this and then fax to them.

ok, im fine with all that except giving them the 3 digit no.. is this normal guys? they said it was the hotel procedure, but that was a security no right? is it safe for me? anyone here have any experience regarding this matter? plez advice.

also one more question, at the back of the credit card, there 4 digit no, and the 3 digit no.. as i concern, the important one is the last 3 digit right? so what was the 4 digit no for? sorry, still new to credit card.

ok, here wat i wana know, last week my friend just bought this tv, but due to certain circumstances, he leave it temporarily to me and let me test it. so what i do is i hooked it up as a monitor for my pc.. so here where i got confused with the resolution.. this lcd tv isnt a full hd, however under pc mode, i able to set the reso to 1920x1080i... isnt that a full hd reso? although it is not 1080p.. n so i playin games like crysis,cod and all in this resolution..the picture for is kinda superb although it is so big for me where i only sit bout a meter infront the monitor.. watching blueray rip is marvelous too..

ok so here again my actual questions
1. why is this tv has full hd reso in pc mode? but 1080i
2. wats the difference between this reso and an actual 1080p full hd lcd monitor(not lcd tv full hd)
3. im thinking of buying 27'' lcd monitor frm samsung which has a full hd reso pricing of rm1.1k or shud i get this lvd tv from sony bout rm1.5k..

my usage wit pc is more towards games and watching movies..

guys,i using win 7 ultimate 32bit os, i installed klite 5.6.1 mega codec pack.. the problem is it wont show thumbnail of .mkv,.3gp ,.flv .. i also notice a lag when playing .wmv format files too..

any of u guys having these kind of problems too? i also tried shark007 but still no thumbnail showing either for those format mention above.. btw b4 this, on vista, using klite codec never has any problem showing those thumbnail..

any solution?
