Any opinions on APU?

Hi I just finished my STPM last year and my overall CGPA is 3.75. Honestly speaking, I dont think I have a good chance in entering University of Malaya(UM) studying Bachelor in Software Engineering as I heard the seats open for STPM are very limited.
So I would like to apply for a private university as a backup, did little research, found out Asia Pacific University(APU) is quite focus on IT industry although I wouldnt say it is the most well-recognised university.

I asked some IT engineers that I know regarding the APU and I have collected different sides of opinions.

I would like to throw publicly in the forum regarding APU, how good is it? any comments/experiences from friends, siblings, etc? is it recommendable?

Furthering Studies in US

Currently studying Semester 3 Physics Stream in Form Six. Here are my Sem1 & Sem2 Results:
Sem1: CGPA = 3.58
Sem2: CGPA = 3.67
MUET: Band 4

After meeting with my Form 6 principal, my school only offers scholarships to Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Singapore only. As I really wish to study at US, it seems there are not much scholarships to study at the US. Also due to financial constraint, I really need a scholarship if I really wish to get what I want.

My preferred course is definitely CompSci, or any IT related field and had A's for Math and Physics in both semester. There are a few questions floating around my mind.

1. Do you guys only apply scholarships on the university website?
2. When should I start apply?
3. Should I study in Hong Kong or other countries instead?

Where to buy screen protector in Penang?

Hi I really wonder where is the best place to get your phone a Screen Protector in Penang.
Do you guys have any recommendation? There are alot types of screen protector like Tempered Glass, Hydrogel, Silicon Screen Protector etc...

Should I get S8?

I have to renew my MaxisOne Plan around July, and I can renew two months earlier...
I saw their brochure costing 49/mnth for S8(MaxisOne 128 Plan), after doing some simple maths
49*24 = RM1176
Let's not talk about the plan, it seems really worth it for a high-end device at this cost, what do you guys think?
Have anyone of you using S8? Please give me some recommendations thanks!

STPM or Polytechnic? Which is better?

I am currently studying Form 6 since last week, and today I received an offer from Polytechnic Ungku Omar in Ipoh. I applied for ICT course there, and I did some research before knowing the big difference between STPM and Polytechnic.
- STPM(1.5 year)
Polytechnic(5 Semester + 1 short semester = 3 years approximately)

- STPM(Get to study what I hate)
Polytechnic(Get to study what I want)

- STPM(Recognized worldwide)
Polytechnic(Recognized locally in Malaysia)

- STPM(100% Chinese in my current school)
Polytechnic(95% Malay + 5% Chinese(Me))
No racism here, just to share data I received from a Malay friend.

These few are main pros and cons I find out, if I study STPM, I wish to study Computer Science in universities like HK, SG(via scholarship).
However, if I study Polytechnic, I wish to study Computer Science in University of Malaya(no other local unis).

Hope you guys can share out some information here, just to give out some opinions as I have to send back the Letter of Acceptance to polytechnic by 31st May 2018.

Other than applying for scholarships, I would like to ask are there any college/uni that offer tuition fee waiver for SPM 7A.

Switching to private Uni

I really wonder after studying 3 yrs of diploma in local uni, am i able to transfer to private uni if i dont get my desired course?
I plan to study in UTAR if i have literally no choice and no single chance of studying the course i wanted.
I like to study Compsci in the future... so can u guys give me some advice please?

Best Public Universities?

Sorry for my silly question, but i really wonder what are the PUBLIC universities that equipped with great facilities and maintained really well(Hostel, toilet, etc...)
I am deciding to study in public universities(Computer Science) but want to get some opinions from you guys:)
I understand that all public unis are almost the same quality what you pay is what you get.

Computer Science or Software Engineer?

Hey guys really need your help here,
Recently I checked online for all public universities(UM, USM...) in terms of courses offered.
I would love to take Computer Science as a degree since its job opportunities is vast, however, none of them offer computer science, they come with:
1.Computer Science(Software Engineer)
2.Computer Science(AI)
3.Computer Science(Networking)

When i check private universities like UTAR they do offer Compsci, software engineer without the () sign. I am really confused now,which should i go public uni or private uni for compsci? My brother advised me to take compsci(Software Engineer) because companies want to hire people that are strong in particular field(AI, Network, SE...) but i dont agree with him much...help me out guys. THANKSSS!

Matrix or Diploma(Public Uni)

Hi, lets say i got offered from Matrix and Diploma(UPU).
I already know what to study(Software Enginnering).
Which one is better in terms of faster route, cheaper tuition fees.
I dont mind of wearing formal attire or having tougher life, just give me your advices please thanks!!!

Hi guys, I have just finished my SPM and knowing that Unit Pengambilan Universiti(UPU) is about to open for registration.
I graduated from Chung Ling High School and got a forecast results of 4As only.
I have applied for Matrix last year, and planning to apply to UPU just as a backup if I fail to get enrolled by Matrix(I'm a chinese btw )
My dream is to become a software engineer, from what I see, here are the institutes allowed for SPM setaraf(Chinese):

1. Asasi Pengajian Islam UM
2. Asasi dan Diploma UPM dan UPNM
3. Tahmidi USIM
4. Asasi UKM, UUM dan
5. Diploma UPSI, UTHM, UMT, UTeM, UMP, UniMAP, UniSZA dan Politeknik Premier

Politeknik is a no go for me because 3 years of education(*dont hit me*)
UM is also not for me because of Pengajian Islam

My question is:
If i fail to get enrolled by Matrix(I ve lost in faith), what could possibly be a great choice among the universities they offered if I want to study as a software engineer?

TARC or UTAR if I want to study Software Engineer?

Hi, I already have my own interest (Software Engineering) but I think Form 6 is not an option for me .
But the problem is I have 2 routes to choose:
1. TARC(Diploma)->UTAR(Degree)
2. UTAR(Foundation)->UTAR(Degree)

My dream is to work for companies like Google etc.
a) If i got an offer from Matrix...UTAR, TARC or Matrix?
b) Can I work overseas if I study in local universities?
c) Will they recognize and accept my degree?

My condition is studying in universities that will not cause alot burden to my family in terms of tuition fees.
Other than UTAR or TARC...Do suggest other universities which are well known at IT(software engineering).
Would really really appreciate all your advice...Thanks!
