Adorable police puppies in pouches steal the show at Chilean military parade

A troop of golden retriever puppies stole the show when they took part in Chile's annual military parade.

The fluffy young dogs snuggled, tongues lolling, in neon green pouches worn across the chests of a row of marching police trainers.

The puppy section was followed by a line of uniformed men walking adult golden retrievers and labradors, which all wore little boots.

The dogs belong to the Canine Unit of the Carabineros de Chile, the country's national police force.

More than 9,500 troops marched for the Great Military Parade in Santiago's O'Higgins Park on Thursday as part of Chile's 208th Independence Day anniversary.

The spectacle, which attracts millions of viewers as it is beamed around the nation, has been a tradition for more than 50 years.

It isn't the first time the Canine Unit has featured in the celebration. Their debut marchpast was in 2008.

In 2017, footage from TV station Mega showed a decorated army official cracking a smile as a row of puppies passed by.

2,800 vaccinations at WTCKL on May15,16 reschedule

PUTRAJAYA: Some 2,800 opt-in AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccination appointments scheduled for May 15 and 16 at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL) will be given new dates due to Covid-19 congestion concerns.

Khairy Jamaluddin (pic), who is the coordinating minister for the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme, said the 2,800 appointments will be rescheduled to new dates between May 17 and May 23.

“At present, the WTCKL PPV will be operating at full capacity on May 15 and 16. There are 19,000 appointments set for the two dates, so we need to reduce the numbers to about 16,000 and reschedule some of them to new dates.

“This is due to the increasing number of Covid-19 cases, which is worrying.

“We want to avoid overcrowding at the PPV and ensure that physical distancing can be adhered to in a comfortable manner, ” Khairy said on Monday (May 10) at his weekly press conference with Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba here.

Khairy said those whose appointments are to be rescheduled to May 17-23 will receive a notification on the MySejahtera app from Tuesday (May 11).

For those who do not receive any notifications, their appointments remain the same, he added.

Other dates at other vaccine centres are not affected.

Not showing up on the first

Long story short I accepted a job offer and I were to report to work on next Monday.
Ytd my current employer offered me a new position last minute and asked me to stay (they only know ytd that the current incumbent wants to leave).
I am thinking to accept since I am already familiar with my current company and if they can offer what I want why not ?
But will I get black listed by not showing up on Monday ? Will they tell other companies on this incident ? Hard for me to jump in the future ? How about background check ? I am thinking to email them as soon as possible today although it’s actually very late for them already. I don’t want to do this but things just happened like that ytd..
Seriously looking for some advice. I do not have this kind of experience before because this is my first job and I have never encounter this kind of thing before. Thank you
