Best way to park and transfer foreign currency

Hi all, I am going to UK for my studies in less than one month, trying to figure out the best way to convert MYR to GBP.

I expect to open a UK Bank account only in October. I am now trying to change my MYR to GBP and park somewhere first, before I transfer to my UK bank account in October. From my limited knowledge, these are the 3 options I can think of:

1. Bank draft. Bring bank draft to UK and deposit into my UK bank account.

2. Foreign Currency Account. Open FCA, convert my MYR to GBP, and wire to my UK bank account in the future.

3. Moneymatch and Transferwise. I saw one forumer suggested this. Use moneymatch to transfer MYR to GBP into Wise. No need to open a UK bank account, just use Wise. Or open UK bank account and transfer the money in from Wise.

I will need to use the money to pay my school fees via bank transfer. The rest will be used for my daily expenses. Which way is the cheapest? I presume the third way since the rate should be better? Also better rate when transfer back to MYR in the future. Or please suggest if theres other better way. Since its pretty last minute I dont think I can play around w/ forex or DCI, not knowledgable enough to do it as well.

dermatologist around kl

Hi all,
Anyone knows any skin specialist around klang valley that is good with skin conditions like allergies or hives? (non-aesthetic)

Been itching for few years on and off, recently it became sort of permanent, only eases when I take meds. I cant live on meds forever and I become tired easily after taking meds. My daily life and sleep is affected.

I went to Ranjit ss15 once, the fella diagnosed me as having both hives and eczema. Consultation was quite short, didnt really bother to explain and just ask me to take the meds (understandable if you look at his queue). Problem was solved once I start taking his meds but few months later same problem again. Went to pharmacy to get the same meds only realised he gave me steroids as well. I just take the non steroid meds after that.

The med works at first, just take for a short period then it will be okay for a while before it comes back again. But lately if I dont take it for two days my body will start itching again.

I am looking for a dermatologist who is good at dealing with eczema etc without simply feeding you steroids again and again, which I realise is what most specialists do. Or should I just take an allergy test instead? Anyone with experience please share thank you

Roof leaking

My terrace house have suffered from water leaking for a while now, mostly during heavy rain

It has even contaminated the tangki before (cover was missing for some reason), and the water guy described to us the leaking problem

The tiles were merely laid on the wooden truss, and strong winds will cause the tiles misaligned hence the leaking

Im exploring options to fix this issues
after reading a few threads on this, most people suggest that a foil insulator would fix this, but some say it is not waterproofing as it is for heat insulating
saw a couple forumers suggested other waterproofing material as well?

Can anyone suggest me a more cost effective to fix this issue? Thanks

Knn Maxis and their service

June 7, Thursday night, my home fibre went offline all of a sudden

June 8, Called customer service, was requested to restart modem, cant fix. Suspect cable problem, promised to update in 48 hours

June 10, 48 hours has passed, no update. Have to called them myself, offered an appointment at Wednesday, June 13. Accepted the appointment.

June 13, TM technician first came to check around, as Maxis is using TM line. The 2 TM technician confirmed it was cable issue, but refused to fix as it is "too dangerous" (2nd floor of terraced which my 60y.o. father can climb up). Few hours later, Maxis technician came, also refused to fix it, pushing the responsibility to TM. Maxis technician then promised to update as soon as possible

June 14, receive no update hence has to call them again. Same excuse, pushing it to TM, have to wait TM to reply

June 19, Today, almost 2 weeks without internet. Receive message saying problem has been fixed. Damn Maxis can magically fix my cable problem without coming to my house. Restart modem, still no internet. Call them again, "idk here written problem fixed"

2 bloody weeks but problem is still not fixed. Taichi the problem with TM, didnt fix but claim as fixed. Me and my family have to keep on reloading mobile data again and again, bill still have to pay maxis bill. This thread is not to ask Maxis to fix the issue, as these useless bunch cant do shit, but to serve as a caution to anyone thinking of porting to Maxis.
