support aging parents - how much finance/expenses

i have an aging parent (father in his 60s) that is sick but still working as a newspaper delivery man. I was thinking to ask him quit his job and stay at home (retired). I am sad to see him sick and weak but my salary now can only support myself. feed another mouth? i have no idea in long run how much i need to support financially. if i can support another person, i already want to get married and have children. so my question is how much expenses needed to support a person (my father) based on your own experience? or knowledge? we have cash our house that we are currently staying, he has no other ongoing debts (motor cash already) only need for daily expenses. house utility, repair maintenance i think i can pay (rm200+ a month). I plan to get a monthly meal catering deliver to our doorstep for his daily meal (lunch & dinner), i look up online have package around rm250 monthly (23days). and give him allowance/pocket money rm100+ since i already take care most expenses. he have diabetes and heart problem but we take him to government hospital (to save $$). My family is not financially well off, just can self support as long as we work. my mum (healthy can self support work light job) and dad don't have epf/saving/$$. so is this a good idea or i may not be ready for this in the long run?

i'm afraid i will face financial difficulties in the long run if i offer to take up this responsibility. please help any better sugestion for my current dilemma
