Does anyone here or friends have Thai tattoo? You know those tattoo like Thai wordings etc... My friend have been promoting a Thai master. The master can help to improve life, career and other things. And also cleanse us from bad things or "small people" (xiao ren). Much like when we seek for our own Chinese master help at temple. I wonder is it really helpful? Those who have seek a Thai master before or have Thai tattoo on their body, does their life really have a difference now?

I just got a call from this number 0183842208 saying thanks for registering an account from their website for crypto/forex trading. I asked what website is it, she said www.cfdpremium.com. Then I said I don't think I have registered anything from this website. Then the lady (kinda rude) said "then why we have your information here stating that you have registered with us?" I said well how the hell I know, you should know better.

She mentioned my name, email address and phone number, which is all correct. Wtf. Her name is Chris (female) with supposedly US English accent but she said she's calling from UK. Then I said why it's a Malaysian phone number calling to my phone then? She said because they are using teleconference call kinda thing. Bullshit.

I said the only place I have registered an account previously was www.iqoption.com. Then she can thick face ask me "then how was your trading?" I was like how I did trading in other platform have nothing to do with you. I'm more curious about how my email suddenly got registered with them. She said she called to confirm whether do I want to activate my account with them and said I have wasted 5 minutes of her time.

Then I said of course I don't want to activate. I did not register anything in that website and told her to check her attitude. She said I wasted her time, I said suddenly my email is registered with them, of course I'm curious and want to find out how it happened. Then she bla bla bla rudely and hang up. Wtf man. Only God knows what other infos they have...

Any of you experience this in your career before?

Ok so... I've been thinking a lot whether or not to open this topic. Because it may sound more like a rant than asking for advice. But still I really want to let it out of my chest and maybe some of you who had gone through what I'm experiencing now could share a few advices.

If you guys see the topics that I had opened before, you will know I'm kinda in a difficult time now. I'll try to summarise the story as short as possible and forgive me if I choose not to disclose any personal info because who knows who might be reading this. I will spoiler it to not make it look like a wall of text.

So, I'm in a very small team workplace. One hand is enough to count the total workers (including me) in that workplace. We're based in somewhere far away from boss. Means boss is stationed at another branch, and my workplace doesn't have boss. Last time everything was good. We come, we do our work, we go back. Simple. Then after a while(few years ago), boss hired a senior colleague. Senior as in age(40+), no previous experience in this industry. He's in charge of the marketing side, while I'm in charge of the operation side. And yes, I do have more experience in this industry than him, although younger.

Long story short, it's very hard to communicate with him. Because he have no previous experience in this industry, he should somehow try to listen a little bit to me and others, because we can teach/share info. But he didn't want. Ok fine. If he didn't want to listen to younger colleagues probably because of his "senior ego", then he should try to learn and pick up himself fast. But did he? Again, he didn't. This is where the problem starts.

When communicating with a senior person like him, it's like chicken and duck communicating. Fast forward to recently, in between those period of time, lots of arguments and politics. Mind you, before he came, there was no politic, because remember I said we're just a small team? Very hard to have politics with just a few people.

When there is a problem or a question, because I'm more experienced, I know the answer is a straightforward A to B. But he never want to listen. He will suggest his own answer which will bring you far away to one big round which in the end still comes back to my answer. Sometimes even far away to a point that he's out of topic. He have no experience in this industry, he don't know what he's talking about. There are a lot more things that I won't type here because it's too long. Our communication problem is far more than that example.

What made it worst is, sometimes our problems came to the knowledge of boss. And surprise surprise, boss backed him up. For a long time I couldn't understand why, until recently I figured out that actually boss want to keep this place (our small team) alive, means he doesn't want this place to close, and he didn't want the trouble (presumably) of finding a qualified person to replace him. Or maybe he didn't want to be cruel or didn't know how to kick him out.

Mind you, that senior colleague is a marketing that didn't really have figures. Didn't reach target every month. If it's other boss, he would've been kicked out long time ago. And that is not the worst, the more worst thing is he had been promoted to assistant manager. What is happening here? Like I said before, I think my boss wants somebody senior to look after this place. He's the only senior one(in age, not in experience), hence unfortunately he's the chosen one. So means he kinda have some sort of authority now, can you imagine an unqualified person being given power and authority? Yes, hell breaks loose. Crazy rules, procedures that doesn't make sense, etc.

Sorry for my long story. Did this happen to any of you before or currently? How do you guys deal with this kind of "senior ego" problems?

So...I've been in my company for almost 5 years now. I'm openly searching for new offer now. The thing is, of course the sensible decision would be to quit after found a new job. I know there are many threads about people quitting first and jobless for many months, some even years. But I feel like I couldn't take it any longer... I can see there's no bright future ahead of me in this company. Staying on would be wasting time. I might have to quit first and pray hard that I will get a job not long after I quit.

Also this is not an abrupt decision. Because somehow I feel leaving at beginning of the year is the best time. Due to my bonus will be coming soon, and some other people in other company will be leaving too after getting their bonus (my assumption), hence some vacancies would be available.

Quitting first without securing a new job is risky. But I have calculated and just in case if I can't find a new job within few months, my savings would let me stay afloat for almost one year. But of course, I didn't wish to be jobless for that long and deplete my savings. My resignation notice is 3 months. I'm hoping I can get a new job within that 3 months notice.

I know this looks like a blog/rant but actually I have a question that needs to be answered as below. I have posted this question in my previous thread but no one answered lol.

The question
"Suddenly I have another thinking. What if after I tender resignation, and HR have calculated when is my last day. (I have not yet taken any leave yet). Then suddenly within that 3 months notice I need to take a few leaves, what to do? HR will recalculate my last day or I can't take leave in that 3 months notice at all?"

Every year when CNY time, sure got many good/bad/funny stories one other than the usual "when are you getting married?" "what is your job now?" On my side, everytime during CNY, when some certain relatives come, they will muka tebal eat finish the biskut, snacks etc. Damn.. yes those are for guests, but no shy to eat finish? Mind you, those snacks are full before they come. Not even half.

You have 2 types of employees. One is not so discipline (sometimes late a bit to office, lunch time longer a bit than allowed), but always can finish the work before go home. Another one is very discipline (come to work on time, lunch time also on time), but didn't do anything in each day. Got problem also don't want ask, just sit there pretend busy and do nothing actually.

Which one will you keep and let go?

Resignation notice

My company resignation notice is 3 months. Let's say if I went for interview and got the job. What if the new company need new employee immediately or within one month. How to make/tell the new company to wait for me? I can't just leave before the 3 months notice is over...
