Last week, I ordered a RM300 disposal service for a sofa, washing machine, fridge, and one bed frame. I sent photos to the company and everything was confirmed as OK.

When the transportation company came today, they said that manpower was not included and they did not even bring a trolley to move the items out.

Am I in the wrong, or are they? I ordered a disposal service, so I expected them to come, move all the items out, and get paid. I did not expect to move the items myself to their lorry. It's my rental unit in a condo.

I have a motorcycle licence, but I haven't ridden since I got a car. I'm thinking of getting an electric bike or e-bicycle for moving around the taman, it would be easier for quick trips to the 99 Market or for exercising in the neighbourhood. I don't plan to ride more than 5 km, it's just for nearby errands.

My budget is up to RM5,000, but I'm fine with something cheaper.

KUALA LUMPUR: The government is considering the implementation of an AI-based road monitoring system that would utilise scanning technology, inspection drones, and public feedback submitted through a dedicated app.

The proposal, put forward by road safety expert Professor Dr Law Teik Hua, aims to reduce accidents caused by potholes.

Law said that the system would employ smart algorithms to analyse data, predict risk areas, and prioritise repairs based on the extent of damage.

"The information collected would be displayed transparently via a central dashboard, with automatic alerts sent to authorities and concession companies, thereby enhancing accountability," he said.

The issue of potholes leading to fatalities is a growing concern that demands urgent attention.

"This recurring issue highlights significant flaws in the infrastructure maintenance system and raises important questions about the accountability of concession companies and the effectiveness of government oversight," he told BH yesterday.

On Saturday, NST reported that a young man died after the motorcycle he was riding skidded due to hitting a pothole on the Kuantan-Cherok Paloh road near Kampung Hijrah in Kuantan, Pahang.

This incident took place less than a month after a similar accident involving two siblings on their way to school in Kluang, Johor.

He said that negligent companies should be held accountable by providing full compensation to victims' families and that investigation reports for each fatal incident should be made public to ensure transparency.

"This issue goes beyond just potholes; it concerns the safety and lives of the public," he added.

KUALA LUMPUR: Australian rare earth materials producer Lynas’ licences have been renewed for three years, from March 3, 2023, until March 2, 2026, said Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Chang Lih Kang.

“Therefore all licence conditions that have been decided before on March 3, 2020, until March 2, 2023, must continue to be complied with by Lynas,” said Chang.

However, with the licence extension, Chang said Lynas will not be allowed to carry out any cracking and leaching (C&L) processes in Malaysia.

"Lynas must comply with the conditions imposed since March 2020 so that C&L activities that produce radioactive waste will be conducted in Australia.

"No C&L activities will be carried out at the Lynas Advanced Material Plants (LAMP) in Gebeng, Pahang after July 2023.

"Other activities that do not involve the production of radioactive waste are allowed to continue operating," said Chang.

I bought food buy 1 free 1 that available start on 3pm and I bought it like 3.02pm, I receive only one item and the CS said it is based on merchant's stock availability. Just beware of this. Basically the promotion is still available now, just open your shopee food and click the banner on top.

I think they should state clearly if the Buy 1 Free 1 is finished, not letting the client bought it and only send one item. We planned our food and shopee expect us to share one portion of food for two persons.

Desktop vs Laptop

My office desktop keep auto-shutting down on it's own, so now I either have to get it to repair or I buy a new laptop/desktop.

The laptop/desktop mostly is for paper work stuff like excel/google chrome etc. No heavy application needed.

1)Repair the desktop feel like not worth it as it's more than 5-10 years old desktop, it's like first gen i3 Dell computer.
2)Buy Desktop part and replace all the internal motherboard/CPU/power supply etc
3)Buy the whole new Desktop
4)Buy Laptop

Feel like buying laptop and is much better than desktop because in case MCO/CMCO and need to WFH, my staff can just bring it back home.

Additional question, if I buying new laptop/desktop, how to dispose the old desktop?
