Does anyone know if KPDNHEP actually handles online scam? Like say you bought something from a seller online, be it personal or company, via direct bank in and they didn't ship the item to you and ghost you.

How to park number plate

Hi all, appreciate if someone can enlighten me on how does parking number plate on motor works. I have briefly read before that they find motor shop to do this and pay some fees monthly/yearly etc but does anyone know how exactly does it work? Like is the car plate registered to a new motor? Where is the motor stored after that? How long do they allow us to park the plate like that? Thanks in advance.

Semi/flexi loan interest reduction

Hi, I was wondering if someone can answer my question on how interest calculation works for semi/full flexi loans.

Say I take a loan of 1M for 35years at 3.85%. Based on https://www.calculator.com.my/home-loan-calculator, the monthly installment is RM4,338.23. If I were to pump 100k into the flexi loan for 1year:
1. I believe I will still pay the same monthly installment of RM4,338.23. So does this mean a higher portion of the monthly installment is being used to reduce the capital? If yes, how much is this portion?
2. How do we calculate the effective savings per year (capital reduction of 100k + higher capital reduction from monthly installment)? Basically how does it compare if I were to put that 100k into FD of the same rate (3.85%)?

Thank you in advance.

Speaker repair

So quite some time ago my Edifier M3600D decided to die on me. But it dint totally die as there is lights on the speaker just no sound so I felt abit wasted to throw it away. I decided to try to see if I can diy fix it before throwing it away. I have opened it up but I didn't see any capacitor leaking so I am not sure which component is the one to replace. And I am not sure could it be the power supply that I need to replace. Here are some pictures of the circuit board:
[attachmentid=11469935]
[attachmentid=11469936]
[attachmentid=11469937]

I will try to recall the process of it dying hope it can help determine the root cause.
- First, it started with me needing to turn the volume knob a few times (i turn it left and right) when i switch the speaker on before there will be any sound from it. (Not sure if there is a symptom before this symptom where there will be a delay before sound will come out from the speaker cant remember clearly already)
- At some point of time I also noticed the light on the speaker does not turn off immediately after i turn of the switch. Not sure if it behaved like this previously.
- Next, the light on the speaker keeps blinking and it wont output any sound. I think that time switching off and letting the light slowly blink till it turn off helped solved it temporarily.
- Then it just dint output any sound anymore. Turning the knobs or switching it off and on again doesnt work as well. But the light is now solid (no blink). I tried using different inputs from the speaker or using different devices still no sound
- And after that, there was one instance when i was testing things out and i heard a pop sound (not sure what i was doing that triggered it) but there is still lights when i switch it on

So yeah that is the current state of the speaker. There is lights (doesnt blink) when i turn it on just no sound. No matter which input it is.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Treatment for new car

I just collected my new car recently and am thinking of what treatment do we need to do for new car. I heard of coating, waxing, polishing, PPF etc but want to know which one is really needed or suitable for new car. My concern is because my car is pearl orchid white and white gets those watermark and black stains very easily. I do plan to wash my car regularly like once a week or fortnight but just wondering is there any treatment that can help protect these from eating into the paint or prolong the time it takes for these effects from appearing?

Downpayment for car

Not sure if this topic has been discussed before, but let's say I want to buy a 120k car and have 80k cash after selling my existing car. Do I:
1. All in downpay the 80k to reduce monthly installment
2. Pay downpayment such that monthly installment is at an amount so that loan can be approved ie 20k and put the remaining 60k in low risk/very safe investments/fd and use the return generated to reduce burden on monthly installment

The idea behind this question is that we all know car installment is low around 2.5-3% (since its not on reducing capital) whereas some FD can provide up to 4% or you may even find some relatively safe investment like ASB that generates 5% or more return.

Which way will give me more savings at the end of the day? Anyone done the math on this before? I tried doing once but its kinda complicated and I am not sure if I did it correctly.

Budget SSD recommendation

Recently just bought my old laptop off company and plan to let my dad use. The laptop does not come with ssd so thinking of getting a cheap one to improve boot time and app launch time. Currently looking for cheap M.2 SSD as this will be just for casual web surfing and some Excel work. Any recommendations? The laptop only supports M.2 SATA SSD and I saw the 240GB WD Green M.2 SSD for less than RM120 is this SSD good enough for the task?

Need financial advice on buying car

Currently my 2006 car keep need to repair (suspension, brake, power steering etc). Quite fed up and once change the parts, the car dont feel as nice to drive as it used to be. Thinking of getting a new car but need some financial advice. I prefer to drive bigger cars (feels more stable), so thinking of getting C segment car. But installment will be quite tough on my current salary even on 5years installment. Should I go for B segment and get 3 years installment (but possibly changing to C segment in the near future ~5years) or straight go for C segment with 5 years installment and use for >10years?

Best way to use desktop HDD on laptop

My mum likes to download alot of tv shows. She used to buy many 2.5" external hdd to store them. But strangely most of them start to fail after 3 years. I was thinking of asking her to try get a proper NAS HDD (WD Red etc) to store them but she uses a laptop. So what is the most economical way to connect these 3.5" desktop HDD to a laptop? Buying a NAS enclosure would be too pricey so I was thinking are those 3.5" HDD enclosure with ac adapter like UGreen ones reliable? Or is there a better way to do this?

Thanks
