Malaysia taxation on income earned abroad

Hi, i'd like to ask if anyone knows about taxation on income earned abroad.

I am contemplating on relocating to Cambodia or Thailand for a job. There are opened positions in this two countries. As far as i can make out, Thai has a double taxation treaty already in effect with Malaysia but not Cambodia.

In terms of income earned while working abroad. Do i get taxed when i move money from those countries back to Malaysia (i have not found out the process yet whether it is through TT or hand carry money back). Is there any needs for declaration?

I have read in general that income earned abroad is not taxable in Malaysia for individuals but then the DTA sort of confused me.

I am currently offered two options to get my complete salary in the country i am working for or have a portion of it paid out in Malaysia to my Malaysian banking account by the operating office located in KL. But from reading what i found, it stipulates that only income earned abroad is not taxable. Does that mean that my partial salary paid out in KL will be subjected to Malaysian taxes? If i opt for that option?

I have run into a dead end from trying to get answers from Google. Appreciate some help if anyone has experience in it.
