Ryzen 3300X stock cooler load temp...

Hey guys,

I recently installed Rivatuner to check my 3300X with stock cooler temp while gaming. Just noticed that temp spikes are quite common and a bit worrying...

this is the result from rivatuner/afterburner while playing genshin impact:

Ambient temp: 26-27c (lousy aircon)

CPU Usage%: around 15-50 percent (average 35)
CPU temps: 67-86c (hover around 75c, spiking to 80+c every 15-20 seconds for 2-3 seconds)

for reference:
GPU GTX960 temps: max 68c, average 62c)
GPU Usage%: 80 to 100%

PBO is off and control profile is Default in Ryzen Master.

edit: Corsair HUGE-ass case (Obsidian 650D), with only 1 exhaust fan behind, near the CPU cooler.

is this normal? will it affect the CPU lifespan? There's so many conflicting result from google that i'm not so sure now...

Windows 10 freeze at startup logo

Recently fresh installed Windows 10, fully updated and installed some apps. But about 60% of the time if I boot or restart PC, it will freeze on Windows 10 startup logo.

I can see my mouse and keyboard led on when pc is booting, but mouse led will off first, followed by keyboard led off on windows 10 logo.

If the kb and mouse led come back on after 1-2 seconds off, then windows will continue booting, if not, stuck at windows logo forever.

Things I tried:
1. Windows Automatic Repair
2. SFC / DISM
3. unplugging my usb devices 1 by 1
4. AppXSVC regedit off
5. no antivirus
6. Ram tested
7. totally fine if I managed to boot into w10, gaming etc
8. rollback to absolutely fresh install
9. totally reset windows 10
10. disable USB Legacy Support in BIOS
11. re-enable hibernation to untick fast-startup

any ideas guys?

spec:
i5 2500k
asus p8z68v pro gen 3 newest firmware
giga gtx 960 windforce
8gb kingston ddr 3 1333
500w seasonic psu
intel 1.8" 180gb ssd system drive
klevv 256gb ssd

edit: I read there's this bug with windows 10 with some newer keyboards with USB Lecacy 3.0 support in older mobo. I tried disabling that, and it "seemed" to work. need further testing.

edit2: I think I managed to solve it, cos the last 4 times I cold boot, this doesnt happen anymore. Will update if it happens again.

edit3: nope, didn't work, and the symptoms gotten worse, 95% fail rate to boot into windows, even after resetting windows 10. Will clean install another ISO on another SSD tonight to see if it helps.

edit4: pretty confident this time I have fixed it, cos the entire boot "sequence" is changed, ie it shows the icon then directly off my usb peripherals light, then direct success boot into windows everytime.
too bad I can't be of much help, because I basically just downloaded another ISO with 1909 update from microsoft, Rufus it, install it on my other SSD, and swapped SSD port to 6Gbps (was on 3Gbps b4), so anything can be a fix, the ISO, the SSD, the port, so yeah....

Hi there,

I've had a strange problem with my graphic card and pc setup and couldn't really determine which part is at fault because I don't have a spare card (nor do my friends). Please help me bros.

Here's information I tidied up for diagnosis:

1. general info
mobo p8z68v-lx
graphic card Palit gtx 560 OC on the PCI-E graphic card slot
power supply Seasonic 500w (forgot model)

2. problem: sometimes when switching on pc, there's no video signal. read below for more info

3. problem started a few years ago, which I fixed after reseating the graphic card/ram etc and have been fine for at least 2 years. then starting to happen again after my pc got struck by lightning and burnt my mobo network port.

4. problem only occurs when cold booting after a long time (6-8 hrs) of not switching on the pc

5. everything runs fine when problem occurs. even can hear my pc entering windows (windows sound) and sis access my pc with LAN

6. turns out it is my card not detected by mobo, if unplug my dvi from card to onboard graphics during the problem, it will show my windows etc normally

7. card fan is running.

8. most of the time reseating card solves the problem. sometimes don't. and have to wait till it fixes itself.

so... any good guess on which part is the culprit? the card, the pci-e slot, or something inside the mobo that's acting up? I am willing to change gfx card, but I don't want to risk it changing card just to find the problem is on my mobo.

recently got a few games i wanted to play very badly (DAI, maybe witcher 3), thus thinking of changing gfx card. but seems like im stuck at a pretty embarassing time with my current budget of RM600-RM900...

GTX760 was prefect before 970 come out, but 970 is a bit too much for my budget and i heard pci-e 2.0 could bottleneck it?

please advise what options do i have. brand, models etc. thank you.

ADSL modem cause noise? (update: nope)

Hi all,

I've been bothered by loud sandy noise on phone line and ADSL disconnecting when picking up phone for a few months already. And have tried everything possible to narrow out the problems.

Yesterday streamyx tech finally came and replaced the cable between my phone line socket to the tiang behind my house. but problem still persist.

my test setup:
Directly connecting from the phone cable from the tiang to a splitter, and to a phone and the modem. strictly no other connection (phone line part). cables are all very short and within 1 m to each other (splitter modem phone)

changed at least 3 different splitters, changed cable connecting the phone to splitter.

still got noise and dc.

off modem. noise gone.

so i'm wondering, is it possible the modem is the culprit? but I do not have a spare modem and cant find someone to lend me. should i be getting a new modem?

Hi all sifus,

My AMEX just got hacked today and I'm REALLY curious as to what I did wrong/did not do that let it happen because I am a very careful online user. So I need advices from sifus about this.

Here's a few facts on my usage behavior and the hacked case:
1. First of all, the hacked transaction IS NOT FROM PAYPAL because it does not start with PAYPAL etc etc. So it is not my PayPal that got compromised.
2. As far as I can remember, I NEVER enter my AMEX credentials except the first time I key it into PayPal, which is at least a year (or 2) away from now.
3. I ALWAYS use PayPal to access my AMEX to pay online.
4. I use my Amex almost every 2 weeks to pump petrol at Shell.
5. The hacked transaction is an online purchase. The card is with me.
6. Merchant's name is Karmaloop, which is an online website selling apparels. No bad rep after googling abit.

SO here's the question: How the hell did my Amex got compromised?
1. PayPal does not list the full number of card, so I don't think they got it from there.
2. I never enter the Amex details on PC. So even if I am infected with keyloggers, it won't get compromised. UNLESS it is from a year (or 2) ago when I enter it into PayPal...
3. My MB2U won't list the security number behind my card as well AFAIK. So the hackers won't be able to use it even if they hack it through my MB2U.

That leave only one possibility I can think of: the Shell transactions. Is it possible they got it from there? or their machines got compromised etc.

Thanks guys and gals in advance. Really need to know why I got hacked even with my very secure way of using it (I think).

Dual Monitor Setup Possible?

Hi guys, planning to get a Sammy 3D 23 monitor tonight, I'm planning to pair it with my current Acer 19inch on a Sapphire HD5670. Is it possible?

Both monitors have different capabilities (3D vs non-3D), different refresh rate (120 vs 60), different resolution (1920 vs 1440), and different input from my gcard (1dvi 1 hdmi/vga).

Will I be able to enjoy 3D movies on the left side (sammy) while reading msn on the right side (acer)?

iPhone 3G unable to use 3G

hi people,

I am unable to connect to DiGi 3G network with my unlocked US iPhone 3G, running OS 3.1.2. Whenever I switch on 3G, I completely lost the network signal (became No Service). I only able to use EDGE.

I've tried the IPCC method but to no avail. Is it because my SIM too old? I think I changed the SIM about a year ago.

Any idea?
