Driving to Singapore - VEP Daily Chargers

Hi guys,

I am reading on the VEP chargers for Malaysian vehicles entry into Singapore and would like to clarify with others who are well versed with the chargers.

VEHICLE ENTRY PERMIT (VEP) FEE FOR FOREIGN-REGISTERED VEHICLES
VEP fees apply to all foreign-registered cars and motorcycles that enter Singapore.

Foreign-registered cars and motorcycles are required to pay daily VEP fees for each day the vehicles are kept or used in Singapore.

With effect from 1 August 2014, VEP fee for foreign-registered cars will be S$35 per day. VEP fee for foreign-registered motorcycles will remain at S$4. Motorists can still drive into Singapore for 10 VEP free days per calendar year. There is also no change to the VEP operating hours.

Reading the disclaimer above, does this mean I do not get charge for VEP even if I drive in during weekdays? Since my car did not enter Singapore this year, and it says there is 10 VEP free days per calender year? Lets say if I drive on Wednesday and leave on Friday, do I have to pay for the $35 sgd per day rate? I'm a bit confused.

DBKL Saman - Do I have to pay or just ignore?

Haih, got a DBKL saman today when I park at a taxi stand along with other cars. I was a few seconds away to ask him to stop, but the officer said he already printed and apologize to me... sigh. The fine says I have to pay within 14 days, but it doesn't state the fine amount? My colleague in 2008 told me that I do not have to pay for samans unless it is from the police. So can I just ignore this saman from DBKL by throwing it away? Or do I have to pay for it? What are the consequences of throwing it away, can I still renew my road tax and sell my car in the future?

im looking for these kind of candles. Pink, blue, green, red and yellow. Full coloured without any patterns. Do anyone here knows where i can find these around PJ or KL area?

I found this picture from a malaysian manufacturer in Perak, and the website is so unfriendly, dont even have price and check out. I hope you guys can help me out.

I've seen some candles on the ikea catalog, but they dont have these varieties and I need the colours to be specific. Hope, maybe some of you guys might have some experience or have encountered places which sells these. I also tried some cake and party stores, but they only sell those which comes with patterns.. which is not appropriate.

Hey guys,

I just bought a new Seagate 160GB IDE 2.5 hard drive. But when I placed it into the external enclosure and plug in the USB to my lappy, it doesn't detect and I can't find the drive.

I tried the computer management part, I can't seem to find the drive too. The only place I could see is on "Safety Remove Hardware" where it was named ST916082 1A USB Device.

Do you guys have any idea how I could possibly detect it?

Did a first test of a newer rig. Worked out pretty well but needs more adjustment. Had it sent to the fabricator for some teaks, can't wait to rig the next car. Which is this weekend, Brabus CLS... hehe

If you're all wondering what car is this, it's actually a Toyota Supra. With the Lexus SC transformation, and Super GT wide body kit made by Monster Garage.

Very fast, Very expensive & Very cool!

This car is spectacular, it's a monster indeed! Not a car you would like to drive everyday, it's probably one of the most difficult cars I had ever driven, took me quite a while to get the clutch work with the gas. And I was pretty freaked out after 2cd gear. The speed just smashes into your face. Oh and the clutch feels like 50kgs of leg press. Brakes doesn't feel normal either. The dashboard is like a jet fighters cock pit and smells like petroleum inside. It really gives a super car feeling, like a Gumpert but a street and much more less comfortable version. It has about 700-800hp under the hood. The owner is probably one of the most responsible drivers I had ever known who drives cars like these.

It was pretty fun doing this shoot. We were accompanied with some pretty bored police officers who were just interested to ask about the car. And it happened twice, they were cool. It's also amazing to watch how people would look at this car when driving through the highway and town areas. One driver on the road was having his eyes glued to this car that he nearly knock into me by the side.

Like to thank my friends for helping me out on this, couldn't have done it without them!

I did this yesterday and here I present you my first rig shot. I'm kind of happy about the composition.

We reached there at 8 am in the the morning, and it was raining and there were a lot of cars on the road. It was too risky, so I decided to look around for other locations. But eventually, there wasn't any nice places and my mind was still set to shoot on the bridge. After about and hour or so, the rained had stopped and we started cleaning up our cars and headed back to the bridge.

It took us one and a half hours to fix the rig. I know this is too much, but I didn't had any experience. I found out that my rig was too big, and when it was rigged on my car. The distance between the rig and earth was less then a centimeter.

I was very disappointing about it because when we did a demo on the highway (before the bridge)... the rig was about to come off every time. And another issue I have encounter was that the camera support equipment couldn't clamp on the rig because it was too thick, and I was forced to clamp at the very end of the rig which added so much weight that the rig came out several times. It was just too risky and I wanted to tell my friends to call it a day. But I can't leave without anything, I came 60 kilometers far from home, wasted petrol and dragged my best friend into this too. So I decided, I can't be bothered about the traffic or anyone, i'll do it!

15 minutes walk from the highway where we fixed our rig to the bridge. When I reached the beginning of the bridge. I felt that as if heaven was just meters away! A hard day work is about to pay off, and all I need to do is pray that the rig doesn't come off in the middle of the highway. My friends were thinking that this is just insane. Taking two lanes out of three and we were driving like snails.

We started off when the road was pretty clear. My best friend inside his car (black CRV) was so worried that on coming traffic might crash into us. When we reached about three quarter of the bridge, the police drove by. I was thinking that I am in deep shit and thought they would pull us over. But they didn't, they didn't even look at us. I was wondering, maybe they didn't saw us huh? lol...

Coming to the end of the bridge when I sense freedom and relieve just a few meters away, the rig came off by itself. :|

You guys must be wondering, how come I didn't get supersonic motion blur. Well, I didn't have enough neutral density to cut down the harsh light. And this is the furthest I could go.
