Hey guys, today just wanna share with you of my newly bought laptop at Tech Armory. Hope this info helps since a lot people right now are looking for laptop and having no luck with the stock. Without further ado the below are the spec and image of the laptop.

Price: RM4,999

Yea the price is slightly expensive comparing to last year when it newly release due to the global shortage and the mining shenanigan, but the spec are still can be consider cheap at the current market.

Compact and powerful laptop is becoming a trend by the gaming laptop provider brands and they are focusing making more slim gaming laptop that pack a punch. Today I got a chance to review this MSI GS75 slim gaming laptop powered with RTX2080 graphic, a 17.3" display with thinnest bezel frame design which make the screen looks bigger.

The GS75 Stealth I have comes with below Specifications:
- Intel Core i7 8750H

- GeForce RTX 2080 Max-Q

- 32GB of dual channel DDR4-2666 main memory

- 1TB NVMe SSD at RAID0

- 82Whr battery

- 144Hz display with “True Color” sRGB

- Steelseries Per-Key RGB gaming keyboard with SSE3 software

- Hi-Res Audio ready by ESS SABRE HiFi chip with Nahimic 3 sound software

[SIZE=7]I/O : three USB 3.1 gen2 type-A ports, two USB-C ports, one is Thunderbolt 3 and the other USB 3.1 gen 1. There’s Ethernet, a microSD card slot and HDMI as well plus dual 3.5mm audio jacks. But on the contrary there is a big amount of ports on the right side of the laptop, such as HDMI, which makes it a little awkward to have a mouse there if several things are plugged in.

18.89mm of the height but still decent solid despite the thickness, but it is still rather fragile if you did not take well care of it. But Comparing to the previous generation GS series, it have indeed become more sturdy.

How is MSI GE75 performance?

I do know that the previous GE73 were good overall, but not sure about the new model.

Asus ROG Strix GL502V and GL502VSK problems?

Were looking through some ROG laptop for my friend and suddenly saw this article about a user sue Asus ROG Strix GL502V and GL502VSK for false advertising? Read it here

True that most of ROG laptop does come with low quality thermal control, a price for a price. But is the advertising really that off with the actual model?

Anyone here is using GL502V or GL502VSK? Do share with me where i'm really curious about it

GTX1060 Stronger than GTX1060 MaxQ?

Hi everyone, we are here again to test on Nvidia MaxQ vs the standard Nvidia. This time we are testing on the model:

MSI GP62MVR 7RF (GTX1060) & HP Omen 15 (GTX1060 MaxQ)

As per last time we had unexpected result comparing GTX1070 and GTX1080 MaxQ, This time we would like to test the GeForce GTX1060 3GB GDDR5 graphics to challenge the GTX1060 Max-Q Design with 6GB GDDR5, see how big is the difference between regular version of GTX1060 3GB gaming notebook and a GTX1060 Max-Q Design 6GB graphics.

From what we know and justify, Max-Q designed for slimmer gaming notebooks, but accompany with lower heat, that also made any GTX Max-Q with lower performance, even a bit lower than regular GTX. Before we start testing, we uncover what kind of fan system on both laptops, Why? If the performance of the fan is good, the overall performance will be better.

From what we see below, GP62MVR Model come with 2 fans and 6 heatpipes, Omen 15 is using the MaxQ cooling design which only come with 3 heatpipes .

Let's take a look on 3DMark 11P score, GTX1060 with turbo mode got a score of P13240 which is higher than Omen 15 which is at P10717

Following, we will try the newer benchmark called “SUPERPOSITION BENCHMARK” designed by Unigine 2, with latest DirectX12 engine that makes this benchmark comes with great lighting effects, show the real-time rendering in a classical lab with anti-gravity machine effects, the 1080P High preset benchmark result showed GP62 have a score of 6034, FPS at average 45.13 and GPU kept under 72°C. Following that Omen 15 score 4892, FPS at average 36.60 and temperature also below 72°C

More test with DirectX 12 Benchmark

Although we did test with game such as PUBG (Player Unknown Battleground) but we failed to capture the FPS because we so deep in the game
As far as performance and statistic goes, GP63MVR top the chart against Omen 15. Although MaxQ design provide slim gaming laptops but it sacrifice some of it's performance in order to reach that slim body, but to testify more we will do more test in the future.

GTX1070 stronger than 1080 Max-Q?

Hi everyone, me and my pals just got our hands on the model with GTX1080 Max-Q and were eager to try and doing a short review and testing comparing to GTX1070.

*Disclaimer: We are only testing based on the model we bought, the statistic and figure might be different with other model.*

The model we are using :

MSI GE63VR 7RF Raider & Asus ROG Zephyrus GX501 V1

Most of the users buy top level gaming notebooks with the require spec of GeForce GTX 1070 or GTX 1080 graphics because of the greater 3D performance and gaming power. But you have to sure that you could squeeze all of the power to drive highest performance as possible, but the output will still be limited due to the design limitations.

From what we know, as a lower power version of GPU, GTX1080 Max-Q designed for slimmer gaming notebooks, but accompany with lower heat, that also made the GTX1080 Max-Q with lower performance, even a bit lower than regular GT1070 on GE63VR 7RF Raider, based on the GPU-Z clock difference, you could see the GTX1080 Max-Q lack of the Core/Memory clock around 500MHz, so it might be around 20%lower than regular GTX1080. GE63VR 7RF Raider GeForce GTX1070 manage to got highest performance at Turbo Mode

When we got the both machine on hand, the first thing we test is the 3D performance and see how is the gaming experience, especially those with GTX1080 Max-Q design. And surely, we must also know how well the fans are doing to get the perfect performance. From what we see, the GE63/GE73VR models comes with dual Whirlwind Blade fans and 7 heat pipes become Cooler Boost 5 and the GX501 is using the Max-Q thermal design (as below) and both are doing a very fine job keeping the machine is constant temperature.

Furthermore, we tested the two high mobility beast with 3D Mark 11 Performance mode, GE63 got a higher score comparing to GX501, then we switch the testing to 3D Mark Fire Strike, which also got higher score around 14400, this is fairly high performance on a notebook with a regular GTX1070.

More test with DirectX 12 Benchmark

As far as performance and statistic goes, GE63VR 7RF top the chart against GX501, But there are still quite less review and testing regarding the Max-Q design comparing to the standard GTX and we wish to hear more from you guys.
