Dear LYN gurus,

First of all, I will not be postings any names, nicknames, pictures, detailed information until I get advise that I should go ahead with this post, because I do not want to unnecessarily stain a seller's name if it could be avoided.

I am seeking advise from your forummers if I should proceed with this complaint thread, but more than anything, I need all your kind and wise advise in regards to what I should do.

Details of event:

- In mid of 2012, I've purchased a handphone from a fellow forummer. I've read a lot of thread dispute threads, and did a background check on this seller, he seemed good, lots of good reviews by fellow forummers about him, and decided to go ahead with the deal.

- Met up, checked the phone, it was in good condition, I was happy, I bought it.

- In July of 2012, I received a call from the police, asking me to go down to the police station. At first I thought it was one of those scams where they get you to go out and rob you. But, he told me he knew where I live (my actual home address) and what car I drive (he read out my carplate number to me wtf), and said if I don't go in myself, he will come to my house and bring me to the station in handcuffs!!! I called the station the police claimed to be calling from, they verified this guy, the handphone number he called me from, and even verified I was a wanted person!

- Went down to the station, and eventually, the police told me I was called in because the phone I was using (which I bought from forummer) was stolen. Long story short, they tracked me through the phone's IMEI or something like that, and they confiscated the phone. I told them how I obtained the phone, and they told me they would apprehend the seller (which they did).

- Contacted the seller regarding this after a few days(because police told me not to immediately contact for fear he might flee), and seller mentioned that he got brought into lockup too, asked him for a compensation, and he mentioned that he will compensate me after he clears up things on his side.

- From then until now, I've been in touch with the seller, regarding the status of the case, and compensation for me.

But recently, the seller told me that:
- To get compensation, he'd have to clear things up with his partner, and he's having a hard time with his partner. (they have an actual business, hence the biz partner).
OK understand - gave him some time, understand things must be tough for him as he was under police investigation for theft.

- He mentioned that the phone he sold was obtained by his partner, so have to claim for his partner despite the forummer being the one who sold it to me.

- Recently he's been asking me for my help, to approach his partner, to clear up these things, but I did not want to get involve with his partner, I don't see why I should, as the deal was between him and me, and not me and his partner? That aside, I have been very busy with work, and did not have much time to run around for all this.

- Even more recently, I've questions him about this, saying that the deal was between me and him, and not me and his partner, as I bought it from HIM from this forum, should compensation be between me and HIM? And whatever happened between him and his partner to be sorted between them?

His last respond to me was that: the deal is not between me and him, but rather me and his company. And that as his partner was the director of the company, who gets the stock for him to sell, I should be taking action against his partner instead.

Can somebody please advise me what I should do?

What is right and what is wrong?

If I should really take action against the seller's company (if yes, what is the appropriate step, as I wasn't given a receipt from the company as a proof that I purchased from the company) rather than the seller himself? Or rather, who is the party who should be responsible to compensate me?

Again, I will not be posting any names, pictures, print screens, or links to thread yet, because I do not want to taint somebody's name unnecessarily, until I get a confirmed answer in regards to what I should do, or who should be responsible to me...
Also, because he has not disappeared, and is still replying my whatsapp when I contact him...

Please help me.. and thanks in advance to the people who are willing to give their kind advise.

Hi all tech gurus,

I'm not sure if I'm posting in the right sections - my apologies in advance if I am.

Require some advise/suggestions/pointers regarding email problems.
I'm not super tech savvy so I'm going to use layman terms to my understand of the problem.

Our company uses the email provide by our web host, it looks something like username@companyname.com.my

Everything was working fine until 3 weeks ago, a few of or usual client companies started to be unable to receive our mail.

Not just 1 company, but 4 companies suddenly unable to receive..

When I say unable.. the scenario is like this:

Day 1 - send email to client. Client did not receive.
Day 2 - still no receive.
Day 3 - still no receive.
Day 4 - we (my company) get an email saying "message delivery failed".

the webhoster said the error was something like...

Sent.. timeout.. them reject by the client's email server.

May I ask why is this happening?
is it our server problem? If yes, how can it be fixed?
can it be fixed by changing our webhoster??

the reason I ask here is cause, our company tried many times to get a solution from our web hoster, but they keep saying it is not their problem. And is our client's email problems.. but could it be such a coincidence that it happens to other clients from other companies as well??

Hope to get some guru's opinions / suggestions or even better, solutions!

I have a friend who just came back to Malaysia after being abroad for few years.

She has not driven for a long time, and would like to get a driving instructor to give some refresher courses in regards of how to drive.

Are there any driving schools around in the KL city centre area? Or more specifically around the KLCC area?

If not, what is the nearest school?

Would appreciate your suggestions or better yet, contacts if you guys have any good schools/instructors to recommend!

Question regarding folder sharing.

hi all lyn tech gurus, have a question regarding folder sharing.

scenario:
Office has 1 PC where all shared files are put in and retrieved from (Windows XP).
Office has 3 sales staff with laptops (Windows 7).
Want to create folder in such a way:
listing - location(1) , location(2), location (3) <i>*means listing is main folder, location(1), location(2), and location(3) are the sub folders)*</i>

Question:
How to restrict the access to the sub folders?
Is it possible to set a password?
Or to restrict only 1 person to access the folder?

I tried to check online but the results came back to restricting access to read/write.

But I don't want other people to even be able to go into the folder unless they are set to have the permission to do so.

Can anyone please advise?

Computer Hangs After Log On

Hi there, I seem to be having a problem with my computer (desktop, running on windows 7).

Last night after using my computer to do regular stuff (dota, surf, ms word), I shut down my computer.

Today after nearly more than 12 hour, I turned my computer back on.

Everything is fine, start up, windows logo, ask me to enter password.

But once all the desktop icons load, my computer just hangs.

I cannot mouse click, cannot ctrl+alt+del, cannot right click, does not respond to windows button. BUT, the mouse can still move around. So it's not entirely hang I think.

But I cannot go into msconfig, and I don't know what to do.

I tried to google the issue and came across something called install rootkit but the thing is i cannot even install anything into my computer now because it doesn't respond at all.

I tried to restart it a couple of times, same thing happened except a one time after I log in, the screen became black. Then restart again it went back to all the icons loading and nothing else responds other than the mouse cursor being able to move.

I only recently (less than 2 months ago) formatted my computer, and am using an anti virus (kaspersky), but then again virus are unpredictable so I don't know.

Really scratching my head right now, can somebody please point me in the right direction?

(BTW, I tried to reformat again, but it won't boot from CD, even though I set it to boot from CD at the BIOS, T_T, pls help!)

*update, now it just hangs at the welcome screen T_T

Panty liners

Since I was about 16 or so I developed the habit of using panty liners everyday (3-4 times change a day).

This is because
- I discharge white milky odorless everyday.
- I don't like my panties to be stained by those fluids.

When talking to friends bout this, they gave me the look, n told me they only wear it when period is about to come n don't experience such discharges on daily basis.

So my question is:
1. Does ANYONE ELSE wear panty liners on a daily basis too?
2. Is there something wrong with me for discharging so much fluids?
