Tips for fresh grad? Losing hope

Hi forumers,

Any tips and advices you can give for someone like me? I had applied in countless of places in KL but to no avail, I often found scams and sometimes scary moments while job hunting. Am really drained and I have exhausted the last of my savings

I'm planning to return to my hometown in Penang to continue my search, had to bid farewell to my KL Dream :'(

Any tips? I know you all are really successful and I wished to be as good as you guys.

Hi guys, I moved this to serious k/ like you suggested.

Here's my story. I'm in a temporary job until June, and I'm scared that I won't get to keep this job.

From the amount of savings I had, I only have RM500+ in my account and I am really depressed especially thinking about what would happen. Is there any way to save up more besides just the bantuan? I cant Grab as I don't have any vehicles, freelancing is tough as now everybody is doing it with very low fee and part time jobs is now gone with the MCO.

I actually hoped that the bantuan be more of a job protection than handouts but I'm not picky, its just that with what I have, it looks pretty bleak.

I had already cut expenses (rice, vege and egg with kicap), sometimes I eat chicken to not go crazy, bread in the morning and I am losing too much weight eating only twice per day. I sold all of my stuff and with my meagre salary, can only saved up a little. I didn't tell my parents or family as I didn't wanna bother them while I'm in KL.

Reading here also makes me sad as some also loss their jobs and I feel for you. I hope you can find another job fast. Hope all is well and that I can keep my job too, I don't know if I can find another job after being jobless before this.

TLDR: Could you share with me what you did to improve your personal finance during this MCO period?

How to earn side income in KL 2020

Hey guys, can I know what have you done to earn some side income? I just got my salary and after bills, rent and other payments, I am left with only RM100 to survive for the whole month.

I don't wanna tell my parents and i do have rice and fruits at home. I am worried about tomorrow as my full time job ends middle of the year.

If you have any ideas that i can do, pls let me know. I know you are all definitely better than i am (i have no skills other than typing tbh)

How much do you spent on food/month?

Hey Guys!

I have a serious question. I feel that I overspent on food and is spending RM600 from a remaining RM1.5k salary after paying bills and rent. Could you tell me how much do you guys spent and what is your salary range or percentage from it? We could learn how to better save money from some people here so do let us know!

Here's a template:

Food/Living Expenses: RM600
Net/Gross Salary: Net RM1500 after bill and rent

Update: Some of you wanted to see the full breakdown on my food expenses and I have updated as below:

Food breakdown (before MCO)
Monthly: RM450 (15/day)
At office: Mixed Rice (Around RM8 or 160/month)
At night: Depending on groceries (290)

Any leftover I would used for something nice (like ice cream) or going out with friends.

If you are jobless for months, what would you do?

Hi everyone! I know alot of people here are very accomplished and has been doing great in your respective fields. Unlike you, I find it difficult to find the jobs that I wanted and after months of trying, I feel at lost on what to do in order to achieve what I really want in life. Here is my background/CV:

Applying for: Management Trainee/Graduate Schemes (eg. HSBC, Maybank, CIMB, PwC)
Unemployment Gap: 6+ months
Place of Study: Local Uni
Grade: 1st Class (3.90 CGPA)
Major: Accounting
Internship Exp: Sales & Marketing (FMCG) & Audit Intern (Big 5)
Extra Curriculars: Mostly participation in competitions (GoAhead, HSBC Case), organised several faculty level events with various clubs etc.

Alot of forumers gave me good advices like try networking but I just feel wierd to network, it felt forced and fake and it is something that I cannot really do no matter how badly I need to do it. Did you find anything wrong with me abd any advices for a girl in distress? :'(
