Searching for infant care centres

Hi all, trying my luck here to see if anyone knows of any infant care centres for a 6mo baby within the Cheras, KL area (not the Selangor part which is nearer to Kajang). I'm talking the area of Sunway Velocity, Taman Midah, Taman Tasik Permaisuri etc.

My criteria is that the infant care centre must be registered with the local council (DBKL), centre must be hygienic and caretakers must be kind and caring to my baby.

Added bonus is if the caretakers are qualified/registered with KKM.

I've been looking around the area and so far those that met my criteria are priced quite steeply, like RM1.8-2.2k. I've heard other friends of mine paying less than RM1k for centres that meet my criteria, but I can't find any in my area using Google.

Even if you don't have any recommendations in my specified area, would love to hear your experience on scouting for childcare centres, how you do it, what to look out for, etc. Any sharing is very much welcomed as I'm a first time parent - thanks in advance!

Of Covid19 and weddings

Curious as to what other brides-to-be and grooms-to-be will be doing next.

If your wedding was scheduled to be in Jul-Dec 2020, you most likely already had all your vendors booked and arrangements in place for your dream wedding. But with Covid-19 around, people are saying that they won't even want to attend any weddings.

So what's your decision? Do your vendors allow postponement or allow full/partial refund?

Ring manufacturers in Malaysia

Hi guys. Shopping for wedding rings with a pretty tight budget.

Heard that some jewellery shops like Tomei or Gold Heart don't manufacture their own rings. They buy from other ring manufacturers and resell it at shopping malls at a premium. Hoping that if i can find the manufacturers directly, then I can save some middleman costs

So if you know any ring manufacturers in Malaysia who are willing to sell directly to end users , please share some details here! Or if you know any overseas HK/Japan/etc ring manufacturers whose products are sold in Malaysian shopping malls (still wanna have a look/feel ma..), please also share with me the manufacturer's website and the Malaysian retail stores details!!

where to repair cracked phone glass?

Just bought my brand new Samsung phone. They use glass for the back cover of the phone. I dropped it on the tough tar road just now and the back cover is all cracked.

As per topic title, just wondering what are the companies that offer the best paternity leave in Malaysia?

Maternity leave - a lot of companies offer the standard 3 months, some up to 6 months. But I feel like paternity leave is overshadowed and nobody really discusses this, why?

how many years can you use your powerbank?

My xiaomi powerbank which i just got in first half of 2016 died on me last night.

Suddenly stopped being able to charge, not sure if it is due to the intensity of using i.e. use several tiems and charge everyday. but it's dead now

Had another powerbank before this whose cable port also rosak after 1-2 years of use.

Just wondering what's the average lifetime of powerbank for u guys? Or am I a powerbank murderer

Where to read books for free?

Not being a cheapo or anything, but books can get really expensive in Malaysia. Although there's the option of buying it at Big Bad Wolf or 2nd hand from other readers, the title you're looking for may not always be available.

Just wondering if there are any public libraries or online sites that will allow us to read for free or at least a nominal fee?

was using Trivago to find the cheapest, and Hotelopia was among the top for my choice of hotel.

i always used and trusted Agoda as the cheapest, but in this case Agoda was RM600 while Hotelopia was only RM485

has anyone tried booking with Hotelopia? any catch?

Just realised my 1GB plan got upgraded to 3GB

Just realised recently that Maxis auto-upgraded by 1GB plan to 3GB. They didn't notify me or anything but when I checked my balance, suddenly got 2.XXGB. Not sure if they will charge me extra come billing time.

Received a call from "+01"

Hey guys, I just received a call which shows up as only "+01" telling me I have a court order which must be settled today itself.

It's saying that I need to go to Kedah for a court hearing in relation to Maybank credit card. Before I stated becoming suspicious, I already revealed my name, IC number and mobile number

Any advise as to what I should do now? Call the banks to suspend all credit cards and bank transactions? Not sure if such a drastic measure is needed...
