1. standalone life insurance (no medical card no investment link and no endowment) and/or

2. Medical card (prefer standalone but I think it is usually packaged with life and investment)

Standalone medical card

Hi all,

Need some advice regarding standalone medical card.

Not interested in packaged medical card + life insurance + investment-linked insurance, as I prefer all my insurance to standalone and I do not like to mix investment with insurance.

Was looking online for medical card review but most reviews were for medical card riders.

My baby will be borned this Nov, and I am looking for standalone medical card

1. Existing standalone medical card

Did some research on the following standalone medical card:

Lonpac MediSecure
Allianz Care - Individual
GE Great Medic Xtra + Great Extender (Annual Limit Booster)
AIA A-life Med Regular + A-Plus Med Booster (AL Booster)
HLA Major Medi (pretty high deductible)

Was told prudential does not have a standalone medical card. Not sure if it is true.

Spoken to GE, Prudential and HL agents, and was constantly been hard sell on packaged medical card + life + investment-linked insurance. Was very annoyed as I had explicitly stated upfront that I want standalone medical card and standalone traditional life participating insurance.

Looking to buy standalone medical plan + Booster as most plant's annual limit is simply insufficient for major illness.

Need your advice if

(a) there are other companies with standalone medical card,
(b) do you have any comparison tables across all the companies' standalone medical card
© which standalone medical card do you advise to take up?

2. Prenatal Coverage Rider

Prudential's PruMyChild can add on Infant Care Plan to cover the baby before delivery. But PruMyChild is a investment linked plan which I do not want. Similarly AIA and HL also offers similar ILP with medical card.

Also, Need you guys' advice if you know any insurance company offer prenatal Coverage Rider for standalone medical card?

Is there any other options to cover the baby before birth, as medical card coverage/ application can generally start 14 or 30 day after birth.
