Malay frustrates me here!

It is hard for me to understand Malay and thus hard for me to communicate with some people who uses Malay or mixed (Malay and English) here. Why some people like to use Malay even they know English? Sometimes i can see they are deliberately to use it.

I do not mean i hate Malay or there would be wrong to use it. I just do not understand it and this makes me sometimes get frustrated.

What does he/she want to reveal when they try to use Malay? Really confused and a little frustrated for someone like me who do not know Malay.

Any idea?
