Executing A Cockroach

A cockroach has been put to death by an artist who created a tiny electric chair for the occasion. Sculptor Gabriel Tuazon executed the poor bug after it flew in through a window of his home in Pasig, Philippians. Rather than just taking it back outside, Gabriel spent two hours rigging up a tiny wooden chair which he connected to some battery wires and a light bulb.

He then strapped the roach down with a metal lid on its head before filming himself flick the switch that sent a current through the insect’s body and eventually fried it from the inside. Unsurprisingly, people aren’t happy about Gabriel’s performance. The artist was slammed online for the stunt which many felt was a case of animal cruelty.

‘How can anybody think that this is acceptable.’

‘This is animal cruelty and it should not be allowed.’

But Gabriel is unrepentant about the execution and is keen to point out that the chair was made from ‘recycled plywood’. He says:

‘I opened my window because it was hot and the cockroach came in. He wasn’t supposed to come inside.’

‘It all started when a cockroach entered my room. I was supposed to hit it with an object but felt gross at the idea because I might dirty my working table. ‘I trapped it alive using a plastic. And so the ideas came pouring in.’

After the incident, an unrepentant Tuazon placed the cockroach in a ‘coffin’.

BAYI lelaki lima bulan, Adam Rayqal Mohd Sufi, ditemui sudah meninggal dunia di rumah pengasuhnya di Jalan Nahkoda Kiri Tiga, Kampung Nakhoda, Batu Caves, Gombak.

Ketua Polis Daerah Gombak, Asisten Komisioner Ali Ahmad berkata, mayat Adam Rayqal ditemui kira-kira jam 11 malam tadi dan disorokkan dalam bahagian sejuk beku peti ais dua pintu oleh anggota Bahagian Siasatan Jenayah (BSJ) Ibu Pejabat Polis Daerah (IPD) Gombak yang membuat pemeriksaan di rumah berkenaan.

Katanya, mayat bayi berkenaan ditemui lengkap dengan pakaian namun berbalut kain napkin dan disumbat dalam beg berwarna hijau.

“Mayat Adam Rayqal ini ditemui selepas siasatan polis mendapati terdapat keraguan dalam keterangan pengasuhnya . “Polis kemudian membawa pengasuh berkenaan ke rumahnya sebelum ditunjukkan lokasi mayat bayi itu disimpan," katanya ketika ditemui di lokasi kejadian di Kampung Nakhoda.

Menurut Ali, kes disiasat mengikut Seksyen 302 Kanun Keseksaan dan polis menahan dua suspek iaitu pengasuh yang berusia 33 tahun serta rakan serumahnya yang berusia 36 tahun.

“Mayat bayi berkenaan dibawa ke Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL) untuk bedah siasat,” katanya

Sebelum ini, media melaporkan kehilangan bayi berkenaan dipercayai dilarikan individu tidak dikenali dari rumah pengasuhnya, petang semalam.

Bapa bayi itu, Mohd Sufi, 28, turut memuat naik gambar Adam Rayqal di laman sosial miliknya meminta orang awam membantu mengesan anaknya itu.
