How to add Amazon to Blog

Hi,

I would like to know if any bloggers here have added Amazon into their blogs, website, etc as affiliate partnership to monetise your website. I'm using blogspot. Can still add amazon, right?

1. How do we register in Rakuten? What are the things to watch out for? Kindly advise.
2. Are you guys required to declare tax in the US?
3. With the recent budget 2022 on foreign sourced income, it means the income from the monetisation will be subject to tax, right?

Received a call from this number 017-9190340 earlier today but it is a recorded message. It says it is a call from inland revenue and to wait for further details and then suddenly it ended.

I suspect it is a scam call. So want to alert you guys and for authorities to investigate that mobile number.

Hi all,

How is it that the digital certs I see from you guys are smaller in size but mine is so big. I cannot include everything into a single screen and screenshot it as a photo. My first and second dose are stacked one on top of the other. But there are those I see is side by side.

Is there a way to reduce the size?

Update: I found out it is due to this apps update.

Did any of you guys updated your Mysejahtera app today? Version1.0.42. It says update for self-test info updates or something. But after updating it, it cannot open. Instead it asked you to submit a self declaration form. After putting all the answer, you try to click “submit”. Then there’s an error message that says “invalid employee id/provider id/ form id”.

Then cannot proceed further. Get stuck here. Cannot use the app at all.

Where can get daily average cases for each state?

In order to move from phase 1 to phase 2, there are 3 conditions that are required to be met. One of which is the vaccination rate for the state must be 10%.

The other is the 7day average daily cases per 100,000 persons must be below 12. Is that correct? Where can we get the latest calculations for each state? Any website?

The third condition I believe is the level of icu bed capacity in the state. Again where can we get this info for each state?

Does anyone know? Thanks in advance.

CREDIT CARD HACKED IN FACEBOOK PURCHASE

This is the 2nd time one of persons I know whose credit card got hacked by an unknown person using her credit card. She was informed by an sms she received and she called the bank. Apparently someone outside of Malaysia had used her card to purchase something. But it was too late to stop since the purchase had gone through. The first case was with another card but the purchaser was in yet another country. In both cases, also involving unknown persons using another person's credit card to purchase via FACEBOOK.

I am just wondering. Asking those who had purchased things in facebook - doesn't facebook purchases using credit card requires use of OTP via mobile phone? My guess is NO. Otherwise, the purchase would not have gone through.
If it is true, then there is a BIG SECURITY SLACK in FACEBOOK. Does Facebook care? Obviously not. As long as they earn money through purchases, FB gets so much income. Do they ever care to implement security measures?

I urge people to be careful. Any other people who knows anyone kena before?

My friend never ever buy anything in facebook before. She only uses it to top-up her e-TnG wallet. HOW THE HELL DOES THE HACKER KNOW HER CREDIT CARD?

More Testing, More Positive Cases

This link will tell us one of the reasons for the spike in positive cases is due to more aggressive testing at the work sites.... at factories, offices, etc...

WORK SITE COVID TESTING News Link

That is to be expected. If you want to do testing, ideally it must be done everyday, because today you could be negative but maybe positive tomorrow. It is a very costly exercise but necessary if you want to prevent spreading amongst the work community. BUT the negative consequences is it will result in higher number of positive cases, and then when people see the total so high... they will call for total lockdown. When total lockdown happens, a lot of businesses and sectors cannot open for business.

And apparently, this is just what happened. That seems to be the case, from what I read from the news link.

HR Personnel and Recruiters MUST help the jobless

A lot of jobs can actually be done by many people even though they may not have the best of job experiences or their resume may not look as “canggih”, but as long as they have the skills required for the job, these recruiters MUST try to give the priority of vacancies to people without jobs. Or, select those who are MORE in need of the jobs, not select the best in terms of their usual selection criteria. Do you understand what I mean?

Now there are so many jobless people around and many more going to be jobless as the government keep prolonging the CMCO and extending these to so many areas and other restrictions. Unemployment is skyrocketing. And yet what are these recruiters and HR personnel doing? They still want to pick and choose like they pick and choose diamonds. Who do I mean by recruiters? Surely you have heard of Ranstad, Hays, Michael Page, Robert Walters, and so many others.

Where is their CSR now when it is needed the most? Do corporations think CSR is just once in a while donate some money to old folks homes, orphanages, etc and that’s it??

NOW IS THE BEST TIME FOR THEM TO DO THEIR CSR BY HELPING THE SOCIETY DURING THIS PANDEMIC. How? They can help by giving priority for job interviews to those who have either lost their jobs or going to lose their jobs soon. Then it’s up to these people to do their best during the interview. And if their skill sets matches with the jobs, the hiring managers should offer them the jobs. Don’t be too picky. Try not to select those who are not in risk of losing their jobs, if there is another person who is jobless but who is not the first choice candidate. Select those who are either currently jobless or going to lose job soon... or who has a more urgent need for the job...give these people chance even if they are just the 2nd or 3rd choice candidate. This is my humble suggestion.

Otherwise where is our compassion? 🙏🙏🙏

During the CMCO, I hope TNB will again give us the 50% electricity subsidy for the additional bill incurred due to most people work at home during this period. Of course, if you think you’re rich and have deep pockets, then you don’t need the discount. But I do. And I believe majority of people do.

Please do not extend CMCO in KL. Sel, P

I would urge the authorities not to extend the CMCO in KL, Selangor and Putrajaya but replace it with dedicated TEMCO at locations within each district affected. No more. It’s enough. We cannot sacrifice too much economic value ... unless there is high fatality rate, like example 10-30%. Then yes, extend.

What we need to know is actually not the number of daily new positive cases, but how many of those cases are symptomatic and how many asymptomatic. This will give people more meaningful info on how much they have to suffer physically should they get the virus. I think this is important info before we impose any movement control. If the number of cases with symptoms keep going higher, then yes, we should have stricter movement control. If we see number of cases with symptoms dropping, it means it’s getting better. I feel this statistic will be more meaningful, rather than just pure positive cases.

This is only my suggestion.

Yours humbly.
🙏

New way of retrenching staffs

Suddenly HR comes out with a programme to put staffs with supposedly bad performance on a programme to show improvement. If not improve by end of a certain period, the staff will be shown the exit. The thing is in previous years if anyone performing badly, he/she will just be given a low kpi rating. At most no bonus, no increment. But no need to leave company. But now suddenly there appears to be a list of staffs. Another thing is during the period, the staffs are given a harder set of kpi and assessment criteria to do. Like that is not fair because the staff will surely fail. In the end, the staff will have to resign on his own accord or shown the exit and the employer doesn’t have to pay anything. The problem is the boss also cannot really pinpoint which kpi not performing well and just very blurry saying under performing. But I think no point to fight them. Problem is now it’s difficult to find another job.

Anyone knows about the employment law? Kindly advise. During this pandemic it is also difficult to find another job. Sigh. 😔

New way of handling COVID-19 required ?

I have a question as I’m beginning to feel that we need a new way to handle this pandemic. Perhaps there is way too much paranoia on this coronavirus. I noted the fatality rate is still low. The question is how much of losses economically do we need to sacrifice to keep the number of infections low? Is it worth it to sacrifice billions of money on people that will recover anyway? Are we going to keep on adopting this “lockdown” strategy? Is it not adequate to have TEMCO?

I noted the possibility of the virus mutating further and it could become so infectious one day that there will be nothing we could do to prevent it from spreading no matter what we try. If that becomes true, what are we going to do? Adopt even tighter lockdown, even though the 99% of those infected will nonetheless recover? Or, is there a way to just isolate those persons deemed at risk (ie. above a certain age, or have some illness, etc)? And the rest of the others just wear masks and adopt social distancing. We only change and adopt a stricter strategy when the fatality rate spike. If it stays low a certain range, perhaps we should not be so paranoid when looking at the number of infected people. Perhaps. I don’t know.

What do you think? This is only sharing opinions and discussion. Don’t get angry and start scolding people, okay?

Interest charges on monthly Maintenance Fees

Need your advice on interest charges on maintenance fees.

I assume that many apartments and condos imposed interest charges on maintenance fees, particularly on late payments. But when do you consider a payment as late?

Take August 2020 as example. For this month’s payment, do you consider it late if paid only after Sept 1 onwards?
Or can the condo mgmt committee impose the interest charges after a certain date but still within August month? Say, if any payments made after 15th of the month onwards will be considered late and therefore interest will be charged. Is that legal? Can the mgmt committee do that?

What does the Malaysian law says? Is there any definition of “late”?

My view on this is that it should not be considered as late if payment made within the month. Only if it is paid after the month, then only it is late. I mean, this should be the logic. Why should it be considered as late if payment made within the same month? Kindly share your thoughts and experience on this.

Thanks.

Bank OTP not received

I am made aware that there is a friend who tried to login his own online banking account at abt 9 something pm (Nearly 10pm) Monday but did not receive the OTP via sms. Tried again several times but still no sms received. And what’s worse is the bank call centre closed at 10pm.

In the end the person could not perform the banking transaction due to cannot login without the one time pin. I find this is so risky. Sometimes you think it’s secure but end up you yourself unable to login. So, is this due to system failure in bank? Or is it telco problem?
Not likely as can receive sms from other people.

This is ridiculous. Have you guys experience this “craziness”? I told the person to lodge a complaint.

I was wondering if they come later, then our electricity consumption will by then be higher (since it’s more than a month). Then TNB will say we are not entitled to discount as they have promised. Not sure true or not, but I was informed that if your consumptive is less than 200 kWh, then there is either no charge or 50%.

Can someone tell me whether did TNB man go to your premise to take the electricity meter reading?

And what was the discounts to be given by them?
