So was hit behind by a motorcycle with valid 3rd party insurance.

If he reports, Sarjan say can claim his insurance.

I have footage of the incident and photos.

Then Sarjan say will send letter ask him come report, if he doesn't, he will teach me use which workshop to claim the other party's NCD which is possible with dash cam footage.

We know what is happening here. More curious if I can go back to dealer workshop and can they do the same for me? If so how?

Thxx for advice

Swift sport zc31s vs 9n3 polo gti

Pros and cons from actual owners plz?

Was set on 9n3, saw 2 cars already, but a famous vag workshop cautioned against it as it is quite old and rare, parts may be hard to source especially used. Then again they think VW make rubbish cars, asked me to think Japanese.

Tried a swift sport last week and only issue was power, or lack of to be precise. But looking at swift sport group in FB, half cut and parts are still aplenty.

Parts price not so much of a concern, rather the availability and the longevity of them that I'm concerned about.

Have a 4yo suv already.

On Federal Bukit Jelutong heading to Sungei Way, wanted to change from right most lane to the next lane, saw a motor quite a distance away and not super fast, so went for it after signalling for >4 sec

He slowed down at the last minute, and when passing gave my car a kick (i am guessing as all i heard was a thud). Then he pulled up beside me yelling. I told him to go to the side to settle, and pulled off to the left most lane. Instead he sped off, so I had to try chase to get his plate number.

Guess what, none visible, no wonder so hero on the road.
[attachmentid=9958497]

Well good thing got his face and plate on rear cam
[attachmentid=9958496]

Since damage wasn't serious, just let it slide
[attachmentid=9958498]

Looking back I guess you cannot argue with them, their "lane" is special.

So I've just consolidated 2 cars to 1 SUV. 2 in the family only really use car 1/2 the week.

It was getting costly to keep and maintain 2 contis thus the decision.

However, now thinking of a cheap car that will be parked probably 320 days in a year and

1. Cost under 1k maintenance, road tax, insurance a year - bar anything breaking down
2. Easy and cheap to maintain, parts easy find, reliable and no known issues
3. Can be parked roadside no worries
4. Woman driver friendly
5. preferably under 10k
6. As small as possible

Cars I've thought of, Myvi or older Kia picanto. Would love a smart fortwo but I'll be back at square one almost.

Thanks for the inputs

Car workshop licensing...

PUTRAJAYA: The Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry will table the Automotive Maintenance and Repair Service Bill in the Parliament in March.

Its minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin said the bill is important to ensure consumers get the best service when sending their vehicles to service centres and workshops.

He said the bill will set several vehicle service licence categories and ensure that mechanics have skills that suit with the job scope.

"We want the mechanics to have the skills before being employed in the automotive industry. We will determine certain regulations, and they (mechanics) need to have skills certificates based on the job scope they applied.

"Such regulations are important to prevent vehicle owners from being deceived by workshop owners," he said at a press conference after attending a townhall session with stakeholders and industry players on the bill.

He said the regulations, however, will not control the price imposed by automotive service centres and workshops. He said the charge of the service is determined by the current market.

Hamzah said the townhall session received positive reactions from the industry players, whereby they want to see the development of automotive maintenance and repair service industry.

He said the ministry wanted the automotive service centres and workshops in the country to portray a good image.

He said 30,000 automotive service centres and workshops including tyre and accessories shops are required to have a licence to operate when the bill is enforced.

He said the ministry has no intention to limit the industry players to run such business, and that the ministry will give time for them to fulfil the criteria and rules of the bill.

Earlier, 300 participants attended the townhall session, comprising representatives from relevant ministries, agencies, automotive maintenance and repair service associations, vehicle service centres owners, learning and training institutions and consumer associations.

https://www.nst.com.my/news/nation/2018/01/...vice-bill-march

--------

Many workshops will close down. Only the expensive ones run by the younger generation who went to TOC or something will prevail.

The industry is already having issues hiring and retaining unskilled labour, let alone certified ones.

Lube your asses, used car prices will take a hit, new cars after warranty also may have to default back to SC.

On a quarter-on-quarter seasonally adjusted, GDP posted a growth of 1.8% against 1.3% in the preceding quarter, according to the Statistics Department.

"Expansion was seen across all economic sectors," Bank Negara Governor Tan Sri Muhammad Ibrahim said on Friday.

"On the demand side, growth was anchored by private sector spending. On the supply side, services and manufacturing sectors remained the key drivers of growth," he said at a briefing on Malaysia''s third quarter GDP review.

Muhammad said: "Looking ahead, the economy is poised to register strong growth in the upper end of the official target of 5.2%-5.7%."

In October, during the unveiling of the Budget 2018 proposals, the government revised upwards Malaysia's 2017 full-year GDP growth rate to the range of 5.2% to 5.7%, from its earlier estimate of 4.3% to 4.8%.

Last year, Malaysia’s GDP grew 4.2%.

Amid improving economic conditions in the country and globally, Bank Negara had last week said it might review its “accommodative” benchmark overnight policy rate (OPR) of 3%.

The central bank last raised the OPR, which commercial banks refer to in pricing their lending rates, in July 2014, when the benchmark rate was raised 25 basis points to 3.25%.

This was later slashed by 25 basis points to 3% in July last year to support domestic economic activities.

According to Statistics Department, the services sector rose to 6.6% after registering 6.3% in Q2 of 2017 – boosted by the wholesale & retail trade which remained strong by posting 7.5% in this quarter.

Information & communication improved to 8.8% fuelled by data communication, computer services and information services activities.

Finance & insurance grew to 4.2% as compared to 5.1% in the preceding quarter due to the moderation in the insurance sub-sector.

The manufacturing sector expanded at a faster pace of 7% from 6% in Q2, 2017.

Underpinning the growth was the electrical, electronic & optical products, which grew to 8.7%, supported by higher production of semiconductors, integrated circuit and communication equipment.

Petroleum, chemical, rubber & plastic products recorded a 5% increase, underpinned by a strong performance in refined petroleum product.

The agriculture sector grew at a slower pace of 4.1% after registering a growth of 5.9% in Q2, 2017. The growth for this sector was spearheaded by oil palm which remained resilient by recording a double-digit growth of 10% in this quarter.

However, livestock and other agriculture moderated to 4.5% and 1.5% respectively. Nevertheless, fishing rebounded to 0.3% supported by aquaculture which accelerated to 10.1%.

GDP by expenditure approach

Private final consumption expenditure expanded to 7.2% (Q2, 2017: 7.1%) mainly due to the consumption on food & non-alcoholic beverages, communication and housing & utilities.

Gross fixed capital formation (GFCF) saw a sharp increase to 6.7% (Q2, 2017: 4.1%).
