Anyone feel stressed by fitness trackers?, Data anxiety from smart rings/watches

Hi all,

Curious to hear from people here who use smartwatches or fitness trackers (Apple Watch, Garmin, Fitbit, Samsung rings or watches, etc.).

Do you ever feel pressured by the numbers from your wearable?

For example:

Trying to close rings / hit step goals every day
Feeling a bit stressed if you miss a workout or activity target
Checking sleep score or heart rate and worrying about the results
Changing plans just to complete your daily activity goal

Been using wearables for a few years and have had a few of those examples happen to me. Plus with devices now tracking more things (ex. sleep, stress levels, heart rate, calories, standing time, etc.), feels like it can be overwhelming.

Would be interesting to hear your experiences, good or bad, and how you all deal with it (i.e. motivates you, stresses you, or just completely ignore it)
YuanYu: A holistic wellness platform,

Hi everyone,

We’ve recently launched YuanYu (元宇), a holistic wellness platform designed to move away from the "one-size-fits-all" approach to self-care.

Modern wellness often ignores our individual bio-rhythms. Whether you're a high-energy performer or someone who thrives in calm environments, generic meditation guides and scheduling tools often fall short. We built YuanYu to bridge the gap between traditional energetic frameworks and modern productivity/well-being tools.

What YuanYu offers:

Energetic Blueprint Mapping: Our platform analyzes your biological and elemental markers to map out your "Energy Blueprint." It then identifies your daily peak focus times and suggests the best slots for deep work or restorative rest.

Mindfulness & Breathwork: Built-in 4-7-8 breathing guides and meditation timers to help manage stress and improve mental clarity.

Holistic Conditioning Plan: Based on your unique constitution, we provide actionable advice on daily habits, including nutritional guidance and movement suggestions that align with your natural rhythm.

Gamified Growth: We’ve implemented a 'Virtue/Karma' reward system to turn daily mindfulness and positive habits into a tangible journey of self-improvement.

Hardware Connectivity: For users who prefer a tactile experience, YuanYu integrates with our proprietary Bluetooth-connected device ('Destiny Box') to provide a physical-to-digital interface for tracking your daily intention and energy state.

Why we’re sharing this:
Our goal is to create a digital sanctuary that helps users navigate life with greater clarity and purpose. We are currently looking for feedback from wellness enthusiasts and productivity hackers to help us refine our personalized algorithms.

How you can help:
If you’re interested in a data-driven approach to wellness and habit building, we’d love for you to give it a try. We are offering 1,000 free Virtue Coins to community members to explore all the premium insights within the app.

Get started here:
https://yuanyucore.com/en

Referral Code for 1,000 Virtue Coins: WELCOME

We’re here to answer any questions about the tech stack, the design philosophy, or how the integration works. We’d appreciate any feedback you have!

Fibroids. when to operate, when will recur?,

Hi, I am in my early 40s and got quite some numbers of older friends in late 40s/50s women who had their uterus removed due to fibroids.
I didn't expect it will be my turn so fast. I want to preserve my uterus as long as possible even if I am too old to get preggy, I just don't want to lose a part of me. Anyone who had done myomectomy before and what are the results, and timeline before your next fibroid appears and grow to a dangerous level again?

Surgery for sinus, Yes or no?

Hey Fam,

Im here to get your opinion on sinus surgery. My sinus is very bad and i often get sick/flu easily.

Because of that, sneezing constantly and my nose gets blocked.

I was considering surgery. But people said that surgery will increase snoring as some had that after surgery..

Is it true? Can i consider for surgery or is there better solution than surgery?

Thanks

Hi all. Just wanted to know if the gym benches of shopee are generally recommended. Been looking at this one,

https://shopee.com.my/ADSports-Bansuk-Sport...152214484013%7D

The F52 model but also welcome recommendations around the same budget.

Thanks

Accutane (Isotretinoin) Journey, Roaccutane saved me

I have been struggling with severe acne all my life.

My friend, who is a dermatologist, recommended for me to get started on Accutane in September of 2025.

I was worried about cost at first, but thankfully he didn't charge me for prescription/consultation and gave me 3 months supply for RM450 (literally cost price).

Now in January 2026: I am about as acne free as I've ever been in my adult life.

I feel like my life has been turned around.

For those of u who struggle with acne, get accutane. It'll solve all your problems. If I only knew RM450 would have saved me years of feeling down and depressed, I would have been on it 10 years ago.
I’m prepping tools, containers, and seasonings for meal prep, and I’m wondering if any meal-prep pros here have good tips on getting protein at a good price.

I used to have a contact who sold bulk frozen poultry at a very good rate if I bought around 5–10 kg, but I lost his number. Do any pros here have reliable contacts or preferred shops for buying poultry in bulk (around 5–10 kg)? **KL/SELANGOR**

Fasting for metabolic health,

Human body are design not to keep eating.

Go watch all the 1h video then get back to me. I have watch all this one hour video. Implemented fasting into my daily life and see the benefits myself.

He is one cardiologist I respect. Look behind the heart. Able to bring people off their meds something that normal doctors can't and won't do. He got nothing to sell. No supplements. No course. No blueprint.

Chatgpt answer on fasting.

QUOTE

Sure — I’ll explain this in plain, non-medical English, step by step.

---

1. Why is a high insulin level bad?

Insulin is a storage hormone.
Its main job is to:

Move sugar from your blood into your cells

Store extra energy as fat

Prevent your body from burning stored fat

Having insulin rise after eating is normal.
Having insulin stay high most of the day is the problem.

What happens when insulin is high all the time?

Think of insulin like someone constantly knocking on the door.

At first, your cells respond.
Over time, they get annoyed and stop answering.

This leads to:

• Insulin resistance – cells stop responding properly
• More fat storage, especially belly fat
• Harder to lose weight
• Blood sugar rises, even though insulin is high
• Higher risk of type 2 diabetes
• Inflammation and artery damage → heart disease
• Fatty liver
• Energy crashes and constant hunger

So the danger is not insulin itself, but chronically high insulin.

---

2. Why is my insulin level high?

In most people, high insulin is caused by how often and what we eat, not by disease.

The main reasons:

🍞 1. Too many refined carbs and sugar

Foods like:

White rice, white bread

Sugary drinks

Sweets, desserts

Ultra-processed foods

These cause big sugar spikes, forcing your body to release a lot of insulin.

---

🍽️ 2. Eating too often (constant snacking)

Every time you eat: → insulin goes up

If you eat:

Breakfast

Snack

Lunch

Snack

Dinner

Supper

Your insulin never gets a chance to go down.

---

🧠 3. Insulin resistance (the vicious cycle)

When cells stop listening to insulin: → your body produces even more insulin to compensate

So you can have:

High insulin

Normal blood sugar …and still be metabolically unhealthy

(This often happens years before diabetes)

---

😴 4. Poor sleep & chronic stress

Stress hormones (like cortisol):

Push sugar into your blood

Force insulin higher

Poor sleep alone can raise insulin resistance.

---

🧬 5. Genetics + age

Some people are simply more sensitive to insulin resistance as they age.

---

3. How fasting affects insulin — and why it helps metabolism

What happens when you fast?

When you don’t eat: • Blood sugar slowly falls
• Insulin drops
• Your body switches fuel sources

This is crucial:

Low insulin tells your body:

> “Stop storing fat. Start burning fat.”

---

Step-by-step downstream effects:

🔥 1. Fat burning turns on

Low insulin allows:

Stored fat → broken down

Fat → used for energy

This is impossible when insulin is high.

---

🔄 2. Insulin sensitivity improves

Cells “reset” and become:

More responsive to insulin

Need less insulin next time you eat

This lowers:

Future insulin spikes

Diabetes risk

---

🧹 3. Cellular cleanup (repair mode)

During fasting:

Damaged cell parts are recycled

Inflammation decreases

Mitochondria work better

(This is like maintenance mode for your body)

---

🧠 4. Better energy and mental clarity

Many people notice:

Less brain fog

More stable energy

Less hunger over time

Because energy is now coming from fat, not sugar crashes.

---

❤️ 5. Improved long-term metabolic health

Over time fasting can:

Lower insulin levels

Reduce belly fat

Improve cholesterol profile

Lower blood pressure

Reduce diabetes risk

---

The big picture (simple summary)

• Insulin is not bad • Chronically high insulin is bad • High insulin = fat storage + metabolic damage
• Low insulin (for part of the day) = fat burning + repair

Fasting works mainly because it gives insulin a break.

---

One important reassurance

Fasting does not mean:

Starving

Skipping nutrients

Being extreme

Even simple habits like:

12–14 hour overnight fast

Cutting snacks

Eating real food

…can already lower insulin significantly.

---

Does fasting improve metabolic health?

QUOTE

Yes — fasting can improve metabolic health, but it works for specific reasons and only when done sensibly.

I’ll explain this clearly, without medical jargon.

---

What does “metabolic health” mean (in simple terms)?

It means your body:

Handles sugar well

Doesn’t need a lot of insulin

Can switch between burning sugar and fat

Has stable energy

Stores less harmful belly fat

Poor metabolic health = insulin resistance, weight gain, fatty liver, diabetes risk.

---

How fasting improves metabolic health

1. Fasting lowers insulin (this is the key)

When you don’t eat:

Blood sugar falls

Insulin falls

Low insulin allows your body to:

Stop storing fat

Start burning stored fat

“Reset” insulin sensitivity

This alone improves metabolic health.

---

2. Cells become more insulin-sensitive

After a fasting period:

Your cells respond better to insulin

Less insulin is needed after meals

Blood sugar stays more stable

This reduces the risk of:

Type 2 diabetes

Metabolic syndrome

---

3. Fasting reduces belly fat

Belly (visceral) fat:

Is strongly linked to insulin resistance

Releases inflammatory chemicals

Fasting preferentially reduces this fat, which:

Improves hormone balance

Lowers inflammation

---

4. Fasting improves fat-burning flexibility

A healthy metabolism can:

Burn sugar when needed

Burn fat when food is absent

Fasting trains your body to switch fuels smoothly, instead of being “addicted” to constant sugar intake.

---

5. Fasting reduces inflammation

Lower insulin + less visceral fat leads to:

Lower chronic inflammation

Better blood vessel function

Better heart health

---

6. Fasting supports cellular repair

During fasting:

Old or damaged cell parts are recycled

Energy production becomes more efficient

This supports long-term metabolic function.

---

What fasting does not do

Fasting is not magic.

It will not help if:

You fast, then overeat junk food

You are constantly stressed and sleep-deprived

You starve yourself excessively

Fasting works best together with real food and good sleep.

---

What type of fasting helps most people?

You don’t need extreme fasting.

For most normal people, these already help:

• 12–14 hour overnight fast
• 16:8 time-restricted eating (optional)
• Reducing snacking
• Eating protein and fiber at meals

Consistency matters more than duration.

---

Who should be cautious?

Fasting may not be suitable (or needs guidance) if you:

Are underweight

Are pregnant or breastfeeding

Have a history of eating disorders

Have diabetes on insulin or certain medications

---

Simple takeaway

✅ Fasting improves metabolic health by lowering insulin and improving fat burning
✅ It gives your metabolism time to repair
❌ It’s not about starvation
❌ It must be sustainable

---

Basically everything the cardiologist said summarise to you by chatgpt. He was the one who taught me to fast, how to fast, benefits of fasting. I still fast to this day because of him. If not because of him, I am overweight, prediabetes. Now no more. Don't believe traditional old fashion medical advice. Someone who got nothing to sell and giving you free stuff (fasting) is someone I will trust more than Bryan Johnson. Seeing lots of biohackers fast makes it better.

How can i treat an abrasion on my knee?,

Six days ago, the lower outer side of my knee accidentally hit the corner of a chair leaving a small deep red abrasion. I ignored it on the first day then applied Vaseline Original 100% Repairing Jelly once the next day. I later realized it was expired so i stopped using it. I noticed my abrasion looked infected so I started using Foban cream and have applied it twelves times without a bandage so far. I will continue using it three times per day until it heals. How is my abrasion? Does foban cream work on it? Here's my current condition:
